Dear Cecil, Thank you for having taken the time to answer my question. I believe that my kitchen design complies with "Commonsense FS" i.e. stove is not directly next to water or fridge nor infront. There is no window near stove ... no wind or cold air ... etc... I am worried however about the placement of the stove... which school of FS should be correct? should I place it NE/SE so it faces our bad sectors or should it be on E or N wall which are favourable directions for us? Anyway the kitchen has been ordered for NE/SE as it is a special corner unit (Had to have it designed especially!) Really I looked at it also from a decorative point of view so as to make it look nice and comfortable... I do have another question for you regarding the bedroom ... our master bedroom is in the S/SE sector of the house and the bed will have to go on the W wall... My feet will be thus pointing E .. I understand being Kua 1 this is my death position ???? Can I do something about this somehow ... the bed only fits in the room this way ... Thank you for your time. Dear Cecil, We just bought our new house in August. It is some 25/30 years old (we can't find out exactly when it was built) and we are now in the process of doing a major overhaul of the property. i.e. new water, electrics, sewage, kitchen, bathroom, floor and some modifications as well. From the different FS books that I have read I understand the year of renovation to be very important and to be considered as year built if you don't know the year it was built. Also I understand that any building / renovations in the S sector this year can be bring bad luck... is there anyway of avoiding this ... should I take it very seriously. Hopefully in a month time the building will be finished... I even have Chinese workman doing the rebuilding... maybe this helps positively (joke!) Also wanted to ask if a small exterior water fountain would be suitable at the right side of the house as you come onto our plot of land .. it would be on the E wall and a little bit higher is the main door facing S. Would it be auspicious. It is a beautiful location for water plants and a fountain but I am not sure. It is left side from the door towards the outside. Thank you so much for your troubles. Lola

Dear Cecile, I have always read your post with much interest and now finally I can formulate a question to you which I hope you will have time to answer... I am Kua 1 and hubby is Kua 3 .. thus we have the same good and bad directions ... We are just rebuilding our new house and the kitchen has just been bought .. The kitchen is located in the NE part of the house and in particular I have placed the stove in the NE part as well ... the main door is S . I understand that by placing it on the NE walls the "oven mouth" is facing SE and both these directions being bad directions for us should give us good chi ... is this correct ???
