  1. Confidence and Self-Esteem were best friends. They went everywhere together. If Confidence bought a new dress, Self-Esteem bought one just like it. They were very close. One day a new kid came to their school. His name was Peer Pressure. He had a friend called Hateful Words. They decided to give Confidence a hard time. They constantly teased her. They forced her to do terrible things. It was so terrible that Confidence lost Self-Esteem. When Self-Esteem wanted to start dance class, Confidence said they wouldn't be any good. Then one day, Peer Pressure introduced Confidence to Doubt. He wanted to ruin Confidence, but Peer Pressure said he couldn't yet. Self Esteem couldn't understand what was wrong with Confidence. Confidence now hung around with Depression, Low Self-Esteem, and Overeating. These girls were friends of Peer Pressure. Self-Esteem no longer had any friends. She no longer felt good about herself. She went to see her pastor. Pastor Good Words told her how to talk to Confidence. He introduced her to his daughter, Encouragement. Encouragement and Self-Esteem went to find Confidence. Self Esteem hoped she wasn't too late. The girls found Confidence in a stupor. She was no longer a vibrant, happy young girl. There were dark circles under her eyes. She had gained so much weight from eating that she couldn't move. Encouragement gasped and Self-Esteem cried. She begged Encouragement to do something. Encouragement began to hug Confidence. She kissed her and loved her. She told her that she was a beautiful young lady who had a lot going for her. Encouragement held Confidence so tightly that Self-Esteem thought she would smother her. Confidence began to cry. As she cried, she seemed to lose weight. Then a bright light suddenly glowed from Confidence and she began to smile. Peer Pressure and his friends didn't like what Encouragement was doing and tried to attack her. They hit at her and pulled at her, but they couldn't pull her away from Confidence. Then Confidence began to speak. "Get away from me, Peer Pressure. Take your friends and go. You no longer have any power over me." Confidence was now a glowing light. She and her friends made sure that Peer Pressure and his gang never bothered anyone in their town again. If you feel that Encouragement is not your friend, then try to find Encouragement in yourself. Self-Esteem and Confidence will follow.
  2. I believe not all women would agree with this but this is really interesting.... Women's words and what they mean: 1. Fine: This is the word we use at the end of any argument that we feel we are right about but need to shut you up. NEVER use fine to describe how woman looks. This will cause you to have one of those arguments. 2. Five minutes: This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so I feel that it's an even trade. 3. Nothing: This means something and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with the word "Fine." 4. Go Ahead (with raised eyebrows): This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine." 5. Go Ahead (normal eyebrows): This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care." You will get a raised eyebrow "Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off. 6. Loud Sigh: This is not actually a word, but is still often a verbal statement very misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing." 7. Soft Sigh: Again, not a word, but a verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" are one of the few things that some men actually understand. She is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe and she will stay content. 8. Oh: This word followed by any statement is trouble. Example; "Oh, let me get that". Or, "Oh, I talked to him about what you were doing last night." If she says "Oh" before a statement, run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. She will tell you that she is "Fine" when she is done tossing your clothes out the window, but do not expect her to talk to you for at least 2 days. "Oh" as the lead to a sentence usually signifies that you are caught in a lie. Do not try to lie more to get out of it, or you will get raised eyebrows "Go ahead" followed by acts so unspeakable that I can't bring myself to write about them. 9. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can say to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you retributions for what ever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" >and used in conjunction with a raised eyebrow "Go Ahead." At some point in the near future when she has plotted and planned, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble. 10. Please Do: This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance to tell the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay." 11. Thanks: A woman is thanking you. Do not faint, just say you're welcome. 12. Thanks A Lot: This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have hurt her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing."
