Staff Cecil Lee Posted April 3, 2017 Staff Share Posted April 3, 2017 Credit: The Sunday Times, Singapore 02 April 2017 Another iconic landmark: No. 22 Hillside Drive known as Lakshmi Villa by mid-June 2017 will be torn down as it was expensive to up-keep and maintain this property. Formerly it was jointly built via a joint-venture with Mr Benson Ho, 60, a property developer from Invest-Ho Property to develop this 20,000 square feet property. What was unique to this property is that it has one of the last "clear" wells in Singapore. And the family regards this "clear" water as good luck. In the 1950's most bungalows in Katong area for example were only 10,000 square feet. Thus, this site was double the usual bungalow size. This plot by today's standard is large. In it's place are two condominiums.
