Staff Cecil Lee Posted June 4, 2012 Staff Share Posted June 4, 2012 Please refer to attachment.1. In my opinion consideration various factors like fan coil unit etc....1.1. So far the best choice is marking "A". Provided the Sound system speakers or Hi Fi or TV is not next to the altar. (Next often means best to give around 1 metre distance from such sources. As it is "in-polite" to have the speakers barring away music or sound next to the altar.1.2. Other "last resort choices include" marking B or C. But, make sure that there is no direct sun-light that shines towards the altar. Or again, the sound system, hi fi or TV is not ext to the altar. 1.3. Never place the altar anywhere along zone marking "X" as this wall is sharing the same wall as the toilet.1.4. Never place the altar directly below the FCU. Thus if the FCU is not in the way, and there is no open window between the sink and the outer-wall; again the last (last) resort may / could be marking "Y". However, if altar is at this location, it is crucial that the height of the altar table top must be at 49 3/4 inches (plus minus) if it is facing the dining table.1.5. Avoid placing altar at marking "Z". Quote On 6/4/2012 1:24:28 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear master, I would like toset up an altar in my newapartment. The buddha we prayto is ?v???. myfs_155016
Dear Master, thank you very much for your advice. My interior designer has a very interesting idea in the altar design, but I am doubtful about its appropriateness, and would like to seek your advice again.1. Per my request, she located the Altar in location "A". However, she had the altar designed with transparent (glass) backing, and is about 6" away from the wall (there is a gap between the back of Altar and Wall). Is this acceptable? The Altar sits on top of the TV console too.2. In seconddesign option, she had it made like a rectangular box that is wall mounted (suspended)in location "B". There is a spot light above the buddha. Is this acceptable?3. The 3rd option is to have the altar in location A, and have the TV and sound system placed on the opposite wall. That would mean that the Buddha is facing (watching) the TV, may not be exactly in front. Is this acceptable as well?Thank you.
