Dear Anon, Since your problems were related or felt to be related to the fish tank, in my opinion, it is best that you do away with the Fish tank. In Feng Shui, fish tank(s) are often used as a cure and not an enhancer. Enhancers include pretty large fountains etc... Other than the above, some consider rearing fish as a hobby. Under Pillars of Destiny, if one's element is a weak fire or strong water person; then it is best to avoid a fish tank in the home:- 1. It can further extinguish a weak fire person's element. 2. Dear Anon, 1. Priority should always be given for bed to be placed in good Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 1.1 For example, where ever possible, try not to place the bed on the same wall of the bedroom door. 1.2 And where possible, place the bed on the opposite wall as the bedroom door. 1.3 In addition, if there is a window, leave a gap between the bed and the window (especially if the bed is parallel to the window). 1.4 If one can, avoid placing the bed head to the window. 2. Senarios like the above should be given `Top-priority' as compared to say placing the head to good directions. This is nice to have but as mentioned above the overriding consideration is better Shapes and Form placement. 3. Other consideration is e.g. do not place the bed on the same wall as the toilet area. Please see below:- Once these sectors are cured, there should not be any worry. One should go on with our daily lives. This is not the end-of-world senario as often portait in shows or Armaggedon type of senario. Please refer to my above comments under Para 1. Dear Chee Siong, Please refer to the attached file. I have drawn three Options on how best to place a screen or divider (or divider with cabinet). Please refer below:- You only need to have a divider that covers the full (main door). In many instances, one can use e.g. a semi-circle or rounded edged divider so that it will not become an `arrow'. Alternatively, a screen can also be used. Dear Peck Wun, Since you are considered the breadwinner, it is good for the stove to orientate a good position for the breadwinner. In such a situation, since you are a weak fire person, orientating the stove to the east is a good option for you. Since east facing represents wood element. Where wood element will help fire element to grow. However, it is important to take note of the following:- If your stove is facing east, and if it so happens that your main door is located at west, then, it is best to use stove knobs that face upwards i.e. towards the sky. And avoid having a stove with the knobs at the side of the stove facing west wards. However, if the main door is located at east, then, it would be advantages to have the stove with the knobs at the side facing inwards of the house. Dear Wilfredo, In order to confirm; if one is standing at the main entrance door and can see e.g. the tree trunk. Here, the tree trunk is said to be slicing into the main door. If so, then this is a `poison arrow' slicing into a house. This is considered a `Sha Qi' or inauspicious. And should be corrected. Dear Max, Usually, if there is a missing corner, we can try to redress it e.g. with mirrors etc... However, if a sector is deemed to be an auspicious sector is "occupied" e.g. by a toilet, etc... there is really not much one can do - to improve the situation. Usually, if we consider `sectors' it is but one of many sectors under e.g. a concept. Thus, lets assume that this concept or theory accounts for 20% of the total marks out of 100 marks. Within this 20%, if we divide 20% by 9; this gives 2.2 marks per sector. Thus, each sector only brings in 2.2 marks. Which is considered insignificant when compared to good Shapes and Form Feng Shui. To be frank, there are two considerations: 1. the office environment, may not be congenial for your type of work or 2. the job may not be suitable for yourself or may not have good support e.g. work companions. Or other aspects relating to other `sciences' such as Human Resource topics of motivation or even organization behaviour type of analysis. So far, Feng Shui is a holistic method and has several key concepts and theories and thus, at this stage it is difficult to pin-point whether Feng Shui can or cannot help in your office. For the office environment, one usually does not have any say as to the layout and even sitting positions unless one can influence this. Dear Vivek, Please see below:- Eight House is only one of the many concepts under Feng Shui. In my opinion, the top consideration is the Shapes and Form Feng Shui. If we give a total of 100 marks to Feng Shui, I would say that Shapes and Form Feng Shui can account to between 50 to around 60 percent of the overall luck of the house. For excellent houses, it can even account to 80 to 90 percent of the luck. Here, one do not even need Feng Shui and yet will be very lucky. Thus for an average house, the remainder 40 percent out of a possible 100 marks is allocated between e.g. Flying Star and Eight House Theory. Thus, if assuming Eight House takes 20 percent of the rest of the luck, it is still of secondary importance to Shapes and Form Feng Shui. Overall, if the disaster or death sector is at your main entrance, in general, this is said that the house is an unsuitable house to you. You should also consider the bedroom location and what intangible force is at this sector. Otherwise, there is not much one can do here. Dear Wendy, It is good to have the pyramid type roof or `swiss cottage' type of roof. The threat you mention can be neutralised and this is a consideration. Overall, besides the other points I mentioned, if you have the time, use the Eight House template to see which house is best suited for the breadwinner. In particular, it would be better if the main door is not the `death or disaster' sector for the breadwinner. For other family members and the breadwinner, check to see - in particular if the