Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 21, 2002 Staff Share Posted February 21, 2002 Dear Anon, 1. Chinese Astrology primarily focuses on the Year of Birth and is generally considered in my view. 2. The main advantage of Chinese Astrology, in my opinion, is highlighted on the homepage of lovesigns.net where it emphasizes the importance of understanding each other's personalities to enhance relationships and love life. 3. "Auto-suggestion" plays a significant role in Chinese Astrology, where discovering that you and your spouse's Year of Birth are deemed incompatible can influence your thoughts and actions. 4. Being mindful of such information can lead to a form of "auto-suggestion" that may impact your relationship, potentially causing disagreements or dislikes over certain matters. 5. Many individuals tend to focus on specific character traits, such as those associated with zodiac signs like Gemini or Taurus, and may internalize these traits based on the concept of "auto-suggestion." 6. Pillars of Destiny utilizes a combination of the 12 earthly branches (Rat, Ox, Snake) and the ten heavenly stems to provide insights into one's destiny. 7. Unlike Basic Chinese Astrology, Pillars of Destiny takes into consideration not only the Year of Birth but also the Month, Day, and Time of birth. 8. Each pillar in Pillars of Destiny corresponds to an animal sign based on the earthly branch, leading to various combinations or clashes with different animal signs in an individual's chart. 9. For instance, apart from being born in the Year of the Rabbit, you may have other animal signs in your Month, Day, and Time pillars. 10. It is possible that you may have the "Tiger" sign in one of your pillars, offering a sense of reassurance and understanding in interpreting your destiny. Wishing both of you Martial Bliss! Fan_of_Mr.Cecil.Lee
Dear Mr Cecil Lee, Thank you for creating this website and sharing with us your knowledge and expertise. I have been reading up more on bazi and fengshui on your forums. My partner and I are "weak water" and "strong wood". Does this mean the weak water will rely more on strong wood? Is this a good match and are we compatible? We are both year of ox and same kua number 3. However, unfortunately we have two clashes, what does this mean for us? Heaven Stem Clash between month pillar (bing) & month pillar (ren). Earthly Branch Clash between month pillar (wu) & month pillar (zi). Thank you for sharing your knowledge as always, Mr Cecil Lee. I enjoy your website.
Staff Robert Lee Posted May 30, 2021 Staff Share Posted May 30, 2021 1. weak water vs strong wood - weak water makes strong wood even stronger, while strong wood will exhaust weak water making it weaker. Definitely not as mutually beneficial as Strong Water and weak Wood. So you need Metal which strengthens the weak water and destroy the excess Wood. 2. As for the clashes, so far based on that info. Those are consider 2 x minor clashes. Generally, it is quite common for most charts to have 1-2 minor clashes/harms. However if it is 3 or more minor clash, then that would be as bad as 1 major clash or considered multiple clashes indicating, lots of conflicts between the charts. The presences of clash/harms, normally means from time to time there may still be some quarrels or conflicts and arguments. So while that is not the most ideal, compared to having 0 clashes/harms but it is still acceptable since it is below the threshold.
Fan_of_Mr.Cecil.Lee
Hi Mr Robert Lee, Thank you for your detailed and informative reply! 1. weak water vs strong wood - weak water makes strong wood even stronger, while strong wood will exhaust weak water making it weaker. Definitely not as mutually beneficial as Strong Water and weak Wood. So you need Metal which strengthens the weak water and destroy the excess Wood. Qtn: How do I incorporate Metal into our relationship? "strong wood will exhaust weak water making it weaker"- does this mean the weak water person will feel more tired easily? 2. My apologies, i found 3 clashes instead of 2: So this is taken as 1 major clash (3 minor clashes)? Earthly Branch Harm between year pillar (chou) & month pillar (wu). Earthly Branch Clash between month pillar (zi) & month pillar (wu). Heaven Stem Clash between month pillar (ren) & month pillar (bing).

Opt for Metal color schemes or patterns, such as white and gold or circle patterns, in shared spaces like bedrooms. This can help introduce the Metal element into the relationship. 2. No, being weak in Ba Zi does not necessarily mean the person will easily become tired. It simply means they are more inclined towards weakness. The goal of Ba Zi is for weak individuals to become stronger, and for strong individuals to become less dominant, aiming for a balanced distribution of the five elements, ideally 20% of each. Achieving this balance is challenging as not everything can be quantified as a percentage value, but generally, the more favorable elements you have, the better your relationships will be. The threshold for significant issues is set at either one major clash or three minor clashes/harms. Once this threshold is reached, the chart will show increasing levels of incompatibility, potentially leading to more disagreements and conflicts. Particularly, if the five element compatibility or horoscope compatibility is also lacking, it is more probable that the couple will face relationship challenges. I have observed cases with as many as three to four major clashes/harms, or five to six minor clashes/harms. Therefore, while three minor clashes/harms are concerning, they are still not as severe as those with five to six minor clashes, for instance. 4. In your situation, the five element compatibility is not mutually beneficial, and there are 3 minor clashes or harm. This results in 2 out of 3 compatibility factors being incompatible. If the horoscope compatibility also involves clash or harm, then it would be even worse. However, there doesn't seem to be any clash between the year to year, so it is unlikely to be a direct clash or harm between the horoscopes. So all the more will need more of the binding element to smoothen the relationship.
