Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 3, 2000 Staff Share Posted February 3, 2000 Dear Anon, While Fu Lu Shou figurines are not traditionally part of Feng Shui practices, they are often recommended due to their widespread popularity. 1. Frequently, it is positioned on one side of the display cabinet, overlooking the living room. 2. Avoid placing it facing a toilet. 3. Ensure it is not on the same wall as the toilet. 4. Keep it out of the bedroom. 5. Do not place it in the kitchen. 6. The rationale behind this is that since these are deities, 'respect' should be shown to 'each' of them. 7. It can be situated in the living room, for example, overlooking a window or the sofa/seat. 8. If there is an altar, it should be placed separately, such as a short distance away from the altar or on raised platforms to segregate both. Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 14, 2020 The Fu Lu Shou figurines are often viewed as mere decorations by some, but their significance lies in the proper placement and respect shown towards them. This has more to do with decorum rather than religious rituals. It is important to note that many self-proclaimed Feng Shui Masters are actually just running a Feng Shui Store. Before making a purchase, it is advisable to inquire: Is it necessary to buy from you?
