  1. Dear Yong Leng, 1. Thanks for your information. 2. Usually, if u have some pictures or a sketch or if you reference it to a virtual map e.g. at http://www.streetdirectory.com it will be a great help. 3. There is truth in what you mentioned. However, it does not beat, being at the scene to look at every single detail. Even the height, the distance of various blocks and neighbourhood buildings is different. And no place is the same. 4. I am very glad that you chosen to look at Feng Shui at a macro level. 5. Frankly, it takes many years to look at, understand how qi flow between one area (different levels) and buildings between each other. 6. Other qi movements include problematic things known as penetrating sha qi. 7. Last week, I received a layout plan. And it also includes a plan form. This person, had been living in the house for more than 4 years. 8. And frequently had to change jobs (although well paying) and also was trying to conceive. He had previously asked two local geomancers but no progress. 9. I was shocked when I saw the site plan. From a few kilo metres away, there was this primary school shaped in the profile of a handgun (with a trigger). And the barallel of the gun is pointed that his block. 10. At the same time, another secondary school with a `longer' barallel also aimed at the surface of this block. 11. Such Sha Qi is known as penetrating sha qi. It is invisible to the eye. But nevertheless, symbollically very potent. 12. Imagine a handgun. This type of sha qi, shoots in spurts and this would account for good times (well paid job) followed by (retrenchment or resignation). "Guns cannot shoot all the time. As the barallel heats up and bullets used and need to replenish." 13. Unfortunately, because Singapore is so small and very few terrain, I personally feel that many FS practitioners in Singapore, focus wrongly i.e. inside the 4 walls of the house but does not seem to have a good grasp of the exterior. 14. Therefore, for the benefit of users in this forum; I have posted some learning resources either under Photo Tours of Interests (with Photos) or Singapore Property Review. 15. This is to help one have an idea that not all things inside a home is as equally important as the exterior. 16. It is good that you are investigating your surrounding. In fact, I do recommend everyone, anywhere in the world to do so. 17. For those who are new to external investigations: 17.1 As you had done, learn more about the ups and downs (if you can) about the situation of breadwinners. 17.2 For landed property, scan neighbouring homes. Look for homes that have not been renovated or look run down. Try to see if there are any canals, drains or slopes or any other building can suck it's wealth. 18. Presently I am not too comfortable replying to your message as, the sketch is too general and thus, too general to give you a concrete reply. Nevertheless, if you have a better sketch or even photos, I appreciate it. For photos, try to resize them smaller. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Users, 1. All reviews of condominiums are based purely on general external shapes and forms. 2. My reviews does not take into consideration that each unit within the development can vary - average, good, very auspicious or inauspicious. 3. For example, sometimes, good condos that had been reviewed, may have some units that have toilets at the centrepoint or other fatal shapes and forms problems either of it's interior or external. For example, the corner of another block points to the block one wants to buy. 4. Therefore, I must highlight that no two units are similar. Sometimes, from a top view, the swimming pool may curve in or act as a butcher's knife slicing into the unit one intends to buy. Or the ideal apartment is attacked by a sha qi, a distance away. 5. Many of the reviews done on each condo is intended as a learning tool and the main purpose is to give the reader a general grounding of what to look for, either if you are buying homes or apartments or helping relatives or friends. 6. If in doubt, please get reliable advise from any competent practitioner whom you feel comfortable with. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Marjorie, 1. For those who are family with fixed template models with characteristis such as Fame / Travel etc... 2. Authentic Traditional Feng Shui sites like this does not use such `Ba gua models'. 3. For those who are new, can check out some of the older links:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm 4. This link helps you when you are using an ordinary compass:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm 5. Overall, it is very difficult to comment on just a few general sentences. But, in general, a water position directly behind the house usually services as a `handicap' or a single leak. 6. If there are more `leaks' in the home, then, it usually piles up to a prelude to financial/wealth woes or marriage problems. 