Staff Robert Lee Posted July 6, 1999 Staff Share Posted July 6, 1999 Hi,Under the shapes and form school, the main concern is to "protect" your main entrance door and especially and windows along this frontage. Therefore, for the main door, one test is to stand at the main entrance door and look out. If the cross is on the same level or directly cutting the main entrance door, this is considered a sha qi or poison. Normally, the cross should be higher level, and it would usually affect your house if it is more then one storey high. And for such cases, the most easiest cases is to use a set of blinds or thicker curtains. This is based on the principle that if you cannot see the sha it is no longer a threat.Usually, the most common threat is a lamp post. Here as the lamp post is considered by many Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners consider this as a fire element threat. This is why many Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners ask their clients to place a Fish Tank in the room that overlooks this threat. As you are aware, water in general destroys Fire. So this indirectly counteract the sha qi.Actually, there is another third element in the water which is the fish to counteract, the wood element as the lamp post is complex. The Lamp post is tall and thin, and some Feng Shui Masters instead consider it as a wood element. What can we learn from above? You will notice that some Feng Shui professionals use fish tank sparingly and not simply place a fish tank for the sake of earning extra money.Another point you need to know here is that, usually under feng shui, fish tanks are used mostly by traditional feng shui practitioners as cures rather than enhancers. Contrast this with a fountain and a waterfall as they are fast moving and are considered more as enhancers. There are Feng Shui practitioners who question the use of placing a fish tank for two reasons.1. What happens if the fishes die? 2. By pouring away water from the fish tank when cleaning the fish tank, it is symbolic of pouring away wealth (water). However, generally water is considered as wealth, but under different circumstances, water is not necessary a person's wealth. For example, a Earth element person's wealth is water, but this is not true for others. Also, in I-Ching Water symbolises difficulties. Therefore, if it is at the wrong location of the house, again just like wind chime, it would do more harm then good. You should also be aware that too much water is considered too yin, and too much yin is the house is inauspicious as yin normally represents weak and sickness. For example, houses with blue roofs is never recommended, because it is like water on top of you, which means you face lots of problems.Hopes this helps.Warmest RegardsRobert Lee Quote On 7/6/99 5:11:01 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear cecil and robert,Is it bad if one main doorfaces a cross symbol fromacross a church. Administrator
Dear Iz,Thank you for your words of encouragements. Presently, Feng Shui is nolonger so mysterious.Sometimes, I go abit far to `warn users' not to go excessively into FengShui. Well sometimes this is human nature. For example, say someone pick up a book on Feng Shui and after readingbetween the lines, find that an author says that wind chimes are good. Here, the `catalyst' begins. Each of us mean well for our family and insteadof purchasing one wind chime, may tend to purchase more. If one ispurchasing only one wind chime, the chances of getting it placed at a FlyingStar inauspicious location is not as great as one buying 5 wind chimes andas there are 8 sectors, the chances of getting into problems are great!Green Roof:When I first started to learn Feng Shui, a successful engineering friend ofmy told me the story that his clay roof (orange/red) was covered in greenishalgae. His parents decided to clean the roof and give it the original orange/ red tiles. He related that overall, their house is in a good Shapes andForm and the additional green material on the roof provided added good luck. After they cleaned the roof, coincidentally, the luck declined.Overall, it is safe to have green roofs. This implies the wood element. However, in Feng Shui under the Shapes and Form School an expert Feng ShuiMaster will look at e.g. the house in relation to others and see whatelement your house is in relation to the neighbourhood. For example, a short while ago, I made some comments on the Feng Shui ofoffice buildings. In my city, some foreign Feng Shui Masters advised theirclients to built tall buildings in a specific shape. For example, if thereare lots of offices classified as wooden structures, they usually advisetheir clients to build e.g. a fire building to destroy the wooden thuscreating wealth. The Bank of China in Hong Kong is a well known case and thebuilding comprises two elements. It is mean to subdue other nearby buildingsand thus create `wealth'.This is one example of how the Five elements is used in relation to housesor buildings. One useful book I always recommend to understand the Five Elements conceptis a book by Derek Walters called " Feng Shui Handbook ". He has anotherbook called Feng Shui. If you compare his book with others available youwill notice that he truly understands and practise Feng Shui which is basedon the Yin and Yang and the Five Elements. Not unlike some new books writteneven by famous authors who are in my opinon is very poor in their knowledgeand the application of the Five Elements. Such authors I feel, give falsehope and I personally feel do more harm than good to anyone. Some of theseauthors are best at only coming up with general books and the safer booksare on the Shapes and Forms.Warmest Regards,Cecil Lee-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Wednesday, July 07, 1999 9:05 AMSubject: Re: Cross symbol Quote From: Iz This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.Wow!! -- Salud for all the advices I have read so far since I joined thismail list!!!!
