Can I put plants

Hi Cecil
I am a fire element and born in year of dog.
There is no sunlight shine to my corridor as my main door is facing a wall. A public stair case is near my main door but not pointing to my main door.
Can I place my plants at my left side (if I stand in my house) around two meters from my main door (near the lift). Do these plants enhance me if I place so far?
I had a small pot of bamboo plant(popular in this year chinese new year in Singapore) place in my living room on top of my hifi set. Is this ok?
Recently I had difficulties in finance. Does this bamboo plant placement affected me?

Usually, the plant(s) to be closer to the main door.
Where possible, (and if possible), try to have a pair (on each side) of the main door.

Since, it is not a standard placement, best to remove it.
Normally, a look at an analysed Flying Star chart should be able to see if there are imbalances within that sector especially, if it is an excess of wood element or it being used to `fuel' excessive Fire.

The best is to adopt `ZERO BASED' Feng Shui. Whatever, you have done recently remove it. Zero based implies starting from `scratch'.