  3. Source and credit: This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling in St. Johns, Newfoundland. They actually have to divert the path of these things away from the rig by towing them with ships! Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm & the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this pic. They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons. (See attached file: Iceberg 2.jpg)
  4. Note: Below is not `real' but rather, a *Joke* about the use of yellow talisman to ward-off virus attack to one's PC:- For those of you prone to computer crash / virus attack /whatever computer problems, you are advised to: 1. print out then burn the attached ang kong hu (ang kong talisman), and drink the water from the ash 2. recite always the following mantra " popi computer bei hang, bei tiuk virus, always peng an ". Under Para 2, this is based on Hokkien sentence which is interpretted as: "Pray hard that my computer does not hang or get virus and always peaceful."
  5. This interesting drawing .... shows `arrows' being hurled around the work place.... Worthwhile looking at the various sketches:)

  7. There are diverse ways of `finding' out how lucky numbers are... some one has written an excel spreadsheet for finding out if your handphone number is lucky? Well, in my opinion, try it for FUN! Thou!
  8. The Correct Way Of Eating Fruits - By Devagi Sanmugam We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not so easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat fruits. Do you know of anyone who hates fruits? Most likely no. Everyone will immediately tell you about the fruits they like very much. The reason why everyone likes fruits is because our bodies crave for it instinctively. The colour, the texture, the aromas and the sweetness all make it very attractive. But I find that most of us tend to think of fruits as a treat e.g. on a hot day - water melon! But do you know that fruit is an important food to the human being? Remember our ancestors were not meat eaters or seed eaters - they were all fruit eaters. Fruits have the highest water content of any food. In addition, the vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, amino acids and fatty acids that a human requires can be derived from fruits. When fruit is consumed correctly, nothing can surpass it. Even for those who want to lose a little weight, the proper consumption of fruit will help. A survey was made and it was found that those who eat fruits more at every meal tend to want to eat less in the next meal. The reason, being the sugar in the fruit. It was also found that a particular substance in some fruits could cut the risk of heart disease or heart attack. The substance protects the heart by preventing the blood from becoming too thick and plugging up the arteries. So fruit is cleansing! Fruit requires less energy to be digested than any other food. Everything consumed by the human body eventually breaks down in the system and is transformed into glucose, fructose, amino acids etc. The brain cannot function on anything except glucose. Fruit is glucose in the body. Its digestion, absorption and assimilation requires only a short time, rather than to break down food like chicken, mutton etc. Other foods spend about 1-4 hours in the stomach! Fruits do not digest in the stomach. Most fruits are predigested except for bananas, dates and dried fruits. They pass through the stomach in twenty to thirty minutes as if going through a tunnel. They break down and release their life giving nutrients in the intestines. What is correct eating of fruits? IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN IN AN EMPTY STOMACH. If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities. Fruit is the most important food. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so. In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil. So please eat your fruits in an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat water melon I burp, when I eat durians my stomach bloats up, when I eat bananas I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit in an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat! Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, dark circles under the eyes - all these will not happen if you take fruits in an empty stomach. There is no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Sehlton who did a research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight. When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice. Not from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. So stop making 'goreng pisang' or 'durian porridge' if you want nutrients. Cooking destroys all the vitamins. But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. But if you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly. Because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprise when your friends tell you how radiant you look! During the fruit fast you can eat fruits, prepared in salad forms and make it more interesting.