bedroom is suited for each family member - where possible. The other important considerations are the the toilet(s) should preferably not be at the frontage of the house. And if possible there is clear space at the centrepoint of the house. And toilet should preferably not be at the centrepoint. Otherwise, as mentioned above, the threat can be neutralised by using e.g. a day curtain to screen the window from the sharp edge of another house. The pointed roofs, and triangle peaks are advantages for a house as it is a house `on the offensive' and since many people do this, it would be good. If not, others may also do the same onto us. Dear W, Overall, if all the houses are offset, then there is perhaps not much choice i.e. you can select any of the units. Here, the ruleset " Once it cannot be seen it no longer becomes a threat' can apply. For example, a solution is to install day curtain to screen the window from this sharp edge. If your house has not been built yet, it would be advantages to have the pointed roof configuration e.g. ^ / \ / \ | | If you can, use the frontage with the `pointed' roof at the frontage (as a protection) for the house as opposed to the roof sideways. In addition, check to see if the house does not have a slop at the back. Where possible, the lot should be level on all sides (if possible). And avoid, drainage cutting or seem to bend inwards towards the lot. Dear Jason, Usually, it would depend greatly on your personal Ba Zi i.e. the position of the main entrance door rather than the position of the garage whether it be at the left or right side. As this changes totally the main door direction. If you like to consider, there is a specific report that we have specifically tailormade to look at Good Houses. This is the Paid Good House Report. And it analyses all 24 directions = 360 degrees and specific to e.g. the breadwinner. Dear Anon, As there are various concepts and theories that affect this, perhaps, you may have to consider elimination:- For a start: 1. Stand at the main entrance and look out of it. Look for any poison arrow aimed at the main entrance such as a lone lamp post or any sharp objects e.g. neighbour' roof. Do the same for each window. 2. At the frontage of the house, are there lots of doors e.g. a set of main entrance door and many sliding doors. Here, too much doors or windows can make the house out of balanced and caused such problems. The above are two primary concerns under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Dear Susan, Each house has to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. It depends on the distance of the house e.g. back of the house to the drop off point. And the gradient of this drop off point or slope. Overall, a large land has some advantages. Especially if the back is `spacious' or better off situation. In such a senario, if the proper `fencing' or ability to create a solid backing can be done, this can be acceptable. Therefore, no two houses are the same. Dear John, It would be good if North Double 7's is at the main entrance. If this is the living room water element would help the double 7's (metal) element flow. The double 7 metals would already be of use to destroy the #3 wood. And a good combination of the harmonious productive cycle of Metal -> Water -> Wood combinations can be considered here. However, it should not be activated if this is not the living room area or other rooms e.g. back area of the house. Since your wife is a Strong Water person, usually balance should be created first, to offset the Strong Water e.g. personal self with say `fire' e.g. wearing red. Since fire is not beneficial for a Strong Earth person like yourself. For the East, 9, 5, 5 and if your house is a Period 7 house, than year is also 5. Check whether anyone is staying in this area. If it is a bedroom, consideration should be made to neutralise this sector. The proposed solution is to use a 6 rod metal wind chime outside the window. Or use a pendulum clock inside the room. Dear Ben, 1. The main purpose of the light is to `redress' the missing corner. 2. If your garden has an outline of the missing corner e.g. landscaping done so that when one has a top-view of your plot of land, it shows an outline or profile of the `missing corner'. If this has been done, then it is not a necessity to have a garden light point. If Para 2, is `available' i.e. if you have landscaping done - then it is not necessary. But if you want to place a lighting under this `condition' then, a low walkway light should be acceptable or the 1-2 feet tall type will do. 3. If there is no landscaping and you are using only a `street lamp' then, it is advisable to use a taller post e.g. 6 to 7 feet type. The purpose here is to provide `maximum' lighting for the area. (The ingredient here is to have a wider dispersion of lighting). Therefore a high level lamp is better choice i.e. 6 to 7 feet type depending on how much one drives the post down to the ground. 4. Usually, the lamp should not:- 4.1 become a poison arrow i.e. slicing thru any windows or doors. Usually this is not the case if it is diagionally set at the missing corner. But do watch out for it. 4.2 Ideally, the cover should `clear' circular type of lamp. Or lamps that `point symbolically upwards' eg. ^ / \ / \ | | type of configuration. And avoid it pointing downwards. 4.3 As you had mentioned, the other alternative is to use `spot-light' fixed on the side of the house pointing light towards the `missing corner'. But in my opinion, the best option is still the `street lamp' or as mentioned under Para 3 above .. (if no landscaping is done). Here, the lamp post when viewed from the air (top-down) would symbollically form a `DOT' to join the missing corners. This is the best alternative - when no landscaping has been done as mentioned under Para 2.. The type of lighting tube e.g. warm or cool-white light does not really matter. Both are acceptable.
