Hi Everyone,
Here are some tips which I personally feel should be useful to most users:-
1. Don't do too many things at once.
True Traditional Feng Shui Masters who do audits will normally do a
thorough analysis and provide advise. Usually, their advise is based on the
Five Elements Concept / Yin and Yang. Usually, at a certain location, if
there is ever a need to neutralise a sha or make enhancements, there are
usually `focused' cures to the location.
You will notice that the FS Master will not at once ask you to place 3
plots of plants here, hang 2 wind chimes etc....
Why is this so?
Look at how Customer Service Engineers at reputable companies e.g. IBM
does troubleshooting. They try to isolate the problem. For example, if there
is an `intermitten' fault, they do not simply do all things at once. They
may replace a circuit card and monitor the situation.
Feng Shui is `of course' not like this to an expert Feng Shui Master.
What I am referring is to those who use Feng Shui i.e. Do it yourself like
most of the users who have read books and want to implement something maybe
due to their six sense etc... and those who do not rely on analytical
methods like Flying Star.. Try to do what I have mentioned especially for
those who do trial and error Feng Shui.
2. If you hire a " Feng Shui " practioner, you have the right to ask the
Practioner for the reason for doing something. For example if he/she asks
you to place a fish tank at a location. You have the right to question why
particularly more so if the fish tank or wind chimes etc.. are provided by
the Practioner.
Usually, if the practioner is unable to relate the reason properly using the
Five Elements concept, it is considered suspect. You are better off, paying
the practioner for the time and effort and say bye bye to them.
In a past message, I mentioned that in the Far East particularly in
Singapore, Malaysia, Feng Shui practioners usually do not call their Company
XYZ Feng Shui but rather a general term like ABC Geomancy, XYZ Geomancy
Services etc... The reason is clear: Even in countries where there is a
strong belief in Feng Shui, most FS Practioners cannot make a living simply
on Feng Shui alone. They must be able to provide Pillars of Destiny
analysis, providing a name for a child, some do Feng Shui in and around and
some provide Yin Feng Shui or Feng Shui for the dead. In addition, these
people are skilled in Chinese Astrology i.e. inclusive of face reading and
palmistry and other divinity methods.
What more can we say about Feng Shui outside, Hong Kong and the Far East.
Usually when one is contacted to do a FS audit especially in my country, the
fee is fixed and the FS Master does not bring along wind chimes etc.. to
sell and make more out of the owner. If there is a need to buy an item, the
householder is advised to go to anywhere they choose to buy one. Maybe it is
easily available over here. Perhaps, I cannot blame if these are provided
overseas where it is harder to purchase. This is why, you have to be careful
of who you engage.
Hope the above helps.
Cecil

Cecil,
You mentioned FS for the dead in your post. Just out of curiosity, how is FS done for the dead? Would that be keeping the grave or burial site clean? How would sha qi affect the dead?
Thanks for indulging my interest. :o)

Dear Joe,
Due to the scarcity of land for burial, many have turned to cremation. There
are now a handful of FS Practioners skilled in the art of Yin Feng Shui or
Feng Shui for the dead.
I had in past written a short write-up and this is quite interesting:

Warmest Regards,
Cecil
