Placement of 'Ruyi

Dear Cecil,

My kua is 3.I've got thismetal Ruyi which is gold plated. I'm not reallysure whereshould I place it as I've heard from people that it should beplace on the altar or certain corners of the living room....etc.

Is it auspicious to place it in my bedroom? If I'm consideringplacing iton my study desk,will itbe okay for it to be facing rightin front of me?

Need your advice.

Dear Anon,

In the past, in the 13th century, this ruyi is actually a blunt sword in the shape of the Lingzi mushroom. It was believed that taking linzi mushroom could bestow immortality or long life to a person.

The ruyi actually symbolises "as you wish, what you want to do..."

The sword was actually meant to guard against bad intangible forces or bad forces of the dark or unknown.

Since this is considereda sword (even though it is blunt); it is still preferred to place it e.g. as a decorative item in a display shelf.

Often, it is placed facing a window, also.

Thanks alot for sharing with us some facts about "Ruyi". Since it's considered as asword, will it be fine if I place it on the same altar where there's "Kuan Yin" and also where my "ancestors" are seated? My altar is facing a window where I can see the next block of residents.

I have a similar question on the placement of ruyi, wish to know if placing it on a study desk is appropriate. Which corner of the study desk should it be on?
I have also read that ruyi can be placed behind where you are sitting? Is it appropriate to place it behind my sitting position in the study room and with the larger head facing the door?

Frankly, look at it this way. The Ruyi can be considered as a modern commercial product.
What makes it so special? If in Singapore, there are so many millionaires who have never heard or even
one.
Does someone has to become rich only after they purchased a Ruyi?

How about grandparents and parents time? Even those period Chinese shows regurgitated by Shaw Brothers in the 1970's don't ever feature the Ruyi.
However, many of us wane ourselves from baby teet after we grown a certain age. Some still find comfort in wanting to place the Laughing Buddha, Three-legged toads.
The filthy rich don't buy all these commercial products. Many are thrifty and save for the rainy day. Or the smart ones, simply have more family bonding. Such as today, it is popular to ride bicycles. Just yesterday, a father bonded with his daughter when he went cycling with a group.
In my opinion, feel free to place YOUR Ruyi, left, right, centre, behind you. If it makes you feel comfortable, then it will be fine.

And yes, one more thing: "You should consider the or rather YOUR RUYI, an object. An object of interior decoration".
When the BUYING stops, the SELLING can.
P.S. To tell you the truth, I am no fan of such products touted as in the name of Fung Sway. Sold in the name of Feng Shui to enrich OTHERS.
