user283850
Hi cecil.I needed to know can we keep a bird feeder in the north of our house although it is a badlocation according to 8 mansion theory(disaster) or do we have to put it in good sector. Do we have to keep it according to flying star theory which I do not understand at all. Please advise. Thanks a lotanonymous
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 5, 1999 Staff Share Posted July 5, 1999 Hi,Frankly, the Eight Mansion Theory is only to find your good and bad directions. It has no relevance to the placement of a bird feeder. There is no impact on the placement of a bird feeder as it does not have sufficient mass to influence any location i.e. it is usually small in comparison to other `objects' within and external to the house.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 7/4/99 2:01:06 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi cecil.I needed to know can we keep abird feeder in the north ofour house although it is a badlocation according to 8mansion theory(disaster) or dowe have to put it in goodsector. How will this come up with Feng Shui -- water (for blue) and windchime (for sounds). It is sobeautiful. I used to hang it right in front of the back door under the verandah and I have birds really going for the seeds I put there and they make the chimes ring. Where will be the best position for thiskind *if* it is considered a Feng Shui item? I am moving house in about 5 or 6 weeks, so I am in the process of planning some things to put in my house for best position. The place where I want to put this isunder a garden arch where creeping jasmines now grow profusely on the right side of the driveway (facing in) at the front of the house. Will this be all right? My house is a south house, meaning the front door is facing south if you are facing the front door. Thanks for any advice you can give me.....Iz
Administrator
Dear Iz,There are quite alot of controversies in relation to wind chimes today isbecause of the following:-1. Some Feng Shui practioners after auditing a house (most likely want toearn more income) ask the household to purchase quite alot of windchimes. Some `victims' fall prey and hang more than 3 or more wind chimes.2. Recently there are many books on Feng Shui and without understandingfurther, many think that wind chimes are universally considered Feng Shuienhancers. From the above, you can understand why many who place more than one windchime get into problems. As one place a few wind chimes without properknowledge, the chances are it may be placed in a bad or inauspicious FlyingStar location. For a wind chime, it is best to avoid:-1. Wind chimes with five tines or rods. Five under the Flying Star isunasupicous. Placing a wind chime with five rods at the wrong locationspells trouble especially if it is an inauspicous location of the FlyingStar. Particularly if there is a star 5 present in the location.2. Avoid wind chimes with hollow rods.3. Hanging five or more wind chimes at a particular location can be quite`risky'. It may result in someone in the family getting a mental illness.4. Hanging windchimes opposite a yin location e.g. facing a graveyard or alocation with yin concentration: For example, the location is West plus inaddition of having quite alot of trees planted there. Too many trees createtoo yin an environment. If there is also too much water in the location, toomuch water is also considered Yin.Here, if you are not careful, hanging a wind chime e.g. on a tree mayinadvertently attract playful imps to the location due to the sound of thewind chime. In such a situation, one may not have a peaceful sleep and mostlikely have nightmares. The above `obsession' with wind chimes may lead to problems as mentionedabove. What about placing a single wind chime? Many people have never heard of Feng Shui and do see a wind chime, buy itand hang it at a location they like. There is nothing wrong in this. Mostof all, we do rely on our instinctions or six sense. Without relying on FengShui, we thus use our personal `feelings' and naturally (most of the time)we do not encounter problems such as above.Sometimes, it is better off not knowing a little of Feng Shui. This isbecause, nowadays, many of us simply pick up a Feng Shui book, read inbetween the lines and then immediately start to interpret what was said e.g.wind chimes are good enhancers and start to buy not one but a few. This iswhere all the trouble begin. Even when we eat, do we try to over eat? Weshould eat moderately. This is the same with Feng Shui.In your case, if you have not done a Flying Star analysis, you can:-1. Do not use any wind chime with 5 rods.2. You can try to place the wind chime as mentioned under a garden arch. Butdo monitor the situation. Usually this is acceptable because the impact of awind chime is not as bad as having a few around the house. Usually, based onour six sense (without relying on Feng Shui) is good enough.Since you are moving house, where possible, my advise is not to clutter thecentre-point of the house. At the same time, never place any fish tank atthe centre of the house. So far, I have known a few instances where: themale of the house gets into financial difficulties and the female of thehouse gets sick and if prolonged placement of the fish tank, may be fatal.Best wishes,Warmest Regards,Cecil-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Monday, July 05, 1999 9:09 PMSubject: Re: Bird feeder Quote Now this reminds me -- I have a blue metal windchime that has a bird feederat the top just for smallist birdies. firebard
