John Low wrote:Since Metal and Wood are conflicting elements, how should I interprete these readings?Generally, the best direction (ie longevity direction etc), is based on Eight House which is based on the YEAR of birth. While the ba zi direction bases on the date and time of birth. However, though eight house is very simple, it has proven time and time again to be very useful, and it's application is more for micro level application ie bed position, study position etc. The Ba Zi direction is better for like house element, or used in macro level application such as the West side of Singapore (ie jurong), or West country ie USA etc.Of course, for some people it is ideal to have both Eight House direction and Ba Zi direction favourable. That is what we call the best overall direction. If eight house is Disaster, and ba zi element for that direction is favourable, then it is bad but not as bad as both direction being unfavourable. As mentioned, as long as you apply the concept as explained above, you wil find it easy to use this concept.Hope that helps.Warmest RegardsRobert LeeGEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
