water feature for mountain 8 water 8 facing ?

Dear Master Lee,

Thank you for your wonderful website. I have 2 questions. I now have mountain 8 water 8 and time 1 in my facing . There is a deck ,stairs then a small pond right out the front door. Is this bad for the mountain 8? There is a small waterfall as well facing the doors. I plan to put a brick patio between the stairs and the pond.

Second I have to paint 3 areas and am not sure what the best color would be. The back stairs are mountain 9 water 7 time 2 . The front stairs are mountain 7 water 9 time 9, and the center hallway is mountain 6 water 1 time 8.

Dear Fran,

At a location which you had described i.e. mountain #8 with water #8, then this is known as a double #8. And under Period 8, this is considered an auspicious combination:

1. Virtual water

In certain situations, for one reason or another, some may not be able to activate water at this specific location. For example, if this is the front door and on the exterior, it could be a lobby shared with other subsidiary proprietors or tenants.

Here, since the main entrance is at the frontage with double #8's no real water - is acceptable.

2. If one stays in a landed property, one can have a pond, as you had mentioned, right in front of the house.

Ideally, the water feature should be (if one stands inside the house facing out: 1. directly outside the main door or on the left side). Since water at the right side is not good i.e. may lead to "flower of romance" or illicit affairs by either party.
