Dear Magic One, Frankly, in my opinion, try to be extra cautious of the psyhic. In my opinion, try to becareful of people who says that there is/was evil around your wife. Dear Andrew, The Eight House theory is limited and does not offer any cures to a situation. Overall, you can try to check further what influence (intangible) force is also .. at the bedroom location. Basically, if your ideal door is at East but since your main door is at West, it is only but a small puzzle in a bigger zig-saw puzzle. And since it is only a part of the puzzle, i.e. to say how suitable the house is or not.. it is thus considered secondary. Dear Elena, You may have to do some homework and approach a Feng Shui Master to work out the terms of reference for the study / tutorship and accomodation. This also includes the individual country's visa restrictions on employment if any. In most part of the Far East, one should be expected to have some knowledge in Mandarin. For those who are going to Hong Kong, most likely must know some Cantonese - at least. Today, you may expected to pay quite a tidy sum or even may expect to be rejected outright for a 1:1 type of course. Dear Wasis, If one is purchasing an existing home, it is always good to learn more about the history of the house. For example, if there is only one previous owner, (no tenants) simply, the owners are staying in the apartment, it is best to find out the purpose for their move. If it is a `valid' reason, for example, they are moving because of relocation of work in another county or to upgrade their home. Particularly, if it is for upgrading, this is a good `sign'. If a house was built e.g. in the 1950s or earlier, it is good to check it's history of occupants. For any situations e.g. suicide, murder etc... I hope the above clarifies. If one is applying Shapes and Forms, then the natural positions are those at the living room area or areas that have or would require clear space especially the frontage of the house. 5.2 If one has a garden at the frontage of the house, this would be a much preferred location for a fountain. 5.3 As mentioned earlier, a tiny fountain can only be considered as `play play' or `peanuts Feng Shui'. It can be considered merely as just decorative piece. 5.4 A fountain should have the vibrancy or sounds can induce favourable Qi. And as a result create more negative ions that are favourable. A small tiny fountain may not have this type of vibrancy. 5.6 As a result, usually, a building or a condominum may want to induce such an effect e.g. having a fountain etc.. or a swimming pool with water flows etc.. And in such a situation, if one has such an advantage, it does not really benefit a person to place a `tiny' fountain in their home. 6. Overall, one should seriously consider one's Ba Zi before applying water in the house. For example, water would not be good for a person or the breadwinner if he/she is a `weak fire' or `strong water' element person. For a `weak fire' person, water will further extinguish his/her weak fire person. While water for a strong water element person is not favoured. In many of the new apartments, especially in newly or recently developed HDB estates especially in SengKang and Punggol, yes indeed, there are many apartments at the end of corridors with two flat main entrances facing each other. And in close proximity i.e. as close as 1 metre. 2. In fact, this is also common in some of the existing and new condominiums. For example, if one had visited Parkview condo at Bukit Batok, some of the (two units face) each other and also witin 1 metre proximity, also. 3. Therefore, in land scarce Singapore, you are not alone in this situation. 4. Overall, this has more to do with `commonsense approach'. Where, one's tolerance level may not be that `good' especially if neighbours are not that considerate. Such as if one neighhour either place plants and/or shoes or shoe rack outside their apartment. It may become `nerve racking' for the next door neighbour ..who may have a small family and are at odds with this type of un-neighbourly practise. Many of us also have our own comfort zone and prefer privacy. 5. It is felt that many of the residents either become tolerant of each other or result in unhappiness ... Really, there is not much choice but to exercise tolerance. 6. In fact, if one's neighour is a Chinese, it is hope that both do not resort to Ba Gua wars where, one party places a Ba Gua above their door. Dear Sharon, Please see below:- In my opinion, in a small room although technically speaking one can still divide the room into 8 sectors but from my past experience, the influence of the 8 divisions is very small or minute. As compared with the eight sectors in a larger setting e.g. a full apartment. Already, the Eight House is not a greater `scorer' of marks. And in my opinion, such a sub-division adds to or has minimal effects. It is best to still keep the bed within good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Dear Anon, I not gone thru based on Eight House (good facing direction). However, please see below for my comments:- Based on your second description here, option 1 is preferred. As an overhead cabinet is not favourable for two reasons: 1. It acts more like a supression (beam). 2. If one notice carefully, usually the edge or corner of the overhead cabinet may act as a poison arrow towards the body of a person. Usually, if there are space constraints, option 1 is preferred. It would be a bonus if the direction you face is good or nice to have (under Eight House concept). For personal self, one can see how to incorporate the colours in daily dressing. Dear Jack, There are two ways to see the use of water in Feng Shui:- 1. On a scientific basis, water positions is looked at in conjuction with Feng Shui theories : Shapes and Forms & Flying Star. In particular, under Flying Star, locations where metal elements have been detected, water can be used to enhance such "metal locations". Thus a combination of water with metal can help here. 2. On a non-scientific basis, one would have to visualise locations one can place a fish tank at. Usually, since it is a tall object, it is placed along a wall. If so, what is the distance from the lake. Would you be possible to draw a sketch of your building, in relation to the outline of the lake and high-way (with a top-down prespective) which can relatively indicate the distance and outline e.g. the highway is moving towards your building or parallel or curing inwards etc...
