Administrator
Dear Caryn,Please see my comments below:- Quote As l know of that the South is inauspicious this year . Lets first look at a few "relationships":-1. The Five Elements, Numbers and Colours :-(Since I am not using a table, some format could be out so I placedcommas between the relationships)Cardinal Point / Five element / Number / ColourNorth, Water element, 2 or 6, BlackEast, Wood element, 4 or 8, Green or BrownSouth, Fire element, 3 or 7, Purple or RedWest, Metal element, 1 or 9, WhiteCentre, Earth element, 5 or 10, YellowThis year we get to hear the mysterious word " 5 yellow ". Whatthis simply means is that (from the above) 5 isrepresented by Yellow or the Earth element. Therefore we call this " 5yellow " or " 5 earth ". If we were to interpret theword 5 yellow we would all be confused. Does it mean 5 yellow ...something.... Hope this helps. So in the same light, when one says 9 Purple, this simply means theFire element, Numerology 9 and the colour Purple. Some Feng Shui Practioners like to use these words.Next, these numbers are based on the 9 Stars or The Flying StarTheory. (9 Star Ki is Japanese/American model isone and the same). From 16 Feb 1999 to 4 Feb 2000 or the Rabbit Year, The Flying StarChart for the Rabbit Year is as follows:-Compass Direction / Star Number / SignificanceNorth, Star 6, Average locationNE, Star 4, Good for AcademicEast, or Location of the Grand Duke for this yearSE, Star 9, Good & PromotionSouth, Star 5, Bad ( also known as 5 yellow)SW, Star 7, Good, WealthWest, 3 Killings or Legal EntanglementsHere you see that under the General Readings for this Year, the aboveis a representation for this Year. This is why,it is said not to dig earth or to " cool down " the South. Is this good or bad?As mentioned, this is a general reading for the year. You should lookat your own personal Flying Star Chart for theyear and even the birth chart of your house. If you do not have these, then use the above as a general guide.Hope this helps you and other users to understand the relationships andthe significance of the 9 Stars above. Quote Can l put a mirror in the Southern of my house ( which is my dinning hall )to reflect the Northern ( hall's window ) a green garden. In general, you can place a mirror in your dinning hall. However, if you donot know much about whether the location or that wall is auspicious or not,I would suggest not doing so. This is because, if the wall or area isconsidered inauspicous, you are bouncing back or doubling the bad luck. Thiscould be worse. If you really do not know, but feel that you want to, youare using " intuitive " form of Feng Shui. That is, put it there, if nothinghappens say within two weeks, you can leave it there. I am not encouragingthis form of Feng Shui but, this is what normally intuitive Feng Shui is allabout. If anyone is practising this, the commonsense approach is not to do too manyenhancements at anyone time using the intuitive method. This is like fore.g. an IBM or any Customer Service engineer would do to trace a fault. Theyusually replace a part, monitor it and then if it still gives a problem, resolve the problem further... If anyone reading this the first time andwonder what sort of advice, I am providing, erh.... I know that there arequite alot of Feng Shui theories and this form of trial and error Feng Shuiis going to stay because of so many self-help books etc.... But if you liketo use sound Feng Shui principles, I strongly recommend Eight House, FlyingStar and even Pillars (finding your true element and strength) and applyingthis with the 5 elements.Warmest Regards,Cecil-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed>Date: Thursday, March 18, 1999 11:22 PMSubject: Southern Quote From: "Caryn Koay" This message is sent from "feng-shui-tips" Mailing List. Can l put a mirror in the Southern of my house ( which is my dinning hall )to reflect the Northern ( hall's window ) a green garden. As l know of that the South is inauspicious this year .Pls share and advice .Thanks. -->
