mksay
Dear Cecil & Robert,I am confused about something, as my knowledge on Flying Star is limited. For the natal chart of NW3 of period 3, there are two bad sectors identified:a. North: base 3, mountain 2, water 4Theory 1: Look at the mountain & water stars2(strong earth), 4(weak wood)earth is controlled by wood, so need METAL to control the woodTheory 2: Consider the 2/3 combo of mountain and base stars2(strong earth), 3(strong wood)Cure by placing a large urn of water hereQuestions:Theory 1: don't we need to consider the weak wood is too weak to control the strong earth?Theory 2: why water? water enhances wood that can then continue to destroy earth?b. Quote From: "Rose Say" This message is sent from "flying-star" Mailing List.Dear Cecil & Robert,I am confused about something, as my knowledge on Flying Star is limited. For the natal chart of NW3 of period 3, there are two bad sectorsidentified:a. North: base 3, mountain 2, water 4Theory 1: Look at the mountain & water stars2(strong earth), 4(weak wood)earth is controlled by wood, so need METAL to control the woodTheory 2: Consider the 2/3 combo of mountain and base stars2(strong earth), 3(strong wood)Cure by placing a large urn of water hereQuestions:Theory 1: don't we need to consider the weak wood is too weak to controlthe strong earth? Yes, we do, but even for weak wood it does help to control earth in someway. The reason for Metal is that Metal will exhaust the 2 strong Earth thisweakens the (inauspicious 2 star). Then while exhausting Metal, metal gainsstrength from Earth, thus, it is able to destroy the weak Wood (inauspicious4 star). So this way do you notice that Metal does two cures with oneelement? It draw strength from the strong Earth to destroy Wood. Quote Theory 2: why water? water enhances wood that can then continue to destroyearth? Quote 2(strong earth), 3(strong wood)Cure by placing a large urn of water herePersonally, I don't see why you should use water, I think that Metal willagain be the best solution. Because both stars are inauspicious so thepriority is to reduce all inauspicious influence. Where did you obtain thisinformation?b. South: base 2, mountain 1, water 3Theory 1: 1(weak water), 3(strong wood)Need FIRE to weaken woodTheory 2: consider the 2/3 combo and can be controlled by large presence ofwaterFire is the correct element to emply here because 1 weak water is anauspicious star, while strong wood requires Fire to deduce the influence.Questions:FIRE and WATER seem contradictory. Which is the right one? What so contradictory about it? Water destroy Fire, but Fire destroy Metal. It does not destroy each other. You see when say Water, Wood, Fire comes inthis sequence, what happens is that a balance is nearly created.Water produce Wood - (Wood becomes stronger, Water is weaken)Wood produces Fire - (Fire becomes stronger, Wood is weaken)Fire produces Earth - (Earth becomes stronger, Fire is weaken)Do you see the sequence. Thus, when they are weaken, their destructioneffect is weaken, so it will not affect the cycle instead promotes harmony. Quote Is there any precedence amongMountain vs Water starsMountain vs Base starsWater vs Base stars? The order should go as:-1. Mountain vs Water Star2. Both (Mountain vs Water Star) in relation with Base StarThese two combination determines the influences of the entire sector for theentire 20 year.1. 20-year vs yearly2. yearly vs monthly3. monthly vs daily4. daily vs hourly5. hourly vs minute6. minute vs secondHowever, mostly for house evaluation, up to monthly is sufficient, any moreis very very complex! These will help to determine during the 20-year what kind of influence hasentered the sector. It can be good or can be bad. All determined by how theelements, auspicious/inauspicious, element strength interact with eachother. Then applying that to the relationship objects represented by theFive Element and the Trigrams gives you the explanation. I believe you canobtain the details of the Five Elements from Cecil's Applied Feng ShuiCourse or the Applied Feng Shui Made Easy Book. There is a long list ofrelationship of Five elements, objects, human parts, etc.Warmest RegardsRobert Lee Quote To reply: mailto:flying-star.1032@forum.geomancy.netTo start new topic: mailto:flying-star@forum.geomancy.netTo unsubscribe and participate only via Web Forum:1. Yes, books are like that, they tend to be catered more towards explainingthe analysis. It is actually, and most of the Flying Star teaching alsomentions that the major influences are often the interaction between theMountain and Water star. These two stars often changes which brings alongdifferent influences when they meet. However, the base star is still important for the explanation without theeven the two stars flying star is supposed to represent the sector's generalinfluence for the 20-year, yearly, monthly etc. When looking at Flying Star charts, it is important to see the overallinteractions because, eventually what you want to know is what are theinfluences of the sector.
