Standard off the shelf commercially purchased altars have specific altar heights of around 49 3/4 inches. This is the norm. If so, this much higher than a regular (normal) dining table other than those bar counter tops. | |||

Can my altar face the dining table?

So long as the deity sitting on the altar: at EYE LEVEL does not DIRECTLY face the dining table TOP. If this "test" is passed; then no issue. Why not?

RECOMMENDED DIMENSIONS FOR AN ALTAR (CHINESE)
Standard height for any altar: 125cm to 128cm. If a piece of glass is to be placed on the altar, then aim for total height of 125cm.
Width depends on your needs: 18cm to 23cm or 40cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm
Length: 41cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm or 71cm or 89cm or 107cm or 148cm