7. Under the external Shapes and Forms model, it is a disadvantage to have a water position at the WEST compass direction of the house. This is symbolic of an open tiger mouth (which represents it's eagerness to swallow up something). 8. Why not try to explore further key Feng Shui theories further before applying them. 9. As much as all of us are eager to apply immediately, unless, one is blessed with good guidance else, too little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Lia, 1. Yes, you have brought up a very good question. 2. However, the Key Success Factor here is to take The Five Elements Concept to a higher step. 3. Hint: It has to do more with the concept of Strong or Weak. 4. Drawing a parallel, in Ba Zi, one must ensure that one get one's element not only correct but also whether it is `strong' or `weak'. 5. Unfortunately, for Xuan Kong or Flying Star Theory, many of the bad earth belong to the Strong Element. 6. For example #2 and #5 are strong earth element. 7. When countering strong earth, one should where possible avoid wood element. 8. No doubt, wood is acceptable to destroy weak earth. But it is not a good solution to destroy strong earth. 9. The reason is because Wood will give strenght to Fire. Fire, will in turn assist Earth. 10. When it produces fire, wood will be weaken, it will no longer be able to destroy fire. And fire will increase earth. A double edged sword cure. 11. Metal is different because it draws strength from earth. 12. Another separate situation is that Metal is the safest element to use because in the Flying star model, in situations where water positions can be added, Metal supports water and vice versa. This is really the `wealth' model of Flying Star Feng Shui as oppose to locating wealth at the fancy of individual practitioners. 13. Therefore, I hope you can see the logic behind why Metal is a safer solution than wood. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Location: 24, 26 and 28 Fernwood Terrace Developer: Hong Leong Holdings via Harbour View Hotel Pte Ltd TOP was in 1994 or around 8 years ago. Tenure: Freehold A total of 215 units comprising 3, 4, Studio and Penthouse apartments. Comments: 1. Formerly, this site was located on a Malay type of village. 2. Once the former qi of this village inclusive of a few unmarked burial was removed, thru time, this site being renewed with much Yang (human activity) because of it's 215 units and family nucleus. 3. In fact, in Singapore, there are few of such a configuration: where the twin blocks can actually be seen as one rectangle sitting nearly 45 degrees from intersection of the traffic junction of Marine Parade Road with Siglap Road. 4. This is not a popular design for developers as many prefer to sell more units like the Rivervale Crest condo where, a much smaller site than this can house more than 450 units or 50 percent units. 5. However, the residents here are lucky because, this is considered a Castle Gate orientation of the entire frontage of the apartments. If one takes a top view, this Castle Gate formation has: 1. a symbolic protective triangle (as shown in the attached illustration in a red triangle) 2. The Ming Tang or bright hall or water position being water, destroys the triangle or fire (and this is represented by wealth formation) 3. The rectangle block is situated at a safe distance behind giving it the protection to it's frontage. 4. Previous transacted price range from $560 to $750 psf. However, with the current depressed market even for freehold properties, prices are considered a wee bit, steep at the moment. 5. It is indeed one of the very few condos, I can recall, which both defensive and at the same time the block is based on a stable Earth element block. Warmest Regards, Cecil PS. 6. Location: Bayshore Road / close to Upper East Coast Road and East Coast Parkway. Many of the south facing units which formerly had views towards the East Coast Park and sea view facing Indonesia is gradually being blocked. However, overall, this place still command good Feng Shui. (Please see my comments, below, later). Developer: Bayshore Park Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Far East Organisation Tenure: 99 years TOP was in 1997 or around 6 years old. It has a total of 1,038 units ranging from 2, 3, 4 and penhouse. Because of its good location at the east i.e. district 15 / 16, price per sq feet can range from $580 to $750. Previously, two years ago, prices are as high as $590 to $850 for some units. Comments: 1. It is always a coincidence that developments that have names beginning with THE seems to turn our considerably more auspicious than some other developments. 