Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 25, 2011 Staff Share Posted August 25, 2011 The most interesting thing that came to my mind at the newly TOP Kovan Residences is: Yin and Yang. The colourful soft (YIN) YELLOW/ RED cushions are placed on hard (YANG) granite seats. Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 25, 2011 Staff Share Posted August 25, 2011 1. It is good to have a keen eye when looking at Feng Shui.2. In this example, the SAME block, with stacks exactly facing the SAME direction. But qi flow from the balcony towards the living room cum dining area could be entirely different.3. Why different? 4. Take a look at the second photo. You will notice that the balcony railings on the RIGHT use traditional metal rails spaced so that there are gaps to allow air to flow into the apartment.5. Now contrast this with the full panel glass framed in metal on the LEFT. Although there are some fine gaps between the glass for expansion purposes, based on Shapes and Forms and even common sense; this type of design or material does not allow air to pass thru at the lower levels. 6. Thus, under Shapes and Forms, the preference has to be the railings that let air in and out. Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 25, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted January 25, 2018 The Simon Road market was once located at Kovan Residences. Did you see the market where now Kovan Residences stood today:- In Feng Shui, it is less auspicious to stay in a location of former slaughter of animals.. Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 25, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted January 25, 2018 I12 Formely Katong Mall formerly Jo Chiat Market Katong Mall failed spectacularly in the 1990’s and closed in the early 2010’s. It was given an extensive makeover and given new branding as a niche mall in recent years. Yet,the turnover of shops in this mall is high. And even it’s niche food court closed recently... From a Feng Shui point of view; it is less than ideal to be located at a former market area. Then, the market stalls also spill along Joo Chiat Road before the defunct Tung Kin English School. 1966’s map showing the Joo Chiat market: In the above 1966’s streetmap, one can also see the shoreline and the wavy lines at the bottom of it represents the sea. Map of the area In 2018:- Map of 2007 showing the former Katong Mall. The latest I12 or catchy phase for “I want to” shop shares this outline. As this mall underwent extensive A&A works but not totally torn-down:- In fact the boss of Yeo Teck Seng, Mr Yeo which opened an emporium “House of Kitchenwares”.. later went to Hong Kong and committed suicide due to failing business.. especially due to his expansion, there. Many shops and restaurants cane and went including Nados chicken of Malaysia, sporting goods shops; cafes; Challenger.. So fat the two: UOB wealth management and market place is still there.. I would not be particularly excited to buy a property or rent a shop in such an area.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 2, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted February 2, 2018 Nim collection 1st Phase just launched.. From the Singapore street directory of 1966 till today; this piece of land has always remained vacant. This is good news .. as it is considered a virgin or “clean” plot of land. The exception is that the 2017 map shows drainage at this development. 2017:- 1970’s:- 1966 shows the whole are undeveloped.. or pre Ang Mo Kio.. It is good to dig out the history nowadays.. given all the useful readily resources like these past historical maps. Snapshot of the URL for Nim Collection. Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 3, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted February 3, 2018 Nim Collection Flying Star Directions of N1, S2 and SW1. For homes with more than 1 storey high, often one should also look out for or superimpose the layout of one level onto another. For example, when I superimpose the level 1 layout with that of level 2, the stove is directly above the bed-head as shown in red marking "A":- In addition for level one, look out for a toilet directly above areas like the main door, living room sofa, altar if any and toilet if any above a stove.
