myfs_32567
Hi Cecil,Need your advice badly.I've just started a new job 4 weeks ago. The cubical I'm sitting right now is a temporary one and it belongs to another department.Just last week, I found out that I was 6 weeks pregnant with my second child. It's a joy ........ BUT yesterday, my boss told me that I'll have to move out of the cubical next week 'cos the other department needs the cubical for their new staff. You see, I've not told my boss about my pregnancy as I'm still in my probation period. My last job contract was terminated when I announced my pregnancy. I am afraid that the same thing may happen again. Moreover, my husband is out of job now.I heard that it is not good to shift places and things during pregnancy as it is not good for the pregnancy and the fetus (especially in the early weeks when the fetus is forming). Is that true ??I am in great dilema ...... First, I can't announced my pregnancy to my boss. Even if I do, I couldn't possibly ask not to move out of the current cubical. I can't possibly ask everyone to accommodate to a new staff like me, right ??What should I do ? Should I tell me boss about my pregnancy ? Should I request to stay put in the current cubical ? Should I move or not ? I don't want anything to bad or regret to happen. Please advise ........Best Regards
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 30, 2003 Staff Share Posted March 30, 2003 Dear Anon,More importantly, one try not to move the bed or furniture in the bedroom. In your case, this is unfortunately a business decision. And seems that you have to move table. In such a situation, you can still move your table but - avoid seeing the entire move. What you can do is; pack up all your personal belongings into a box, place it at a corner and (do not see the move/removal of the table) but once ready, then occupy your new table. (Do not see the entire process). Better still is if your new table is ready. Bring your things there.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/26/2003 7:40:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Hi Cecil,Need your advice badly.I've just started a new job 4weeks ago. myfs_32567
Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply. The cubical I'm moving to is currently occupied by my other colleague who will also move to another table. All the tables are already setup and all we have to do is to move our own things. So, should I move my own things to the setup table or I should get someone to move for me ? How do I avoid seeing this whole process of moving ??Thanks & Regards, Quote On 3/30/2003 6:33:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Anon,More importantly, one try notto move the bed or furniturein the bedroom. In your case, this isunfortunately a businessdecision. Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 31, 2003 Staff Share Posted March 31, 2003 Dear Anon,1. It is good to hear that all the tables are already setup. This is the key issue. Since, it would not be good if you actually see your partition torn down and see your table move over to the new location.2. As your new table is ready, wait for your colleague to move-out. For your move. If you do not have much items, simply place it into boxes such as the paper copier empty boxes. And bring all of them at one go to the new work-top. This is relatively no issue as compared to Para 1.3. This portion is not Feng Shui but more of a belief:-When you do begin to move; just stroke your back a few times and mumble to yourself ie. "to your child" that we are moving to a new and better work-table.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/31/2003 8:46:07 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply. The cubical I'm moving to iscurrently occupied by my othercolleague who will also moveto another table.
