yang88
Dear cecil,Why there are no books about chinese culture. The only books available about chinese culture are about the life of Mao and the chinese revolution and 2-3 books about the Emperors of China. What about the general people and the customs. How come the overseas chinese don't write about their culture for the future generations. Thanks. Staff Cecil Lee Posted June 26, 2000 Staff Share Posted June 26, 2000 Dear Anon,You will be `surprised' to learn that there are lots of books on Chinese culture. Especially before the communists take over but unfortunately, many are in Mandarin. This is why, they are hard to find. If one were to walk into a Chinese book shop, there are lots of titles and topics (Mandarin books). In Singapore, there are several good Chinese book stores devoted to selling Mandarin books on a wide range of topics. Many Chinese classics such as the Four Scholars etc... have been interpreted in English ....Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 6/23/00 1:19:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear cecil,Why there are no books aboutchinese culture. The only books available aboutchinese culture are about thelife of Mao and the chineserevolution and 2-3 books aboutthe Emperors of China.