2. For example, excellent Feng Shui can be found at the following addressess with THE in-front of their name:- a. THE Meyer Place (specific unit with excellent FS) b. THE Sovereign (especially those in a North to South alignment) c. THE Sterling (specific units and the development has dragon qi flowing from the mountain to the water position) 3. However, I must caution, that in all developments, not all apartments share the same auspiciousness. Some do, while some may not. 4. Usually those units that have good Feng usually has good shapes and forms as well as get FOC Feng Shui from surrounding units. 5. In general, the entire development is on a stable Earth square shaped land. 6. All blocks are neatly arranged tall and rectangular `tree' with a crowning glory. This makes each block wearing a symbolic crown for success. 7. Each block is at least 25 floors and of equal height neatly arranged together. 8. Under The Five Elements Concept, each block resembles a tall rectangle tree (wood element). And this configuration is known as wood (tall structure) destroy earth (square) symbolic of creating `wealth'. 9. In addition, each block has mini protective spines that helps it to become protective (slightly offensive) but does not harm it's surrounding blocks because of the distance between them. 10. Overall, the entire development is a much better buy even if it is subsequently being blocked at the South by the `unfriendly' Costa Del Sol. 11. In the long run, even if those who need to it urgently in the future, can get a reasonable price. 12. Look at Lagoon Park, a HUDC : Housing and Urban Development Corporation, which developed 99 lease apartments for the middle class in the mid-1970's. 13. Although THE Bayshore is of higher class, that of a private condo, nevertheless, locations like Lagoon Park managed to squeeze out it's last drop of wealth for those who were selling it in the 1980s and 1990s. But as it is nearing it's 60 years lease, time-out for this condo. 14. Turning back to THE Bayshore, a tree symbolically represents `growth' and it is only thru growth that we constantly enhance ourselves. For those, who aspire to keep updated, will reap their rewards. 15. Even if they do not fully succeed, they can always fall back as a last resort on the sale of their property since many who own it are in their mid 30's to mid 40's. I strongly believe, this condo for the next 30 years can still fetch a reasonable price in view of it's location and facilities. 16. The only complaint I have is its rough internal service road. Perhaps, if I ever stay here, I may consider an off-road vehicle such as a SUV. Warmest Regards, Cecil PS. PLEASE READ A FORUM MESSAGE IN THIS SAME CONFERENCE. 7. Dear Janna, 1. In Feng Shui, some cures can easily be described or `imagined' for it's ability to react to the environment. 2. For example, most of the ills come from the earth or sickness stars are earth bound. 3. And majority of the cures are based on Heaven qi (or metal qi). Or metal cures. 4. Therefore, things like metal wind chimes - that chime or produce sound is said to scatter away bad earth elements especially #5 misfortune or sickness. 5. Six Chinese copper coins (with square holes) is often strung together. 6. Taking a cue from the use of a empty glass jam jar, filled with 6 coins, 1 piece of gold flake and water with salt; in science, we are aware that there can be some chemical reaction of salt or sulfur on metals such as the copper coins. The advise here is to place this glass jar at a well ventilated place. 7. If we string a similar 6 copper coins. Perhaps, it is due to the action of the moisture which usually contains some acidity; 8. For example, I mentioned the case of the Rivervale Crest Condo. Perhaps, placing 6 coins hung along the windows facing the pool is the first defence. 9. Reference: Conference Info:: Singapore Property Review or simply do a SEARCH in this forum for Rivervale to find out more about the problem related with this condo. 10. Here, since, units 15/16 are East-West facing, most of the `stagnant' in the pool will be shined on by the Sun say from 8.30am to even 2 pm for each entire day. 11. Because of the chlorine and even some body sweat (that goes into it - this is abit exaggerated) but such vapour rises and is trapped around the U shape of the condo. 12. Ultimately, such vapour perhaps has some acidity and it could perhaps have a chemical reaction with the string of copper coins. So far there is no concrete evidence of this, but neverthless, it is one possible senario. 13. Coming to the `bottle gourd', the idea behind this is based on Chinese legend. 14. In general, it is said that one Chinese deity uses such a `weapon' which is able to suck in bad elements into it. 15. Much like the early 1970's TV show: I dream of genie. Where the genie lives in such a bottle. 