Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 28, 2002 Staff Share Posted February 28, 2002 Note: All Ba Gua mirrors are not to be used facing in-wards. IT MUST be used e.g. above a door facing outwards.Attached, please find pictures of various type of Ba Gua mirrors:-Please refer to the attached picture file: basic-baguamirrors.jpg :-MODEL A - Traditional Ba Gua with flat mirrorDescription: 1. This type of mirror has a Traditional Green & Red Ba Gua mirror.2. It has a flat mirror in the centre. Flat mirror is meant for general purpose protection.3. It has the First Heaven Sequence Ba Gua Trigram formation.MODEL B - Modern' Ba Gua with convex mirror.Description:1. This type of mirror uses YELLOW background. Yellow is the colour usually used for Chinese charms.2. This mirror is convex to deflect Sha Qi.Note: There are flat ones which are similar. There are also concave ones, which is used to absorb Sha Qi. This type of mirror, should only be used on specific advise. As it "absorbs" and not deflect Sha Qi. 3. It also uses the First Heaven Sequence Trigram Formation.C. Ba Gua Mirror with a Yin and Yang SymbolDescription: It is similar in all aspects to Model A and B. With the exception that it does not have a mirror at the centre. This type of ba gua mirror is less commonly preferred as it does not have a mirror to deflect Sha Qi. Considered `less effective'.Model D. Circular Convex MirrorDescription: This mirror is a basic mirror. In this model, it comes with a nice (auspicious RED ream). Otherwise, any plain flat or concave mirror serves the same purpose. This type of mirror is used like all other three models A, B and C to deflect Sha Qi (when their mirrors are either flat or convex type). Or if one's door is facing another unit. And if that particular owner placed a Ba Gua mirror, the neighbour would retaliate "in a Ba Gua war " by placing this type of mirror to deflect back to the neighbour. In a no-win or lose-lose situation. The advantage of Model D is more for e.g. Catholics who may be too concerned with placing Ba Gua mirrors with the First Heaven Sequence. But rather plan mirrors may appeal better.Overall, the above four Models A, B, C and D are similar. And can be generally classified as " Basic / Traditional type of mirrors".The least offensive is the Model D convex or any flat circular type of mirrors. We will look at concave mirrors under Part III (later on).Warmest Regards,Cecil
