myfs_159879
Good evening.i have been reading your advices on building a house. My house is already finished. I just want to ask for advice if i counted my steps correctly. Please give me advice.my staircase have a total of 17steps. But i have a small midway landing on the 5th step. Which means. 5(auspicious)+12(inauspicious) = 17(auspicious).is my staircase good? Or do i need to change something? Your reply is highly appreciated.. Thank you very much.. I will be attaching a photo of my drawing.. Thank you

myfs_159879
Thanks for the quick reply.just want to clarify. The midway landing will not affect the counting? Because i saw in 1 of your illustrations that you need restart counting after midway landing.Thank you
Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 22, 2014 Staff Share Posted December 22, 2014 Frankly, it is all in your English. In your sketch you wrote and I quote: "This has a SLIGHTLY bigger step....."Check your English. What does SLIGHTLY mean.In my opinion; based on what you wrote above; I replied based on your judgement. Is it correct ?thank you

Isit correct ?thank youFrankly, common sense comes to play, here.No offense; The question is similar to those who are seeking a Yes or No answer. Much like some police interrogation techniques. If I were to blindly answer this question: then it goes back to No, the midway landing should BE considered. As often it is truly a landing. Why common sense? If one is able to continuously walk up EACH step without having to use another step; even if there is a slight landing; then it should be considered continuous even with a small landing. Here Qi is said to still be in a continuous flow. Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 23, 2014 Staff Share Posted December 23, 2014 Sometimes it is not about ebony or ivory. Or hot or cold. Or Yes or No?Often, "It depends".Another concept is to visualize the flow of qi. myfs_159879
Thank you. I got your point already. When you said "If one is able to continuously walk up EACH step without having to use another step; even if there is a slight landing; then it should be considered continuous even with a small landing." our small landing dont need extra step to go to the next step. thanks for your help.. Highly appreciated.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 9, 2017 Staff Share Posted March 9, 2017 Under symbolism, the untiled steps are separate from the tiled ones. Thus the count is: 5 steps = untiled steps and 1 step for the unit
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 11, 2017 Staff Share Posted March 11, 2017 Under symbolism; Please see photo:- The 4 grey tiles are considered as a total of four (4) steps. While under symbolism; the single or lone white marble is considered as one (1) step.
