Staff Robert Lee Posted July 15, 1999 Staff Share Posted July 15, 1999 Hi,Like Cecil has mentioned, he Grand Duke in his opinion is like a Chinese superstition or culture. The only Feng Shui related reason for the Grand Duke is because of its astrological representation.Basically Jupiter is the largest star and it is thus has a great magnetic influence over the rest of the stars especially when they get close. Thus, because of this principle, it was termed as part of Feng Shui under the Flying Star because the Flying Star is also based on magnetic influence. It is supposed to represent that when a Grand Duke in there, the magnetic influence is affected, thus if you offend it, it is like disturbing the already disturbed magnetic force in that area.Other stars are not considered why because they are too far or too small to have much influence. Also, the reason that not many masters discuss much about this also signifies that the birth of this theory was more of a believe. But due to a little astrology which is common for Zi Wei Dou Shu (Chinese Astrology), this was considered part of Feng Shui under Flying Star. However, this matter is a debatable issue due to the fact that the star how great is pretty far away, so the influence cannot be that great after all. But, due to many incidents in the past relating to this Grand Duke Theory, many Chinese often believe that it is better to believe than to ignore.Warmest RegardsRobert Lee Quote On 7/10/99 12:25:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:Why only the position of theplanet jupiter is taken in toaccount.
