  1. Dear Anon, 1. It is also good to check what is the intangible force at your bedroom under Eight House Theory. 2. It is considered inauspicious to have a toilet (toilet bowl)next to the main entrance especially. This is where it is not advisable to buy a house with such a configuration. As for cure, the only thing you can do is to close the toilet door when not in use and keep the location `bright'. A toilet is considered a yin location and keeping it bright helps to increase the `Yang' component. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear David, If I am not mistaken, most likely there could be a #2 (sickness star) affecting you e.g. in the bedroom. (Flying Star Theory). On the other hand, you can try to do an Eight House Chart to find out if the death or disaster intangible force is in the bedroom or main entrance door. If there is an imbalance under the Flying Star Theory, this can be neutralised. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Sandra, Since you cannot do much in terms of furniture layout, you can consider placing a display small dragon (can be made of glass or other materials) to aim it directly at the edge (or tangent) to the edge of the cabinet. This is a mild form of cure. Other alternatives include placing a fork aimed at the edge or a small toy cannon. I believe you should be able to place e.g. the dragon on the edge of the table such that it can be aimed at the edge and not aimed at your body. I hope this is achievable. If you are unable to have a straight path between e.g. the dragon and the edge of the cabinet, then, it is best not to place one on the table. (If it can `hit' you.) Where possible avoid placing a cactus on your table as this is not a cure. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Anon, It is best to avoid Death / Disaster which are the worst cases. As for the ranking of Spook / Irritation, these are inauspicious. Frankly, one need not need to find a weightage of which is the worst or not too bad based on a ranking system. What matters most is to try to avoid the most inaupicious : Death / Disaster. While Spook / Irritation is considered inauspicious. Looking at it in another way, all the four auspicious sectors e.g. Prosperity, Longevity etc.. are considered auspicious. Is there a purpose to rank them? The issue here is to try to avoid " Death / Disaster " as far as possible. While Spook and Irritation ... are inauspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Asucena, The `cure' depends on the element of the beam. If the beam is a wooden beam, it is best to tie 6 Chinese copper coins together and hang it on the beam. Here 6 Chinese copper (metal) coins represent `Big metal'. This is where metal destroys / neutralises wood (the wooden beam). If the beam is made of concrete, you can hang two wooden bambo flutes as follows: ------------- / \ flute flute You will notice that the flute forms the profile of the top of the Ba Gua or Trigram. 6. Dear Anon, You have to look closely whether the stripes form a three dimensional image e.g. of a cube or corner. If it is "flat" horizontal or vertical lines, I do not see any reason for it to become a `poison arrow'. I.e. it has to be pointed. If it just scrolls across the entire lenght of the wall paper, in my opinion, this is not Sha Qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Lisa, This is the " tricky " part in Feng Shui. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui especially the Flying Star theory, the traditional method is to find or locate the `exact' compass degree of the main entrance. Once you have determined the exact compass degree, you then relate it to the `birth date' of the house or if a major renovation has been done, relate it to this. Next, a chart based on the `birth date' of the house and the direction of the main entrance door is drawn based on Flying Star calculations. You will notice that the above is the first step. Once all the flying stars have plotted, next you analyse the house based on the locations and any water positions. Hope you understand that everything is not done `suddenly'. You have to piece the jig-saw at every stage. The above is based on Feng Shui analysis using the Flying star and later analysing the Shapes and Form. -- From another angle -- If you are not utilizing the combination of Flying Star and Shapes and Form, Here, you need to determine the frontage of the house. Once the frontage is determined, check to see if the water position is in front and not the back of the house. Under the second `method' you then apply the Four Symbolic Animals concept ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/four.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Cheui May, 1. You should as you mentioned use curtains at the large sliding glass back door. 2. Is there any way of placing two potted plants on both sides of the steps or at the landing area of the steps. 3. Is it possible for you to draw a rough sketch of the triangle wedge shape or the area of the room u are occupying now. Where best, especially the bedroom, kitchen and the living room should not be having an odd shape. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Berth, It is best to attach a graphic file under the conference: " Conference for Attaching Layout " as this is easier to look and understand your situation. By the way, you mentioned that the `west' wall has an entrance but no doors. Does it mean that your bedroom does not have any doors. Thanks and looking forward to your layout sketch of the bedroom. Cecil
  10. Dear Elena, Grateful, if you can clarify: 1. "My front door opens to a wall". Does it mean that there is a small open space outside your front entrance area. Where is the fish tank going to be placed in relation to the door. 2. What is the shape of the fish tank. 3. Does it exceed 33.3 percent of the study room area or just small tank. 4. Can you let me have the flying star numbers for the main entrance and the study room. 5. Where best, the breadwinner should not have the element: strong water or weak fire element. 6. If you are standing at the main entrance, looking outside, the fish tank should not be at the right side of house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Anon, There are differing views on this: 1. Some FS practioners find it inauspicious to have the face of the clock face into the living room. Here, it is similar to the concept where it is advisable not to have a clock `face out' of the living room window. It is acceptable if the clock is `meant' to bounce an inauspicious poison arrow. 2. As a clock tower is a narrow tower, and if in a child's room, it is located on the right side of the window, this is considered "penmanship" peak where it is auspicious as this represents a child can become a scholar. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Anon, Usually, the "sunken" part or the lower level can be the living room. Quite often, many houses have `split-levels where there are steps leading up to the dining room. Here, it is acceptable for the living room to be at the lower level. Usually, this lower level is level to the house exterior or slightly raised up. