Posts In The Front Yard

Dear Master Cecil:
I have a landed property. There is no tree or street lamp post in my view at the front of the house.
However, there is a mailbox post and a utility post at far edge of my front yard.
1. The mailbox post is at the side of the street. The size of the post is 3 inches by 3.5 inches and less than 4 feet high.
2. The utility post (where electricity wires and telephone cables are) is again at the edge of the property line. The size of the post is 6 inches by 6 inches and less than 3 feet high.
Are these post considered to be a threat? Please advise. Thank you very much.
Regards,
Anon

Since, if this is at the side of the street, and at the far edge of your front yard and (I believe) does not slice into your home e.g. like a tall thin `knife', this is ok.

If it does not slice thru your main door, this is not a threat.
You must be standing at your main door looking out. And if it is tall and thin; even a mail box stick may pose a threat.
For the mail box stand, I believe, this can easily be relocated (if necesssary).
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Dear Master Cecil:
Thanks for your prompt reply.
The utility post looks like slicing into the main entrance of my house. The utility post is thin, which is 6 inches by 6 inches; however, it is not very high -- less than 3 feet.
I cannot move the utility post because there are wires and cables inside. What should I do? Can I grow climbing vine around it? Or should I plant a couple of shrubs to cover it up from the view?
Please advise.

Anon

A couple of shrubs would be the best choice. A vine (should be used as a last resort).

Cecil