16. Personally, I cannot say for sure that it will work. Perhaps, it can work to boost our confidence or boost our Man (human) Luck. That's all. 17. I do not have full confidence that it CAN actually work. But, since this is part and parcel of one of the tools used by many Traditional FS practitioners; if it does not cost significantly that much, I can only say no harm. 18. Most of the time, I would instead, try to ask my clients to avoid a straight path of Qi e.g. from the main door, leaking out directly in a straight line to the opposite e.g. balcony window. 19. I will also inform the client that there are no guarantees with this kind of cure. 20. Yes, the size of the bottle gourd can be what u had described. Usually it can be either crystal, ceramic or even dried bottle gourd (from green to brown). 21. And usually, inscriptions are on it also. 22. Have you seen imitation `ming vase' that resemble a bottle gourd? Usually, there are display items that are either 1 foot high or even as high as 3 feet. This are often placed at corners with the same purpose. Sometimes, if it is not used for FS, some even use it as an umbrella stand. 23. Frankly, I find the bottle gourd is like a doctor prescribing a sugar coated pill. To make us feel nice; or increase our Man Luck. 24. I tend to take Para 23 more seriously. 25. More importantly, if we can first, fix the leak e.g. using a partition or screen, then we do not have to worry whether the bottle gourd will work or not. 26. After running the forum for so many years and seeing so many wrongful prescriptions, I have no choice but to promote the maxim: Fix-the-leak, First! "The best offense is self-defense! With self-defence; we can live another day to enhance ourselves. And not go into a vicious cycle of not knowing what hit us..." Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Location: Simei Street 4 Developer: NTUC Choice Homes with Comfort Properties Tenure: 99 years TOP in middle of 2002. This condo is a mid-medium sized condo with a total of 242 units with 2, 3, 4 and mansionettes. Because of it's close proximity to the Simei MRT, it commands a good price per sq ft. Price per sq ft for units in this condo can arrange between $540K to $630K psf depending on the level and size of apartment and view. My comments: 1. This developer of this condo also built the much dreaded symbollically joined U shape designed condo project called: Rivervale Crest Condominium. 2. It is good that Tropical Spring has an opening (please see attached picture) at the U configuration (fronting the main entrance) to allowing dragon qi to pass thru. 3. The first thing when one drives to the guard room is that there is an opening at the middle U of the condo. 4. This is good, in view that majority of the condo units are also symbollically joined together. 5. Perhaps, since this project is owned by a semi-government body, perhaps, their idea in my opinion, is to always maximize floor area to squeeze in as many people as possible. 6. Compared to Rivervale Cres condo which has twice as many units (450 for Rivervale Cres) while this one has 242 units nearly 40 plus percent lower no. of units, augurs well for this development. 7. The only thing I do not like about some of the units close to the parallel MRT track is that units that are directly next to the MRT track can be rather noisy. 8. Inside the unit, you can literally hear the rumble each time a MRT train passes thru from each direction! 9. Otherwise, this condo is in a protective horse-shoe design and OK. 10. One lesson here is that, even for all developers, they may occassionally build not so good developments but at other times, quite ok ones. We therefore, cannot stick a label to any developer on whether how good or bad their development is. However, so far, none can beat Hong Leong's The Tropica condominium, located at Bedok Reservoir area: in this type of layout configuration, recently. Warmest Regards, Cecil PS. 9. Dear All, THE SICK BUILDING SYNDROME 1. For those frequently falls sick, should sometimes look elsewhere for anwers or (proposed answers). 2. In recent times, ionisers such as Amcor hepta air cleaners and Honeywell air cleaners have been used effectively in hospitals and in homes. 3. All these modern appliances can be looked at by the consumer closely. Since, much research has been done by reputable companies such as Honeywell and many others. 4. For traditional Feng Shui, the cures range from using: 4.1 6 rod hollow wind chimes to disperse the sickness #5. 4.2 6 coins joined together. So far, many times, this has been effective. Perhaps, it could be the moisture of the air that could have reacted with the copper coins to produce such positive effects. Unfortunately, no reason has been done here, so, you can for now take what I mentioned as simply hearsay. But, it is still currently, one of the cures. 