Staff Cecil Lee Posted October 22, 2011 Staff Share Posted October 22, 2011 The bad news: The main entrance door is facing the staircase. Worse still; the stairs is sloping downwards. The Good news: By (Singapore law) all doors leading into staircases has to be closed all the time. As these doors are usually 1/2 hour fire rated. For this illustration; most likely, the development (site) is still work-in-progress.Location: New HDB flats @ Havelock Road. Block 56 Havelock Road. Staff Cecil Lee Posted October 22, 2011 Staff Share Posted October 22, 2011 In summary, if we stand at the main entrance door and can see stairs leading downwards; this symbolises "money down the drain".As mentioned, previously, by Singapore law, the staircase door by right should be closed at all times. If so, if the stairs cannot be seen; "it no longer becomes a threat" Quote On 10/22/2011 8:10:54 PM, Anonymous wrote:The bad news: The mainentrance door is facing thestaircase. Staff Cecil Lee Posted April 20, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted April 20, 2020 Note: Good news is that all staircase doors must be closed all the time in Singapore. Thus all such doors have an auto door closer.
Ayym
The BTO flat that we wanted to get is facing the stairs, but we are not sure if its facing down or upwards. Found a floor plan online, seeing the floorplan, it looks like facing downwards. In this case, how can we prevent it?

Anyway, by law, it is mandatory to keep the staircase door always closed at all time. This is to prevent especially (touchwood) smoke from a unit on fire from spreading to this emergency stairwell exit.

We are looking on 143 (based on the picture). In front of the main door actually the stairs. Its Alkaff Breeze (Feb 2021) project.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted June 8, 2021 Author Staff Share Posted June 8, 2021 1. Thank you for the site map. 2. If the front door is within marking in red "X" then the front door is literally not directly facing the staircase door. 3. However, there are some who says that if one stands at the front door, if one could see the stairs then this is inauspicious. 4. Fortunately as mentioned under my earlier reply, it is mandatory under Singapore law that such emergency exit doors must be closed at all times. 5. It is considered a Sha Qi if the front door faces partial staircase wall as shown in the example via a "z":-

Assume for the #143 unit the main door looks like its facing downhill staircase correct?

Staff Cecil Lee Posted June 20, 2021 Author Staff Share Posted June 20, 2021 In Singapore, it does not matter if a unit front door faces an emergency exit staircase. Why? LOOK (closely) HERE… Frankly, there is no need ever for such a Notice! It is understood! Location: DBSS Belvia at Bedok Reservoir. Under Aljunied Hougang Town Council. Try leaving the door opened despite been warned and in Singapore, the courts may sent the offender to the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for two weeks observation. And if found nothing wrong with the persons' HEAD, the Judge may either fine the person or instead get free meals and "starbucks" in there!

Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 27, 2022 Author Staff Share Posted March 27, 2022 Question No. 3. The West/SW area is not good for the Kitchen, may I know what is the negative outcome? Is it possible to have a remedy for this? Hi [hidden], See, reply in >> below:- Hi Master Lee, Thank you for the reports, and such short time to prepare. However, there are several questions which I would like to clarify regarding the report. Not sure if the questions are legit or beyond what we are paying for, if not applicable, please just ignore. 1. Under "Best Direction", is that the 4 best direction for the Bed and the Work Desk? >>Yes, this is correct 2. I understand that the Living Room and the Master Bedroom is where we are going to spend almost all the time in the house. At both of this direction, there are the illness stars. You have indicated need to be balanced for Health, could there be a possible remedy for this? >>Yes, can be balanced for Health. It is even easier to be balanced. 3. The West/SW area is not good for the Kitchen, may I know what is the negative outcome? Is it possible to have a remedy for this? >>How suitable is the unit to the main breadwinner where : Frontage 10marks, Kitchen 10 marks and Main bedroom 10 marks. It is an indicator to show whether the house is suitable or not. This 30 marks will affect the total score that's all. Kitchen at West or SW although not suitable is not critical. FIRE @ HEAVEN'S GATE = NW >>Unlike the 2nd choice where there is a major impact of the kitchen at NW sector. Kitchen at NW is then a real red flag.