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Sandra, Usually, the main entrance door is the door: 1. Where you have your unit number on. 2. It can also be the door you frequently use. In your case, since you use the door at the "East facing" frequently, this should be considered your main entrance door. What you can do is to check which door is more auspicious to you. The east facing or the North door. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Anon, Since you have the alternative method, and since the date of birth is available, why don't you check it out for yourself. If I am not mistaken, it should also come to the same `Li' or South trigram. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Anon, I agree with you. Currently, there is no facts or statistics (if any) to show that King sized beds are `worse' off. So long as it is a `whole' bed such as a King sized bed, in my opinion, there is no negative effects to prove otherwise at the moment. Warmest Regards, Cecil Hi Anon Don't frighten me! Actually we like King size bed. Can turn here and there ,HAHA. Besides changing the bed, do anyone out there have any more ideas? I don't know why but I can't believe or rather don't understand that why king size bed can led to divorce???? Thanks Stupid Anon Dear Anon, Why cant you simply exchange the King size bed with the Queen size bed. Well I read in the magazine that one of the reason there is 90-92% divorce rate in California is that the majority of the people use King size bed. I do not know how true this is but it makes one wonder. Your husband need not to believe in feng shui. There are other ways you can convince him to change the bed. Simply tell him you don't like the huge bed. It takes up the whole room etc. Good luck! another anon
  16. Dear Sandra, There are two issues here: 1. A mirror facing a window. 2. Whether the wall or the location around the wall is auspicious or inauspicous. Usually, it is best not to have a mirror facing a window. But this depends on how far away the mirror is. The rationale behind this is that if this is the frontage of your house, it is best to allow natural lighting flow into the house. If there are poison arrows outside the house, it would most likely reflect into the house onto the mirror and cause `twice' the problem as a mirror image has been created within the house. If it happens to be an inauspicious sector under Flying Star analysis, you will bounce back twice the `bad' luck. The above are the two major considerations when using the mirror. In one hand, the curtains help for external `influences' only. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, Please see below:- This is the same concept as a full height screen. Some practioners would advise the use of a wind chime in between the two doors. However, one should get proper consultations before placing a wind chime. (Especially if one is placing at the NE, NW and West) locations of the house. A hanging mobile or crystal is not advised. This is because in my opinion, I personally see no rationale for the use of a crystal or a hanging mobile. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Michael, Since you mentioned that almost the entire house has overhead beams; it is thus impractical to place `cures' at all beams, in your situation, you can:- 1. Above the bed location, use 6 ancient Chinese coins tied to a beam. Here, the 6 coins can be used on only one beam to symbollically cover 3 beams. Therefore, you do not need to place 6 ancient Chinese coins at every beam but one immediately above the bed. 2. Using the above guideline, you can place 6 coins at certain locations that you or your family frequent. For example if the sofa set happens to be directly below a beam, than place one set of 6 coins. 3. Where possible confine placing the coins only e.g in the master bedroom or the living room. My advise is that it is best not to use too many coins. (Especially since I am sure what is your element and its strength). Feng Shui is about balance even if you have lots of beam, one should also `moderate' the use of the 6 coins whenever possible. Try to use the `Customer Service" concept, I proposed. I.e., do not use cures all at once but space them out e.g. two weeks at a time. Other major considerations are the influence of the Flying Stars in each sector. If the sector has too much metal element or at locations such as North East (Devil's gate), NW and West (Metal element locations), try to moderate the use of coins unless you are sure that there are no `negative' effects especially if no full FS audit has been done. The saying goes `better safe than sorry'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Anon, Here, there are several view-points: 1. Some Feng Shui practioners will `insist' that one should use an immovable object rather than a picture. 2. Some Feng Shui practioners will advise you that one can hang pictures but watch what you hang. Under para 2, the advise is to hang a picture of a mountain scene. Excellent examples are: a picture of Mount Fuji in Japan or the Himalayas. Scenes such as this. Where best, avoid pictures of water scenes such as fountain, fishes swimming. Other alternatives are calligraphy works or pictures of Chinese paintings with a backdrop of a mountain / village scene are acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Mercury, Please do a SEARCH for fish tank. I believe, there are numerous references in this forum where I had provided advice on what to look out for -- a fish tank. You should not have a problem finding or reading in detail what are the do's and don'ts here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Anon, Please take note that a mountain star must be an immovable object. The globe should not rotate even if it has a `stable' base holder. It is good to `visualise' that ideally it has to be a solid immovable object. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Michael, Grateful if you can let me know whether the beam is wooden / metal or concrete. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Anon, Yes, this is the case. For example, at the main entrance area, where one can activate the water star, i.e. clear space in-front. One cannot possible activate a mountain star at this location. The logic is the same e.g. in the living room where one should not activate a mountain star. If there is a wall and a mountain star is `available' one cannot activate a mountain star and a water star. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Anon, Thanks for your comments. Currently, the locations for activating the water stars is quite standard. It is usually activated:- 1. At the frontage of the house i.e. outside the `front of the house'. 2. The living room. Where, it is not suppose to be cluttered with tall furniture especially within the sitting area. We will at a later date, provide further guidelines to it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Anon, Please see below:- The best `cure' is to see if you can have a screen behind your bedroom door or place a linen cupboard before entering the door. A potted plant can be used but in my opinion less effective for a `C' configuration. However, you can try to see if can help. As you can always remove the plant afterwards. Another method is to place a semi-circular mat facing away from the bedroom door and `cutting' or `slicing' the steps of the staircase leading to the room. Do try the above out. Warmest Regards, Cecil
