Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 26, 2013 Staff Share Posted August 26, 2013 In the past, it is common for HDB flats to install some sort of a shade: be it a concrete shade or such panels. Thus, in the past, whenever one sees such panels protruding from a block of flats; this often implies that such stacks are facing the afternoon sun.Nowadays especially new flats built from 2010 onwards don't seem to have such "refinements" anymore. Staff Cecil Lee Posted May 27, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 27, 2015 With the extended overhang above this 2nd storey stack/unit at block 664A Punggol Drive; One can notice that even at around 3.30pm, the extended overhang roof helps to shade the fa?ade of this unit's room. However, in general, the lower the stack/unit; the greater the range of shade vs afternoon sun hours.