4.3 Use of grand father clock with brass pendulum or the `tick-tock' effect of metal element to disperse bad sickness Qi. 4.4 Placing a bottle gourd. Symbollically this is used to `magically' suck in bad qi. Again this is a traditional cure. 4.5 Perhaps, maybe, visually, it is pleasing to the eye; and give us some hope. This translate to giving the person better confidence and positive hope. 4.6 Using a glass jar filled with 6 coins, water with teaspoon of salt and even a flake or piece of gold. There would certainly be some chemical reaction of salt water with the copper coins. It is best to leave this at a ventilated location. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Users, SPOTTING GIMMICKS PLAYING WITH OUR INBORN INNER GREED - TRICKS USED IN THE FENG SHUI TRADE In my opinion, when you want to engage a practitioner, do check further on the following:- 1. The most common ploy is to entice the user (the victim) that the practitioner (and only) the practitioner knows the SECRET of our wealth sector. Here, the practitioner wants to entice us to invite them to our home or office. 2. This is the oldest trick in the book, but yet, many will fall into this unsuspecting trap. 3. As you can see the most common ploy is to play with one's greed or hope. And this constantly revolves around enticing us of the elusive " WEALTH CORNER ". 4. The victim will usually be promised that luck will come after they had followed exactly the practitioner's instructions. But often, this does not come true. 5. Often, the `victim' will be told that the reason why it did not work was because; the victim has not properly followed the practitioner's advice or the enhancement used by the victim is not large enough. 6. Professional Feng Shui does not play with one's greed. 7. " Wealth corner " Feng Shui usually enriches the practitioner. And time will always catch up with them. 8. Going forward, you as the consumer, should understand that simply looking inwards into a house for answers is'nt exactly the best way. KEY SUCCESS FACTORS - EAT FENG SHUI MODERATELY 9. The key success factors of applying Feng Shui are:- 9.1 NEVER get CONNED! 9.2 All Feng Shui practitioners are NOT GOD. Only human beings. No practitioner can give promises. But, professional FS practitioners, can try to make sense out of your Feng Shui. And HOPEFULLY, help you as best as they can. 9.3 Locate leaks, first if any. 9.4 Determine whether these leaks can or cannot be fixed. If they are fatal errors, than, in the long term, try to plan to even sell your house if there is a real need. 9.5 Professional FS practitioners will try to understand your situation and apply cures or enhancement that are SANE and can work for most people. 9.6 If the cure can work for most people, logically, it should work for you. (Crossing-fingers). 9.7 Only after having done the above, then can be reasonably seek to see if we can try to make enhancements. 10. In many cases, don't wait for silly ideas of Weath corner to detract us. FOR THOSE ALREADY FACING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS OR ABOUT TO DO SO 11. If we are already in `deep shit' or financial trouble, we need to save as much money. And not to spent unwisely for products or figurines that merely line the pockets of the practitioner or seller of such items. 12. In such situations, the more, one should check for leaks, first! 12.1 Simple things like toilet positions e.g. centrepoint or qi leaking out of a window should be understood. 12.2 Unfortunately, some of these are fatal errors and it is best to understand that moving or planning to move out is a consideration. As this is a long term situation. Rather than falling into deeper `shit' or a vicious cycle of poverty. 13. I hope this year, would be a turning point for all of us to rally together to condone such bad practises. 14. Please go more for sensible approaches instead of going for implusive `buying'. Caveat Emptor! Let the buyer (victim) beware! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear All, 1. Please note that this is not Feng Shui. 2. However, this is one of favourite movies that has a good story, casts and significance/meaning to life. An inspirational show that includes Steven Segal (but briefly) 3. I searched yahoo.com and came up with a site that has a review of the show "Executive decision " by Warner Bros. There is a review at this site of this movie (DVD version):- http://www.all-reviews.com/videos-2/executive-decision.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Anon, You can check out this wizard:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/recommend-solutions/so-lawsuit.htm Franky, you have to see what you been sued for. Issues like piracy, counterfeit or things of this nature, sure to lose type, so realistically Feng Shui cannot help. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Anon, Attached please find a simple illustration of a `raised' number plate for landed property. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Please note - if you are receiving this message by participating via mailing list option, groups.participation, you will not be able to see the attachment. If you participate via newsgroup (NNTP), you can view the attachment.
