  1. Dear Sophia, Look at it this way: millions or billions of people have never ever worshiped Tai Sui. Like yourself and your family, personally, I also have not done so. Nowadays, we read "clever" people putting the notion for us to do so. Frankly, it is so easy for them to tell us to do so. But, often these are marketing ploys. I believe, these "clever" people may not also have done so. We often hear of practitioners who give advise. But often the advise is only a short time e.g. 1 or 2 hours. Horror stories of "cannot use the toilet totally" etc... And the poor owner dare not use the toilet for life! Most of the time we should understand : "You stay there (your home) we don't (the practitioners)." Some would also say that all rabbits (born in the year of the rabbit) must pray to Tai Sui this year etc... But let us not forget that even if one is a "rabbit", there are many different breeds of rabbits. It is the same for those born in the year of the rabbit. There are so many different variants of a rabbit. Thus, imagine this, there are a total of 10 different rabbits:- Strong Metal rabbit Weak Metal rabbit Strong Water rabbit WeakWater rabbit Strong / Weak Wood rabbits Strong / Weak Fire rabbits Strong / Weak Earth rabbits Thus, one should best determine which rabbit one is before one comes to the wrong conclusion that for all rabbits, it will be a bad year. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Alex, Please see below:- Most likely, in my opinion, one (a hobbist) is based on passion! And perhaps this could be part of our passion could be translated to Human or man luck factors. Such as feel satisfied, good factors. While perhaps someone who has been "force" or "told" to place a fish tank perhaps may not have such a passion. Therefore, for collectors or hobbist, I always feel that this is not as important.
  3. Dear Anon, To be truly honest, it is best for you to consider seeking professional FS advise on this. This is because even for the kitchen, considerations like which part (compass direction) is the kitchen located. For the kitchen, things like certain locations e.g. NW (fire at heaven's gate), kitchen fitting the spouse etc.. have to be considered. Thus, it may sound simple, but these are some of the issues. If no major renovation is done, things like placing mirror(s) in the kitchen are some of the alternatives, used. Besides this, the kitchen may or may not be the direct or major cause of the problem(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Hoa Luong, Before one thinks that it is so easy to activate MS#9, please think again as this # cannot work alone. Rather than like many people who make a mistake of enhancing.. one should instead see if there is a leak. If so? Then, fix the leak!, First! There are so many various combinations. It is not possible for me to list out all the combinations. Just a few sample which I can think off: MS#9 with WS#7 For this type of combination (also please take not of the base / palace number. Here, it would be wishful thinking to enhance it. Rather, especially if there is also a #2 or #5 base, jolly well fix the leak e.g. use water element. If MS#9 with WS#3 Since water star #3 is related to disputes and legal problems, lighting or fire element can help in this combination. Such combinations should avoid any moving metal, here! Such as a windchime. If MS#9 with WS#5. Use metal e.g. constant metal to reduce it. To be truly honest, if you have the time to check thru many of the Period 7 or Period 8 Flying star charts where #9 is the MS, there are few if any enhancements for this star. But rather, there is often the concern especially if #9 is with #5 or #2 or #3 or #7. Even MS#9 with WS#4 can be bad for WS#4 since #9 = fire destroys water star #4 = wood element. If MS#9 is favourable in conjunction with other WS# and Base#, then, yes, it should be strengthed with a mountain. In fact, some of the worst combinations for Period 7 are those associated with MS#9 with WS#5 and Base#5. This is one of the worst combinations of MS/WS/ Base(palace) Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Winnie, As you had mentioned or "suspected" earlier that not all homes at a cul-de-sac are inauspicious. As mentioned in my previous message, "It Depends". Since no two homes are often the same, the type of curve, traffic flow around the cul-de-sac and even issues like how water flows (into the home if any or how water flows out of the house) are also important. Similiarly, I also mentioned that things like the main entrance in relation to the cul-de-sac is equally important. Other factors include the facing direction of the home. This is determined using Flying Star Feng Shui to look at the period the house was built, born or had a major renovation. How suitable the house is to the bread winner. Thus one can see that it is actually too naive to place a YES/NO stamp on a home! There are many factors involved. Including the layout plan of the home. For example, simple things like whether the property slopes backward or toilet positions, living room dining room positions. The idea here is never have a pre-conceived idea or a premature view of any homes. Even commonsense Feng Shui prevails such as where is the afternoon sun (morning sun is important but less issue than the afternoon sun). Things like an exposed e.g. master bedroom wall that soaks up afternoon sun ain't too good etc... For Can or Cannot buy service, please visit:- http://www.geomancy.sg(replace .net with .sg) There is the floor plan review or email support@geomancy.net for an online quotation for onsite Can or cannot buy service. