Hi Master Cecil, after collection of key from Seller, can we go in to take measurement (happen to be inauspicious date for the next 2 days) and perform the 1st time open door later (3rd day after key collection) or we can skip the whole entire 1st time open door and perform the renovation ceremony? 1st time opening day is most important? Reply: On an inauspicious day, so long as go in for the 1st time: A simple procedure is just to throw in a pineapple. Before doing so yell: Ping An Fai Cai, Huat Ah! No further procedures need be performed anymore for 1st time open door

Hi Cecil, can we clarify that we are only considered moved-in when we sleep in the new place overnight? After doing your recommended move-in procedures. Before actual move-in, can we bring in old/new things and furniture, or shower or cook during daytime before the actual move in? This is to check whether our appliances like stove and heaters are defective after some time. Reply: Yes, move-in means sleep overnight Bring in things before move in is common. Not considered as move in Thanks for clarifying 👍🏻 Our defects and renovations took much longer than expected so we wish to move some things in and test out the kitchen and toilet appliances during weekends.

In my opinion, there are two schools of thought. The Buddhist are very flexible and allows for even the joss urn to be removed, cleared and clean. Some Taoist are told not to move the urn. As there are so many variations, most of what wants to clean goes more into the realm of common sense. Even dusting to “washing” the figures (if any).