  14. Dear Anon, 1. Usually those who can afford landed property especially in country, will find that house numbers so long as it does not sound dreadful is good enough. 2. Homes or landed properties in Sinapore can easily costs: terrace houses between US$0.8 million to US$1.5 million. And bungalow or semi-detached, depending on location and sq. feet can fetch between US$1.5 million to US$4 million. 3. We call house number - kachang puteh or this is a Malay word meaning peanuts " Feng Shui". 4. Symbolism is very important in Chinese culture and sometimes number on the main gate is elevated e.g.: 5. For example, if the house no. is 77, then on the gate the second digit (7) is raised higher. 7 7 6. Numerology can be very subjective. It can either be via the sound of the numbers. For Chinese: Cantonese dialect group, who originates from Canton in China, and this is the majority dialect Hong Kong. Number 8 sounds like `fatt' or prosperity in Cantonese. Number 4 sounds like `say' or die in their language. Thus 444 is a bad number for them. For other race, e.g. some Englishmen is superstitious with the number 13. While others love it. So where to draw the line? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Kathie, 1. I like to clarify that Chinese civilisation is more than 5,000 centuries old. 2. And, many in the west are not familiar with all things Chinese. 3. In fact, all the items you had mentioned actually are not associated with Feng Shui or geomancy. 4. Very remotely, the pagoda (but some FS practitioners sell glass or cermaic ones. Paintings are of Chinese culture. 5. Perhaps, you could perhaps search other areas e.g. Chinese painting galleries for such items. 6. Frankly, Geomancy.net which has large reach in the internet refuses to sell any products even if this can be very very lucrative. 7. We strongly believe that selling such figurines, paintings or products is a conflict of interests of profit vs providing sound advice. 8. I believe some Feng Shui authors or practitioners have taken endorsing products to the extreme. 9. Frankly, I have not purchased any objects or figurines from the internet since, I am in Singapore, and here, it is relatively easy to find all things Chinese. 10. Perhaps, you can try to check out from older Feng Shui emporiums like http://www.fengshui-emporium.com, which has been on-line around the age of geomancy.net or other sites selling all things Chinese. 11. I like to emphasie that all things Chinese does not necessary mean all things Feng Shui. Many are associated to Chinese Symbols and thus a symbol of Chinese culture. Good Luck in your product hunting! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. 17. Further to what I had mentioned earlier:- 1. Although, one can see some trees in this development (Rivervale crest condominium), either some of the pockets of trees are too small. 2. In addition, there are more concrete than places to plant trees. Marginally, small areas for small plants scattered over this development. 3. Given it's considerable small plot ratio but packed to 16-17 floors of apartments, in my opinion, it is a concrete jungle. 4. In my opinion, many of the newer generation housing board flats like those in Punggol 21. New developments at Edgedale Plains, Punggol Central etc.... Many of these HDB flats are well spaced out and have superior landscaping. 5. Another great worry is that units at 15/16 and many others have toilet at the centrepoint of the house. Which is the 1st major handicap of financial problems. 6. Another development Tropical Springs was built also by NTUC choice homes 7. Tropical Springs located at Simei, has some units next to the `dreaded' MRT line. Each time the train passess thru, it gives a penerating `distrubing' sound which one has to get used to. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Further to what I mentioned below, 1. I have one interesting question on concepts such as "fame/recognition". 2. What happens if one does not own a house. Perhaps, one excuse is that at least one stays in a tiny room and can enhance such factors. 3. But what really if one does not have a home at all? Can we translate that we will not have fame / travel etc... 4. Traditional Feng Shui, in it's original sense looks at very broad pictures, first. For example, a large city such as Canton etc... and even the entire island of Singapore. 5. And the next big picture is the landscape, the site and building we work or live in. 6. In my opinion, even in my country many FS practitioners are only focusing within the four walls of their clients. 7. And invoke the high importance of `wealth corners'. But forgetting or not aware of the need to fix leaks if any. 8. Having a single wealth corner can still fail us in our `Feng Shui' examination. 9. Imagine, if we were to stay in an apartment, how many wealth corners can we support without finding no more space to move around? 10. This is different for the wealthy. Since, they can fully afford larger homes with very good shapes and forms and can literally pave their entire house in gold. Right even into their toilets e.g. gold plated toilet seats, gold/gold plated wash basin knobs. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. This is food for thought for those who look only at `sector' Feng Shui. And some even sigh... when they enhance the so-called wealth sector; and to make themselves comfortable; may say to themselves perhaps, 2002 was a bad year for her since it is the Year of the horse. And blame it as such.
