Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 22, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 22, 2020 We would like to clarify on the design options we could adopt for the partition at the staircase (highlighted in yellow on the layout below):
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 22, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted July 22, 2020 1. Must the partition be a full height wall that blocks the staircase view from the main door entrance completely? 2. Can the design have holes or gaps and can partially see through to the stairs from the main door? 2. We are exploring some possible designs - are the below design options ok? Please advise. Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 22, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted July 22, 2020 1. No need full height. Can be see thru 2. Photos of samples are acceptable except for comments on these:- a. Number 2 = mirror finish.. avoid... a mirror finish or reflective surface facing the main door. And also avoid the geometric patterns shown in the sample. b. Number 4 = Good luck to whoever cleans it! Collects dust and if cannot be fully cleaned... unhealthy for the lungs. Or if one has a maid this is an exceptional torture for her. Or no maid... to whoever cleans it. c. Especially Number 6 and 7 has some of the problems associated with cleaning. Although the rest also may equally be a chore to clean. Note.. all these has more to do with common sense than Feng Shui. 3. The partition at the stairs as in other examples are okay. Need not be air-tight. Can also be a display shelf.. but avoid things like the Eiffle Tower or sharp objects facing main door.