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Sophia, Yes, so far, I have seen many people who had placed a micro-wave next to the refridgerator and even opposite it. If one sees the productive cycle flow of the five elements, metal supports water, this is a productive cycle. Thus no issue. It is not like water destroys fire under the destructive cycle flow. Which is often considered not auspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Anon, If we compare this plant's thorn's they are considered as "pussy-cat" thorns that are real soft and nothing quite like those of the cactus or rose etc... In terms of Feng Shui for a landed property; plants with thorns are actually quite common place especially at external wall windows or at corners of home to deter thieves from climbing into the home. Thus the thorns of the aloe vera seems so mild as it is part of the skin covering the white liquid gel contained within. In my opinion, pose no harm at all. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Linda, A search would reveal this article:- Posted in: Info :: Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines STICKY:: Part I - Facing direction of a home Posted on: Thu, 22 Apr 2004, 20:17 PM, Last You can also view the Part II - Facing direction of a homeunder the above conference link tohopefully, understandclearly what is meant by the facing direction of a home under the Flying Star Feng Shui method of calculation qi in a home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Linda, For the purpose of applying Flying Star Feng Shui, one should consider "Where is the frontage or the mouth of the house is?" Thus often, in many circumstances the frontage is usually the location where there is a road leading towards our "frontage" of the home. And it is not influenced by where the main entrance is. For example, if the main entrance is not directly at the front of the house but at the side of the house, this may not be the frontage of the home. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, the frontage is like the "mouth" of a person where we take in "air/oxygen" and talk and not where the main entrance is. Previously, I had written clear information of what is the "Mouth" of the house. Try to do a search for two parts of this article in the forum to have a better understanding of what is meant by the mouth of the house and how to determine it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Rose, If one is applying Ba Zi to look at how suitable a job is, then it depends on one's birth element and strength. Ba Zi will determine e.g. weak or strong earth Then with this information, it will come out with: Career associated with wealth Career associated with power and authority Careers that are suitable, but not leading to great wealth These are the guidlines that a ba zi analysis can provide on the above. Since no two person's ba zi are identical, it thus depends on one's element and strength: strong/weak : metal , water, wood, fire, earth element(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Anon, Your question reminds one of the state regulations in Singapore. Where, we are only allowed to display the national flag prior to national day and must take it down within a reasonable date after the national day is over e.g. 1 month, later. Unlike in the US, where one can display the a reasonably good condition flag all year round. In your question, it would certainly make or sense to celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY) with the decorations. But after 15 days or slightly longer, it would not make much sense to display the decorations -- other than some Chinese continue to hang a red banner "Ang chai" all year round above their door. Once CNY is over, it is best to take them down. And anticipate the arriving of the next CNY with jest! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no hard-and-fast rule, here. So long as the object is still in good or reasonable condition, they can always be reused at another location. No issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Fenger, 1. The design of a company logo is based on the Five Elements concept. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 2. Number of colors for the logo: Ideally, based on the Five elements concept, the company logo should have three colors. This applies to the company signage, also Here, three means progress. While two (colors) represents stagnation 3. Often, if the business is in an industry; then the company logo should preferably be designed to suit the industry. But often, it started off by designing a logo that suits the "person" or partnership. 4. For example, when you mentioned that you are an earth element: one has to be specific: If one is a strong earth person, then a harmonious company logo can consists of: metal with water with wood If one is a weak earth person, then a harmonious company logo can consists of: fire -
  14. Dear Anon, It is true that not all homes at a Cul-de-sac is all that bad. I personally know of clients who have done well staying in homes at a cul-de-sac. The most important consideration is where is the home in relation to the "curve" of the cul-de-sac. In addition, homes at the cul-de-sac should not have exposed main entrance door (NOT main gate). Under Flying Star Feng Shui, homes facing certain good directions are also pretty advantages. As your diagram is quite "square" don't have the real prespective of how the full cul-de-sac is in relation to the main entrance door. Hopefully if it is protected, it is still reasonable -- acceptable home as mentioned if flying star FS is applied to the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Further to what I had mentioned, below, please click on the attachment to thismessage (only available via website login to the forum account). Example 1 (file name: water-entry-exitpoint-A.gif) This file illustraion will show:- 1. House is facing SOUTH 2. Water enters this SOUTH facing housedirectly from SOUTH. 