myfs_161224
I read that a mirror facing balcony is in general a bad idea.My house is facing SW2/SW3 with view from balcony is river and many green trees. I am just wondering if it is safe to install a sliding one-way mirror that will face this view to cover my open kitchen. One-way mirror is a glass but can function as a mirror depending on the ankle. I hope master can help me to give clarity.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 14, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2016 Thanks for your photos. This aspect of Feng Shui has more to do with common sense and privacy then Feng Shui. One way mirror can be highly reflective. And depends on various considerations:- 1.It is acceptable to placesuch a mirror for privacy. 2.But if the mirror is highly reflective especially at the outside; and if your home is a SW; thus there is bound to be some afternoon sun;do consider the afternoon sun rays andthe reflective properties of glass. 2.1. Common sense: It might not get approval from your Managing Agent. 2.2. At night, when one turns on light in say the kitchen; this one-way mirror may not"work" anymore... 3. Under Feng Shui, geomancers will have to determine if the sector the mirror is in has auspicious or inauspicious star numbers. Ifit is auspicious; it is said to bounce twice the good luck if not, it is a double edge sword. Staff Cecil Lee Posted April 18, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 18, 2020 Related: Extracts from the above link:- Case Study 11A: Mirror, mirror on the wall? 1. West wall has inauspicious combinations of #2 sickness with #5 misfortune/sickness. Thus not ideal for a mirror on that wall. As it can bounce back twice the bad luck! 2. Equally the foyer leading into the home is also partially at West. 2.1 And Also NW has the inauspicious #3 with #4 = Quarrels, conflicts and legal entanglements. Thus also less than ideal for a mirror, there. Note: 1. Kitchen/stove at NW is also affected by Fire at Heaven's Gate. Already covered in earlier postings. Thus not discussed, here. Question: Where is the wealth sector? 2. Double current prosperity #8's also wasted at North - utility and bath area. Case Study 11A: Can I simply install a mirror in my home? 1. Flying Star Feng Shui can reveal the qi within a room. 2. In this example, it is best not to install a mirror at the East = dining room wall. As there is a nasty combination of #5 misfortune/sickness with #2 sickness at this sector. 3. Ideally, mirror should also not face the main door. 4. Main door has the #3. Learn what #4 with #3 means. 5. Pity also the current prosperity double auspicious #8's are wasted at the kitchen.
