Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 28, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 28, 2018 They only sell one variety of noodles = Mee Pok The food is light but with a balanced flavour. Their cheapest $5.50 contains a unique one slice of rehydrated fish maw and a moist braised-poached melt-in the mouth half-an-egg. Portions are reasonable..but nice. Unfortunately.. one complaint is that their chilli is dull.. don't give that kind-of-kick!
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 28, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted July 28, 2018 More photos The dried fish maw before it is rehydrated with water/soup.... Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 2, 2019 Author Staff Share Posted August 2, 2019 Al Kasim Indian Muslim Food at Food Park, Bukit Panjang Community Club... (A small food corner tucked away at Level 1 of this People’s Association) This time round, I asked them to pour the gravy onto the prata. This is pretty common as the prata soaks in the gravy, making it a fuller meal. Even so, some of the sides that were dry are still crispy! Highly recommended their prata with egg. I always eat the plain ones. But tempted to try this single piece with egg is really nicely done. Not dry. This meal costs a mere $1.50/- only. What makes this stall so wonderful is their ultra fragrant, not salty mutton gravy with generous toppings of greens... But do avoid the chunks of mutton oil. Otherwise, ten times better at the nearby BUKIT Panjang Hawker Centre’s Prata stall run by NTUC... Finished the prata. What’s left is a chunk of lamb fat... Bagus! (Good) The actual stall front:-

Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 29, 2019 Author Staff Share Posted November 29, 2019 Another visit At lunch time. If their morning prata is good.. this must also be good No regrets ordering this mutton curry rice for $4/-. (With brani rice is $6/- for the whole meal). Melt in the mouth mutton meat... Spices just nice. Aromatic and not over powering like many others. P.S. Next stop Yew Mei Green condo...
Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 6, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted January 6, 2020 1. Yong Seng Teochew Mee at Block 105 #02-47 Hougang Avenue 1 Market/Food Centre. 2. Probably the best that I ever tasted! At $4/- basic bowl. 3. Generous amounts of chilli. Sauce well balanced. Very unique fine (flat) noodles...chewy, not sticky. But no fish maw found in the $4/- bowl... Did not order their Laksa, although seen someone buying it. Looks nice. But too unhealthy for me... Another popular stall is also on the same facing and level. Nearby to the open air wash basins.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 21, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted March 21, 2020 Foodgle Hub: Mee Pok Stall at Bukit Batok West Terra The other day saw many people savouring the noodles from this stall. Visually looks nice. Tried it today! No regrets! Fish ball noodles with beans sprout at $3.00. West Terra is only roughly a year old. Yet, this stalls noodles is superb. To me, it is better than any I tasted other than Yong Seng at Hougang which I reviewed earlier. Although lots of gravy was added, cannot taste the usual after taste .. or smell. Simply spicy and savoury! Cannot miss the coffee shop: at Block 451 MSCP

The only interesting thing are a small handful of fried bean curd skins. One of those that you will not eat again. The sliced red chillies are also not fresh. Staff Cecil Lee Posted September 28, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted September 28, 2020 Taste is smooth. Slightly more sourness (tangy). Most likely due to the black vinegar. Filling or comfort food.

Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 18, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted November 18, 2020 I travel everywhere for audits. This stall is at Block 724 Ang Mo Kio Food Centre called Happy Garden Opted for the $4.50 instead of the $3.50 Very generous amounts of noodles... until cannot finish it. Equally generous are the ingredients.. such as three whole succulent pieces of prawns. At other places the prawns are dry and in halves! Also generous amounts of sliced meat.. a few with fat oozing out. They automatically give a chunk of fried pork lard pieces. Unfortunately these taste state as in not wok-fresh. Otherwise the sauce is I won’t say it is outstanding but not overpowering with garlic (if any). Some durian distract around the vicinity To be honest, I was hoping for the Satay Bee Hoon stall to be opened.. But frankly, it is but a dream. Given that such stalls cater more to perhaps the evening crowd. LOL Tried this stall previously.. missed it today!
Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 29, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted December 29, 2020 Heng Lee also sells Teochew Mee Pok Or amongst my favourite... but better than average. What I like is the green chilli padi addition. Can eat again.
