npoese
Hi,I am a west person in a house with a front door that faces east. I understand that this is "Total Loss." We?re now using that entry as a craft room, we?ve placed a mirror over that outside door, and in the spring would add lighting in the front, and develop the south door. We actually use the door to the garage as our entry and it faces north. One of the books that we read said that the front door is really the one that you actually use, not necessarily the door designed as the "front door." Is this true? Many thanks, Neil and Sarah
Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 10, 2000 Staff Share Posted January 10, 2000 Dear Neil,Yes, it is very common for Feng Shui practitioners to `agree' that the front door need not necessarily be the main entrance door. It can be the garage door. However, some FS practitioners also go further to mention that if there is a discrepancy, the main door should be the one with the house number on it. Alternatively, the house number be placed on to the alternative door i.e. the garage door.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 1/10/00 6:40:04 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi,I am a west person in a housewith a front door that faceseast. npoese
Thank you for the reply, CecilNow that we know that our front door faces north, we find that it is the Disaster sector, since I am a west house. What can we do about this? The door appears to be only about seven degrees from northwest, which is Prosperity. If necessary, we could move the door to the northwest. We have hung a crystal above the outside of the door, and placed a mirror facing out toward the cars in the garage as well. The door enters into a shop and laundry room as well.We are confused because in doing the Limited Flying Star it said Dispute / Quarrels / Frustration but not Disaster for the north side. We have also tried to work through Derek Walters' Feng Shui Handbook, but it is confusing. He has us both as earth, with the north side being auspicious. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,Neil and Sarah Poese Quote On 1/10/00 8:42:16 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Neil,Yes, it is very common forFeng Shui practitioners to`agree' that the front doorneed not necessarily be themain entrance door.It can be the garage door. However, some FS practitionersalso go further to mentionthat if there is adiscrepancy, the main doorshould be the one with thehouse number on it.Alternatively, the housenumber be placed on to thealternative door i.e. thegarage door.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 1/10/00 6:40:04 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi,I am a west person in a housewith a front door that faceseast. Administrator
Dear Neil,Please see below:------ Original Message -----From: Listmanager To: Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2000 10:19 AMSubject: Disaster at front door Quote From: "Neil Poese" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.Thank you for the reply, CecilNow that we know that our front door faces north, we find that it is theDisaster sector, since I am a west house. What can we do about this? Thedoor appears to be only about seven degrees from northwest, which isProsperity. If necessary, we could move the door to the northwest. If you want to move the door, it is best to consult a competent Feng Shuipractitioner or currently, as you are only using the Eight House Theory, another major consideration is to look at the Flying Star chart of thehouse. Here, it would be best to use the Flying Star to analyse whether the currentdoor position and if you still want to change the door position, to analysethe Flying Star chart based on the new door position (assuming that it mayor may not alter). For the house, the first priority goes to the the analysis based on theFlying Star Chart. For example, if the location of the main door is anauspicious location, this would be a plus point. Or it lessens the fact thatit is your Disaster sector. It could be worse if the current main entrance door location is anauspicious location but because, you had shifted the door, the house/themain door and thus the entire Flying Star Chart of the house may be altered. Quote We have hung a crystal above the outside of the door, and placed a mirrorfacing out toward the cars in the garage as well. The door enters into ashop and laundry room as well. If the sector is an auspicious sector under the Flying Star Chart, placing amirror outwards may undoubtly bounce away the auspciousness of that sectori.e. main entrance door. We have alsotried to work through Derek Walters' Feng Shui Handbook, but it isconfusing. He has us both as earth, with the north side being auspicious. Please note that usually it is not advisable to `mix' concepts from variousauthors. Either you follow one completely or not at all. If you follow sayDerek Walter's `advice', you have to use all his ` tools ' available fromstart to end.Warmest Regards,Cecil -->
