Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 31, 2011 Staff Share Posted December 31, 2011 1. The Tropica and Waterview @ Tampines From a Feng Shui point of view, be extra careful when buying properties especially with moving water such as an uncovered drain or canal. 2. In this case, developments such as The Tropica, Waterview and even Temasek Poly is near to an open drain (canal). 3. Based on the orientation of the sites especially the uncompleted Waterview and The Tropica; the entire site is considered facing South-West. 4. On further examination, the canal or drainage drains towards the sungei bedok: if you can see the purple marking showing the drainage towards sungei bedok. Since the two plots are facing South-West, based on Feng Shui principles; the best water flow is from right to the left of the frontage of the site. 5. For other developments, do take note this simple principle for water courses: 5.1. In a micro-level; especially for apartments, often the facing direction is the balcony view. 5.2. Stand inside the balcony and take the reading. If there is an open drainage outside of the home; for apartments that can see the drain (canal); ideally the water should best flow from right side to the left side of the balcony for facing directions of NE, SE, SW and NW. 5.3. If your facing direction is North, South, East and West, then the opposite is true. Best that the drainage is from left to the right side. (When standing inside the frontage e.g. living room or balcony looking outwards). 6. For sites such as in the example; if you intend to buy an apartment; most condo developments have a specific orientation especially in the two examples of The Tropica and Waterview where they positioned their site towards the Bedok Reservior. 7. The Bedok Reservior is a pool of water and this is an added bonus for such sites. 8. At the opposite end, there are other new developments such as Waterfront Waves and Waterfront Keys. These two sites are the closest to a canal that flows as a the tributary towards Sungei Bedok. 9. Waterfront Waves and Waterfront Key For the developments at Waterfront Waves, especially stacks highlighted in YELLOW of BLOCKS H, G and F and for Waterfront Key Block 768, these stacks are generally SOUTH facing. 9.1 Thus from the above example, stacks facing South should have water drainage from LEFT to RIGHT. But when standing in the living room looking outwards, for all these stack, unfortunately, the drainage flow is from RIGHT to LEFT. By right for South facing stacks, the drainage should instead best be from LEFT to RIGHT. Thus, based on Macro-Feng Shui, these are not the best stacks.