  19. Dear Mark, For questions such as " fame " unfortunately, this is never discussed in Traditional Authentic Feng Shui forums such as this one. If you like to practice geniune, Traditional Authentic Feng Shui, it is best to patiently go thru resources devoted to Authentic Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil Hint: Always look at the "bigger picture" first: not just the four walls that each of us stay-in, first.
  20. Dear Anon, 1. It is always good to ask the following questions:- 1.1. What is the purpose of Feng Shui? 1.2. What are it's strengths? 1.3. What are it's weakness? 2. Please note that Feng Shui is only about the influence of Earth on our Luck (Earth Luck). 3. It is not a cure all for everything. 4. Heaven Luck 5. Perhaps, you can partially use Ba Zi (Pillars of Destiny or popularly known as Eight Characters) to look at our Heaven's map. And from learning it, help us look at our given luck situation. For example, look at the Luck Pillars (this comes under 10 years, 5 years and yearly and also monthly or daily.) 6. But monthly and daily is in my opinion too much a hassle. The closest to this is to look at Auspicious Monthly dates as this has daily dates etc... 7. The I-Ching Confucious has given all of us a clue: " He mentioned that if he had another 50 years of life, he would certainly devote his time to learning the I-Ching hexagrams. " Most of the modern interpretations such as by James Legge, and several German persons, are merely interpretations. Some share companies have developed simple models of I-Ching predictive tools for the share market. Perhaps, you may want to look closely on the development of I-Ching. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Janna, This is the basic story about the Magic 9 grid that you had mentioned:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-tortise.htm Our applied Feng Shui course has some information of it's origins. More importantly, these two maps especially, the Lo Shu diagram is used extensively under:- 1. Flying Star Feng Shui or Xuan Kong Feng Shui. We have a course on this. 2. 9-Star Ki This is one and the same school as Flying Star. But is a variant originating from Japan. It uses the Lo Shu diagram extensively and also the Five elements concept. The second most popular practise of 9-Star Ki is in the UK. Free free to do a SEARCH in this forum for specific terms like " Flying " etc... but do try to narrow your search as usually a search can come up to lots of hits on a single word search. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Location: Rivervale Crest/Drive (beside Rivervale Mall) Developer: NTUC Choice Homes (A very new developer of condominiums) NTUC is the acronym for National Trades Union Congress. Tenure: 99 years. Date of TOP was last year (mid 2002). Total number of units: 490 units with 83 studio apartments, 88 2 bedrooms with the reminder of 3 or 4 bedrooms. Price per square foot for second-owners two to three years ago range between $460 to $520 depending on the level. Majority of ground floor units have PES (personal enclosed space). In my opinion, this is a high side considering current glut of many unsold condominium development. Personally, for me, I will stay clear of this development after this study for majority of units facing the pool area. Some of the units on the side faces the Rivervale Mall circular car park road to car parks at level 3, 4 and 5. Furthermore, it is a small-medium sized condo packed with 490 units - very high density living. My comments and opinions are as follows:- 1. If you have read some Shapes and Forms Feng Shui books which shows a U shaped block building as inauspicious; this condominium meets such a requirement. 2. Please check out the attached pictures:- 2.1 Although there are 7 major blocks, but this type of configuration is called " SYMBOLIC JOINED " blocks. 2.2 If you notice the attached graphic illustration rivervalecrest2.jpg one can notice that all the blocks are tightly packed like sardines. 2.3. This U symbolically joined blocks are equally tall at least 16 storeys ... 