This is one way of analysing the earth element:-

"Quoting the following:-

Q2. As there are 5 elements but only 4 seasons:
Fire is strongest in Summer,
Wood is strongest in Spring,
Earth is strongest in Autumn, and
Water is strongest in Winter (right? I came up with this with only common
sense)
>What happen to Metal then? Does Metal dominate any season?
Very good reasoning. And well, actually if you look at Feng Shui a lot comes
from reasoning.
Well what you got is the Earth Wrong, It should be Metal. Actually there are
only 4 seasons right? So Each element is represent by the 4 seasons except
for earth. Earth is found in every season. But only dominate in the 3rd
month of each season. Where all the previously strong element becomes weak
as it awaits the birth of the other season."
1. On what you say; do think about this:-
1.1 Many homes are not only made of brick, sand and stone; but also majority of homes has to be built on solid foundation of earth. So what is your reasoning like?
1.2 In our world; is either you stay on LAND or stay at SEA most of the time. All homes on land are built on solid foundations. While at sea, there are some homes that are built with wooden supports: called Kelong.
1.3 In fact, your reasoning that all homes made of brick sand and stone is wrong. Many homes especially in the suburbs of the US of A (USA) are made of wooden structures. And many so called homes made of sand and stone : are actually made with re-inforced (steel) and concrete.
1.4 Looking at it from another perspective: even if the structure is say made of concrete; painting over it : may change it's element: for example, painting a room green createsa predominant: Wood = green element etc....

These are other major considerations:-
1. Location, location and location.
1.1 This has one of the highest weightage : Shapes and Forms Feng Shui.
1.2 Even under this location, location and location "thing" external Shapes and Forms far outweigh; looking at just the micro-Feng Shui of the interior or layout of a home.
2. The "BIG PICTURE" or in many of the psychological concepts mentioned by motivational speakers the word "THINK BIG".
2.1. For example, how many can say that they stay in a home or premises that is not "anchored" on solid ground? As mentioned previously the only people not under this category could be on a ship; a structure on the sea e.g. a Kelong or wooden homes on the sea?
2.2. Thus, everywhere we step we are stepping on "earth" be it sand, pepples, concrete, grass that thrives on sand... etc.... so this thing about earth, here, earth there is no big deal.
