myfs_91938
happy new year 2004 and chinese new year to everyone! :D $$$$Dear Teachers,The chinese monkey year is soon approaching on january 21 2004, i would liketo know does the new period have really big changes for specific chineseanimal zodiac years, if it affects an individuals auspicious directions interms of sleeping and study directions and income earning ability (need parttime job to support study in australia), and ; should FS activities donebefore or after the change of chinese new year.I have read through your archives about aspects bedroom fengshui forstudents. I know its not a means to an end for everything outside thebedroom, but i think its a good starting point because I spend much timestudying (maths sciences) and sleeping in the bedroom apart from attendingclasses and outings.I have been puzzled in finding a balance in arranging the bed and study deskin my bedroom. I understand the ideas according to the following links,http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm , in particularthe figure for favourable bedroom plans (http://www.geomancy.net/resources/bedrmf.gif andhttp://www.geomancy.net/resources/bedrmx4.gif ).But I am confused in how to negotiate this with my personal analysisrecommendations. perhaps u can quickly access my profile to understand muchof wot I will try to describe.I live in a 2 floor townhouse unit and the main door faces north (and otherneighbours and passing residents traffic), and my bedroom with outdoorbalcony is on the 2nd floor above an internal closed car port - car port isused mainly as a store room for shoes and lots of other things. outside onthe balcony is an old - unused unused incence pot.The shape of my room is rectangular (4x6meters). While (looking out thedoor, from inside the room) the bedroom door faces south, and is directlyopposite the bathroom door, and my bedroom door is immediately adjacentto the stairs. - ive' read having the bathroom toilet door opposite thebedroom door is not so good, will placing a door curtain help as a cure? There is a built in wardrobe on the same wall as the door. it extends fromthe wall about 1 meter. the effect of this is an exposed corner pointingdirecty in my best bed/sleeping position. There is the balcony glass sliding door (facing north, looking from insideout) directly opposite the bedroom door. Is the flow of 'chi' priority inthis aspect too?...or there is some other 'cure' i can look at.This leaves with only two walls, east and west , to place my bed head. ***at this point *** , the analysis recommends east as the best sleepingdirection; but according to the above picture links, this is not good as thedoor opens directly to the bed , and also the bad sha chi from theprotruding corner of the built in wardrobe. I would like to find a FSbalance, in this situation which would have priority, the personal analysisdirection or the shapes and forms recommendations?***also side question. my mom is strongly religious buddhist and maybe taoistand confucious and much of the home is almost resembles a temple display ofsome type. she has 2 buddha statues and incence pot, 2 huge buddha posters,2 sets of the Fu Lu Shu(shou) dieties, and about 3 laughing buddha's and (inmandarin) the "TiShiYe" alter which can only be placed on the ground.I have researched some interesting and perhaps quality chinese language FSsites relating to this aspect, but their language level is beyond mylanguage training. can you offer some insight about having so many deitiesin the home and some placement locations for them.I know this is a lengthy post and I hope you take interest in replying to myquestions and that it might answer questions which others have yet not askedspecifically in this post.thank you kindlyScott
Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 13, 2004 Staff Share Posted January 13, 2004 Dear Scott,1. Wow! Indeed, you have posted a lengthly message. I would have to reply in parts, as and when I can.2. Under this part I:In my opinion, one has to understand that many actions we take or read-up, has to do more with our minds than our spirit.3. For example, many (many) students have lived in a boarding house or a rented room and have become prominent people. Even if, the books are aimed at their body or they have a crammed living quarters. Thus, there are two key success factors:1. Avoid: Too much auto-suggestion2. Self-fullfilling prophercy1. Ills of auto-suggestionSome of us feel uncomfortable after reading too many concerns with Feng Shui e.g. crammed room etc... So long as we have a healthy spirit, good physical condition, or Man or Human factors are strong, it can often overcome physical barriers! For example, South African Mandella, was imprisoned for so many years, became president and still have a sane mind.2. Self-fullfilling prophercyWe all aware that if we think too much, it will eventually happen! For good or bad, it is entirely up to us.3. For a small roomIt is best not to look at it in-terms of how best we can place our bed or study table, since often, there is only one entry door and often, we may have to share a room etc...Given this issue, the key success is to look at it from a Yin and Yang concept. Here, first look at your study methods or study habits. Some of us, prefer to go to e.g. a quite place out site the room to study e.g. a study corner or study in a group. But, don't one your girl friend and she eye you. Sure to fail ...Often, a dormitory has to fullfil two roles: Yin (for rest) surely one must sleep. Yang: (for study). So long as you can "switch" on and off this role for the room; the better. For example, keep the room tidy. For the bed, keep it cosy. At your work table, often we hear, that try to place all your stationery and books/notes properly.Concentrate more on your exam technique. For example, many people, (including myself) find it very useful to go thru all the past year question papers etc...Worse still, I can still remember, the time I studied in a Primary School (just 8 or 9 years old). My mum told me " try (MUST) sit next to top-students. Not to copy them in exams, but rather, hopefully, perhaps, their intelligence can rub-off to mine...hmm.... But, this is true, because, even when I did post-graduate studies, it is always good to mix with hard working, students. And in-fact, often, make a point to meet each other to go thru class assignments. And during examinations, meeting at specific locations to study. Here, group or peer pressure, seems productive enough.Warmest RegardsCecil Quote On 1/13/2004 5:27:54 AM, Anonymous wrote:happy new year 2004 andchinese new year to everyone!:D $$$$Dear Teachers,The chinese monkey year issoon approaching on january 212004, i would liketo know does the new periodhave really big changes forspecific chineseanimal zodiac years, if itaffects an individualsauspicious directions interms of sleeping and studydirections and income earningability (need parttime job to support study inaustralia), and ; should FSactivities donebefore or after the change ofchinese new year.I have read through yourarchives about aspects bedroomfengshui forstudents.
