myfs_104363
Dear Master Lee,I read under Fun with Feng Shui Tour that it is unfavourable to have a bedroom above the kitchen. It also saysthat the bedroom door should not face the door of another room. Is there anything I can do to fix or "cure" this?Thank you in advance!
Staff Robert Lee Posted June 20, 2005 Staff Share Posted June 20, 2005 Dear Anon,Anonymous wrote:I read under Fun with Feng Shui Tour that it is unfavourable to have a bedroom above the kitchen. There is a very commonsense reason for this. The kitchen has the highest probability of fire to start compared to other parts of the house. So if you have a bedroom just about it. The chances of five spreading up first is so much higher. As such, this is in auspicious.I mean in the traditional feng shui, most will probably ask you to put like 6 coins or wind chime etc. But I would personally advise you to spend a little money and buy a smoke detector. This is because technology has caught up with times. A smoke detector can at least give you warning so that you can attempt to put out the fire before it grows to big or at least alert you to get out the of the house safely. So this is the most effective way to handle this kind of feng shui leak.Anonymous wrote:It also saysthat the bedroom door should not face the door of another room. Is there anything I can do to fix or "cure" this?Generally, this is because it is said that when two door face it other, there is a higher chance of conflicts from arising. Especially, between the two occupants. The best way to resolve this is either keep the door close when not in use. Or at least at one of the bedroom door, if possible to install have some kind of curtain to block of the entrance or view. This can help as well. But simply this is usually not a major issue for family members as mostly family members are more likely to work out the difference than compared to a neighbour. So don't really have to worry too much. Just keeping the door close will help in most cases.Hope that helps.Warmest RegardsRobert LeeGEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

According to Lunar Calendar: 1979, 5th month, 27 day, between 1.00 p.m. to 2.59 p.m. Direction: North-East Exact Degree: 22.5 to 67.4Description: This is your Irritation directionUnfortunately my bedroom is in NORTHEAST of the house plan but my head direction is towards SOUTH. Is it ok?? Or is there any way to remedy it?? My bedroom is also directly above the kitchen.I'm quite worry that this bedroom will do more harm than good to me.Sincerely,Sleepless

Is it ok?? Or is there any way to remedy it?? Under the Eight House, Death and Disaster are two worst sector, while Irritation and Spook are less impact. So given than it is your irritation, though it is not the most suitable it isn't the worst sector also. In addition, at least you are sleeping in your South facing (ie Prosperity sector unless I am mistaken as you didn't give me the gender in your details but both gave the same results). The only thing else you can do is simply decorate the room is suitable colours favouring your ba zi element to offset any further influence of the unsuitability. Use the free ba zi report to determine what colours are good for you:-URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htmAnonymous wrote:My bedroom is also directly above the kitchen. The main problem or worry for such a layout is the fact that the kitchen has the high probability for a fire to start. And since smoke or fire rises upward, the bedroom would be the first to get hit by a fire from the ktichen. For this problem, the best recommended solution is simply to install a smoke detector for the kitchen. This will alert you in case there is a fire starting from the kitchen so that you have sufficient time to get far away from the danger. This is far more practical than using like 6 coins or windchime or any so call feng shui products/items etc. These items will only melt away in the fire, where the smoke detector can give you sufficient warning to avert the danger. Also, probably handy to keep a fire extinguisher close by to stop small fire outbreak.Hope that helps.Warmest RegardsRobert LeeGEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
