Auspicious number of steps

Hi there, were planning to renovate our house. And of them is the ground floor. We need to change as well the stairs' steps. I am confused about the number of steps.. Ours is straight stairs no landing or platform.. Now my question here... Is the second floor itself is included on the number of steps? If its not included we have a total of 18 steps. If we will raise the ground floor one steps will be deducted so a total of 17 steps.

The moment one step onto the first step to the 2nd floor landing should be counted.

ohh so we have 19 steps that include the second floor. How about the Oro Plata Mata beliefs? Is it true?

These are some considerations:
1. Feng Shui is Feng Shui.
2. While Oro Plata Mata is native to Philippines. And if I understand the words correctly it simply means : Gold, Silver and Death (3rd step).
3.Please note that your resource on Feng Shui is based on my past postings.
4. While this every 3rd step e.g. 3, 6, 9, 12 of that Oro Plata Mata (whatever) is nothing to do with the Chinese culture.
5. Thus, I have say this: go somewhere else and seek advice on that matter.

Question: Hi Master, my query is just quick only regarding the landing of the stairs. Should it be oro or plata also? But the end top stairs is oro..


1. The reason we want users to post question in the forum, is that most often than not, such advise questions may be asked many times, so it beneficial for others users once we answer it one time.


2. As far as Feng Shui is concerned, auspicious number of steps are as follows, or which you can see from this link:-

1,2, 5, 10, 13, 14, 17, 22, 25, 26 etc...

3. As for the non-feng shui Oro Plata Mata concept, based on the chant (Gold, Silver, Death). If you match the the sequence, the Mata step is always inauspicious under the feng shui. But as for the Oro or Plata one, it is not necessary all Oro or Plata one is auspicious. Hence, using the feng shui guide in para 2 is a bit less ambigious for this.

Steps count

Now I figured how to express my question properly master.  Every set of stairs I just need to have this numbers of steps between each floor?