2.4. The swimming pool can be considered as a pool of stagnant water. And there are only two small spouts into the main pool. There is a smaller pool but this is just a small massage pool. 2.5. Overall, the pools does not have sufficent water spouts to provide the motion of friction of water against air. 2.6 And the tightly packed symbolically joined U shape, does not help to properly circulate dragon qi. 2.7 In addition, if you look closely at the orientation i.e. the North compass point on the attachment: rivervalecrest2.jpg, one notice that especially units facing the pool have units with bedrooms at East (Period 7's worse sickness sector) and South (Period 7's second most worst) sector. 2.8 When Period 8, comes, perhaps, some of these owners should look at changing the apartments to Period 8. 2.9. For those who just moved-in especially for children, this is a case, where, human MUST fit the environment (or develop tolerance). Not the other way around. Warmest Regards, Cecil In view of the nature of unfavourable forces on this condo, I have decided not to accept any more clients staying or proposing to stay here. In my opinion, if a development is new, but seems second-hand in terms of such major leaks, no amount of Feng Shui can help. Unless, one develops some form of tolerance to it's environment. Do not take it that it is unliveable; one must instead develop some tolerance over it, else, in my opinion, forced to move out.
  23. Dear Angelia, 1. Thank you for your feedback. I am very glad that you have enjoyed this site:) 3. Yes, there is really no harm in doing so. However, as you had politely mentioned that hopefully neighbours do not complaint or worse still, report it to the police. 4. It would be more unlucky if we are met by a police patrol man knocking at our door at such an auspicious hour. 5. To be more practical, it should not be done during this time for the following reasons:- 5.1 For the sake of babies, we must be considerate to our neighbours. 5.2 If one stays in a landed property, one can see many neighbours turning on all their garden lights and interior lightings of the house. One need not live all lights on, if one is `stingy' about electricity costs, but it is highly recommended to leave e.g. the balcony or living room light on throughout the first night. 5.3 Some rich Chinese also leave their lights on for 3 days and 3 nights. But, frankly, this is not practial for most Chinese especially those living in government housing. Since, the light can be felt one floor up. For example, neighours standing above the living room light can feel that their floor is very warm. Not too neighbourly, thou. 5.4 One of the main arguments for having real reasons for using fire crackers is symbolically to ward off evil and on the next day, we see red paper (exploded red fire cracker) papers littered all over the compound. 5.5 Red is considered very auspicious for the Chinese and the compound paved with red is said to be very auspicious. 5.6 Therefore, I personally feel that it may seem ok (no harm) to play the sounds of exploding crackers, given that many Singaporeans live in apartment flats especially government flats, a burst of even 1 minute of such a sound can echo throughout a block of 500 units. 5.7 This sounds very, very unneighbourliness. And, what worst way to start a new year is for some neighours to `curse' at us for doing so. 6. I appreciate, if users here do not extract any messages or replies from this forum to any others run by any other practitioners. 7. As, in my opinion, I have seen bad Feng Shui around inclusive of even bad blood flowing around some of Singapore's practitioners. Where there are even lawsuits carried out by one against the other. 8. Geomancy.net, is an international forum and does not care about any bickering overseas or locally. For example, if one had visited the only Feng Shui newsgroup in the world, there is really nothing to learn in such forums but rather, people with either bruised egos fighting out in a `circus-ring'. These are counter-productive and bad "Karma". Geomancy.net is and has always been a flame free forum. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Josephine, 1. I am afraid, this type of question is not appropriate for this forum. 2. There is nothing which can be commented that does not dwell into `hearsay' information with no proper basis in Traditional Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Sachin, 1. Please do a search for the recent posting on measurements that you had requested. 2. I mentioned that the optimum measurement for desks is exactly mulitiples of 1 Feng Shui sq. feet or an area of 17 sq feet. For example your measurements below should be in muliples of 17. E.g. 17 inches, 34 inches, 51 inches, 68 inches, 85 inches etc.. 3. Currently, the width of 34 x 34 is OK. But for the length, please subsitute it with any of the above multiples. 4. As mentioned above, the OPTIMUM auspicious area of a FEng Shui desk is to have it in multiples of 17 inches / sq Feng Shui foot. Warmest Regards, Cecil
