Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 17, 2008 Staff Share Posted July 17, 2008 Try to use a single piece (ONE) or (THREE) piece mirror as shown in the attachment. Avoid placing exactly two pieces of mirror at the dining table area. Often for convenience, the contractor will arrange for a two piece mirror to be installed. Most likely, if the wall is too large, it may either not be possible to bring up a single piece through the lift or even from the staircase. Alternatively, it only takes a few minutes to bring upa two piece mirror via the lift. However, two pieces of mirrors is considered inauspicious as the line"cuts" exactly the middle of the dining table. Thus symbolic of a "split" or food when placed on the table is cut into-half. Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 30, 2012 Staff Share Posted November 30, 2012 Even pieces will always have a SPLIT in the middle. For mirrors, go for either ONE piece or ODD pieces... Staff Cecil Lee Posted September 12, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2015 Can I put a mirror behind my sofa right at the living room. Like the picture I sent you. I remembered you said ok. Thanks OK this has more to do with common sense. If the sofa seat is too close to the wall/mirror. The mirror may end up with hair oil and takes some effort to maintain. That's all. Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 21, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted August 21, 2018 These are further considerations: Sometimes there can be situations where the dining table is not placed exactly in the middle of the proposed dining area. Thus in these occasions, a three Mirror glass may even split the dining table in the middle. Therefore, in my reports to clients; I have made this clear by mentioning simply that the split line (if any) of a set of mirrors be it odd or even : so Long as it does split the dining table exactly at the middle = is acceptable or okay or no issue.