Again, thanks for your wonderful advices to all of us. I am speaking herelike I am the spokesman for us all, but I really do appreciate each andeverything you advises whether it will benefit me or not but I have learnedso much so far from what I have already read from you site and believe me,I did read each and every thing from your site and saved some portions ofit especially the instructions on how to determine the centre of the houseand determining the front door and so on and so forth along these lines. Quote In your case, if you have not done a Flying Star analysis, you can:- I have done a partial Flying Star analysis, that is the main trouble so Iam getting more curiouser and curiouser about Feng Shui after alsoacquiring the latest book I have read from cover to cover called"The Personal Feng Shui Manual" by Master Lam Kam Chuen. His book is thecatalyst that made me seek FengShui sites on the net to learn more as there are some issues that I needelaboration. I have since put that aside in favour of your site anddownloaded the trial software(which I mean to buy with all the full modulesof soon as I get a reply from Michele Delemme when she comes back from hertime offs. Onething is that Four Pillars said that I am a metal person whereas in KOS itstated that I am a weak wood person. I have to know which one is which as Iwas born April 11, 1946, a fire dog person in the tiger hour, (4amthereabouts) at my then location of birth 14N29 120E55 zone: -8. There is abit of confusionabout the software I suppose (or was it me?)Anyway, all these knowledge will help me prepare for my move and not intendto overwhelmed me, so I am taking this step by step really, thanks to allof your advices to the group. Since I am not situated even near where youare it is sad that I cannot take advantage of your business side fully byasking you to fit me in your actual schedule of site visitation. Maybethere are other ways as I cannot afford to actually buy a returnn flightand entertainment for the three of you together. It will be nice to be asrich as Donald Trump but I am not -- (yet.) One day.......even just forpure pleasure it will be nice, huh? Quote 1. Do not use any wind chime with 5 rods. Anyway, I think from memory (I have been so attracted to windchimes in thepast even without Feng Shui knowledge at all then), I have two windchimesleft that are in perfect order. One of them, if I remember right, have 4rods and is very red in colour which I used to hang in the hallway as myfront door here faces the bathroom sink even though we don't use the frontdoor much. I live in one of those ex-federation house we have acquired 18years ago now and since moving in here, our life has been one disasterafter another not knowing the whys and wherefores of it. After becoming interested in Feng Shui stuffs recently because of myintended move, (before I came to your beautiful and wonderful site), I readsomething about "living in a divorce house" somewhere. I started analyzingthe past owners and renters of this house and found that not one of themever have anicer life, that all that ever lived here before us have marriages thatended up in divorce and unfortunately, this includes mine. We have soldthis place over a month ago now because my ex and I have divorced two yearsago (finally!!) So you can see how careful I am in wanting to make my nextplace to be more harmonious. I did not mean to have a green roof, but Inoticed that after I bought the place really so I was asking about it. I want to be well armed, forewarned and well prepared this time around ifyou can follow my line of thought here........ Quote 2. I have no intention of changing anything in the centre of my house asbefore I came to your site and was just reading up on Feng Shui books, Inoticed that there is no #5 mentioned in any of the write-ups about thatnumber. I came upon a Taiwanese born but with a Japanese father,HongKong-ist mother but now living here in Australia, when I was buying mydaughter her mobile phone in the city. I asked about that issue and he saidthat although he is not into Feng Shui, his parents practice it and heapplies it to his home in his own discretion. #5 as he said is the numberwhich is powerful, godlike if you want to put it that way, but reading itin Chinese characters or even in Japanese ones, it means "never"-- never being able to "do this or that", never being able to "achieve thisor that".(I do hope some people here are listening or reading this one........) Quote At the same time, never place any fish tank at the centre of the house. Sofar, I have known a few instances where: the male of the house gets intofinancial difficulties and the female of the house gets sick and if prolongedplacement of the fish tank, may be fatal. I used to have a fish tank in my computer room -- I do not intend to haveone live one ever again inside the house, thanks to your advice. On theother hand.....fuggedboutit!! just making things lighter........Again, thanks for all your advices.Very sincerely,Iz
