Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 9, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 9, 2018 THIS IS A MODERN COMMERCIAL NOVELTY (akin to FAKE News) CAUGHT ON BY SEVERAL LOCAL BANKS MARKETING DEPT., TODAY! LOL! Li Chun on 4 February 2019: Best times to deposit money if you want to ‘Prosper’ in 2019? FAQ: Must I visit the bank or can I do a transfer from one bank account to another? Reply: As this is Fake News, it does not matter! If one has nothing better to do; then please go queue at the bank lah! Furthermore, no logic to transfer from an account (withdrawal) = isn't this considered inauspicious, first?
Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 9, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted December 9, 2018 Note: Li Chun was traditionally an important day for farmers in China. The farmers would pray and hope for a good plentiful & successful harvest with the arrival of spring!

Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 29, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted January 29, 2020 Long time ago Li Chun was the most important date as it marks the first day of planting. Thus Li Chun is based on the Chinese seasonal calendar. This was because it means putting food on the table. But as years go by, lesser and lesser Chinese are not into farming. Thus Li Chun has renegaded as one of the memorable dates in this Chinese New Year! Today, all Chinese kick-off the start of Chinese New Year on the 1st day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Thus for year 2020, the Year of the Rat starts on 25th January = 1st day of the 1st lunar month! Again, today, some Feng Shui Masters (originating from Singapore) invent a new activity like going to a bank to deposit money). And on Li Chun day.. most salaried persons have to go to work. As it is not an official holiday unlike 25th or 26th January as a public holiday.
