myfs_160608
Dear Master, We would like to place a Guan Yin altar in our living room and hope you can kindly help us. Attached picture is our floor layout which shows our existing locations of built-in TV console, shoe rack, dinning table, sofa and cove light false ceiling (blue dotted line) etc. We basically have a very small living room and we are having a headache on where to place the altar. 1) It seems like location A (facing door) is the only location to place the altar (Orange box) and we have to also install a full height wall partition (black box) behind the altar. I was advised that the partition wall should be in-line with the wall (dotted-black lines) as a rule of thumb. I understand that you have mentioned in the forum that facing door may not be idea. I am not sure if facing the balcony/sofa is a good idea since we may be relaxing and watching tv at that location. One concern is that the passage way between the dinning table and altar is very narrow. Moreover, the partition wall will shield the light from the balcony and make the living room area near the main door to be very dark. 2) Having the altar at location B is also challenging, because the full height wall partition will cut in the middle of the cove light false ceiling. 3) Facing the dinning table also does not seems to be good. 4) May I check if the width of the altar table has to be in-line with the door (dotted black line)? Since the passage way between the dinning table and altar is very narrow. We are considering a smaller width altar and wall partition. Thank you for your tremendous help.