3. Water must not exit out of this house from NW (The idea here is tomake sure that under the First Heaven Sequence Trigram, the waterentering a specific trigram must be noted. For example the trigram stands for "HEAVEN". Under the 2nd Heaven Sequenc Trigram, check where the "HEAVEN" trigram lands. It lands on NW. Thus water should notEXIT NW) Example 2:- (file name: water-entry-exitpoint-B.gif) 1. Where is the house facing direction? House is facing SE 2. Where does water e.g. drainage, canal, storm drain enters the home? SW (the trigram here is WIND) 3. Under the Last Heaven Sequence trigram, SE is WIND. Thus water MUST not exit, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Pam, Thanks for the pictures. From the looks of the storm drain, there should not be an issue since it is at the front of your home and the only visible point is the gap where the water flows into it. More importantly, this is known as the "entry" point (even if water does not flow into the home. Given this senario, do check your property for any other water exit points. For example, please refer to this url: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm You need to determine the facing direction of your home. Let's say for example, your home is facing SOUTH. Please refer to the above hyperlink. If so, water entry point is "SOUTH or Heaven trigram" of the First Heaven Sequence. Next look at the 2nd template: the Last Heaven Sequence template. Where is the "Heaven trigram"? It is at NW. Thus, on your property, water should not EXIT out of NW. This is a loss of wealth under the water Feng Shui classics theory. Hope you can understand the above. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, In my opinion, there is really no issue with the red stain. Symbollically, instead, one should not use a cracked &/orchipped Hulu. Thus what you had mentioned is perfectly OK. Can still be used. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Anon, Frankly, I am not too sure how indepth the practitioner had advised your friend. Most commonly, both Shapes and Forms as well as Compass School Feng Shui is applied to a home. Thus Shapes and Forms Feng Shui does not involve time dimension. So does Eight House Theory of the Compass School Feng Shui. Usually, if Flying star Feng Shui is applied, the majority of practitioners would apply firstly the 20 Year Flying Star chart for a given home. As the above name suggests it is a " 20 Year Flying Star " of a home which consists of three variables such as Mountain#, Water# and Base #. These three total 3 variables to balance overall for a home. And a 20 Year Flying star chart is often "fixed" for a long period unless there is a major renovation and this so happens between periods such as 1984 to 2003 and 2004 to 2023. Thus in general, if one had called a Feng Shui practitioner to assess a home, he would have considered the entire home Feng Shui for quite a long period of time. However, some FS practitioners purely practise only YEARLY Feng Shui. If so, this "YEAR" practitioner would advise based on the YEAR alone. Such as #5 falls in the NW sector for this year. Thus, he may implement a cure for that sector for that year (he may or may not take into account the 20 Year flying star). If so, this type of "drastic" Feng Shui measures or Feng Shui done for that year may need adjustment since next year e.g. the #5 would fly to a sub-sector etc.. Generally, most of us see a FS practitioner once for a new home and if done correctly, do not really need yearly assessment. The rationale is that if the FS practitioner fees are very high, he would grow in wealth every other year given that more and more have to consult him. For the majority, just take note of where the #5 and #2 flies to each year in relation to the 20 Year Flying star chart would be good enough. It would be good if the FS practitioner provides one with a hardcopy report on his audit and simply take note of where the yearly star flies in is sufficient for most people. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  20. Dear Celeste, Please see below:- Placing one's feet facing the bedroom door is also inauspicious in Feng Shui as this is known as the "coffin" position. For individuals sleeping in the bedroom, one can study his/her Eight House chart to see which is the best bed-head position. One can use the free Eight House / Best Sleeping position report under geomancy-online.com to further see if one can sleep facing a better direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Cindy, When Flying Star Feng Shui is applied i.e. S2; and if your home was born or had a major renovation done between 1984 to 2003, then one should consider the various important numbers:- #8 - Current prosperity Actually, the mountain star MS#8 is directly at South while WS#8 is at the SW sector. In some homes, the gate is on the side of the home and often the front could benefit (instead) with a wall and a water postion could be determined to see if it can be at SW sector. #7 - Past prosperity but #7 became nasty in 2004. Because of the double #7's at the back of the home; if the home continues to remain as a Period 7 home, than, it would benefit from a water feature at the back of the home to neutralise the double 7's. Otherwise, good to see if the home can be changed to a Period 8 home. Thus, if we are applying Flying Star Feng Shui, some concepts relating to Shapes and Forms may not be appropriate. This is because Shapes and Forms DOES NOT consider time dimension in Feng Shui. Previously a double #7 is considered favourable prior to 2004, and a solid backing at the home was advantages at that time, but now, one has to deal with this two nasty #7's. One way is that since #7's are weak metal x2, water element is the best "cure" to draw out metal. Some other charts like NW2 and NW3 or say SE1 (Period 7) are Peral Sting charts that should take advantage of a "mountain" at the frontage and "water" at the back of the home. Again, this will not match what you had mentioned below. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. Dear Sophia, Although the altar looks crowded, I personally find that the arrangement is still OK. If you still want to retain the extra Guan Yin, it is OK. The ruffled extra prayer table, looks like there is an evidence of a lion dance prior to taking the photo. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Further to what I had mentioned, attached, please find an illustration of an "UP" house number sign. Please note that this applies to two digits, three digits or more house number. But if one's house number has only one digit, your guess is as good as mine Warmest Regards, Cecil