  9. In Japan, local farmers prepare to pack and ship full-grown square watermelons. The idea of square watermelons was first developed 20 years ago so that they easily fit in refrigerators. The melons are placed in square tempered glass while they are growing. Source and credit: Los Angeles Times (6/15/2001)
  10. Dear Sang Lee, When you are using the ordinary compass, the method is the same for both direction taking of a landed property or an apartment/flat/condominium unit:- Reference:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Mechanics of how to can be found under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm where you can find helpful step-by-step approach in gettting a copy of the layout plan, and using e.g. a transparency to superimpose on the layout plan the North - South direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Caroline, Frankly, there are not much one can do here. Overall, try to see if your house can benefit from FS luck in a holistic way than to base it on one sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Nonie, There are various FS concepts and frankly, it may not be that bad as basing it on the south side / fire with water may not necessarily mean inauspiciousness. If you have pictures of it, feel free to post it in this forum. I can take a look at it. More importantly, Shapes and Form is a major consideration. One KEY area in Feng Shui is the accumulation of wealth and draining of `bad' water. Perhaps, it may be premature to say that this is inauspicious. Alternatively, it could spell auspiciousness. I am unable to comment fully at this moment without much info on the land form of your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Michael, In my opinion, many Feng Shui authors or websites have factored in the `true compass direction'. For example, in this website, all compass directions mentioned are based on `true' compass readings i.e. from an ordinary compass. What is `North - zero degrees' is North and what is `South - 180 degrees' is true South. Overall, if one is trying to follow a concept from a website or a book author, it is best to `read' or understand the author's concept totally. From start to end. And not read a certain concept from one site and piece it with another information from other sites. For this website, I like to confirm that all interpretations and analysis is based on the easy to use North - South direction and is meant for everyone who uses an ordinary compass. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Linda, Thank you for your message. For those who may not be aware, there is a page on FS ruler under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm Good and Bad Dimensions Length (CM) Potent Remarks 0 to 5.4 Good Fortune 5.5 to 10.7 Bad Sickness 10.8 to 16.1 Bad Divorce 16.2 to 21.4 Good Fairness 21.5 to 26.8 Good Promotion 26.9 to 32.1 Bad Theft 32.2 to 37.5 Bad Accident 37.5 to 42.9 Good Origin You can try to match the above measurement to your FS ruler to see if they match i.e. as you had correctly mentioned: Black inauspicious and Red auspicious. Usually, your ruler should conform to the above. But for those who purchase rulers, do take note that there can be as many as four different variations of the rulers. The reason for the variation is due to the way, the measurements are interpreted by the people who manufacture / copy them. For those who live in Housing and Development Board Flats (HDB) in Singapore, you will find that the measurements of the doors are within the `red' auspicious zone. This was deliberately done ... with assistance from Feng Shui. Perhaps, it is the government's wish for as many people as possible in Singapore, who lived in `govt.' housing (hope) that they can achieve prosperity. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Christina, Usually, Feng Shui specialises in the `omens' of the earth. And less of use in Love and Marriage. Unless one believes in sector Feng Shui and hope to have a good relationship i.e. by beautifying or enhancing say the South West sector (Romance). This is to me a flawed concept. You could either use Chinese astrology or Pillars of Destiny to help improve/understand your relationship. Overall there are two `modules' and it depends on your level of use of it:- 1. A basic way of understanding one's characteristics say under one's horoscope. Here, the nature of love is one of the great mysteries of life. One way you can improve your relationship and love life by understanding one another's personality. Overall, Chinese astrology under http://www.lovesigns.net considers one's year of birth. Much similiar to the Western horoscope. You could perhaps, check the `animal' sign to which each of you belong to. And see if it relates to both of you. The idea here is to try to understand each other's `characteristics' based on the individual animal sign. 2. Pillars of Destiny. The use of Pillars of Destiny depends whether one wants to go further than the use of Chinese astrology. Here, the key ingredients are: 2.1 Finding out each person's element and strength. 2.2 Try to enhance one's personal element. For example, if a person is a weak wood person, then try to enhance the individual with say `water element' under colours represented by blue, grey or black. 2.2 Binding element - this is of great use in the area of `love and lasting `relationship/marriage'. Here, if say a person is of weak wood and the other partner is of weak water; binding element like water or metal can help the couple grow. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Marie, Apologies for the delay in reply. Usually, I ponder over questions ... especially if I am unsure about how to reply. If you can have a sketch of the layout it would be of great help. This is because, I feel that the placement of the bed based on good interior shapes and form should outweigh that of placement to benefit the person. For example, where possible, the bed should be placed on the opposite wall of the bedroom door. In addition, it should not be placed on the same wall as the toilet area. After considering the above main considerations and some other factors, then, it would be " nice to have " the bed and how one sleeps, face the directions, you have mentioned. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, Overall, there are many other considerations in analysing the home: 1. Shapes and Form School. Where possible, the home conforms to many of the good factors of the Shapes and Form theory. I know there are many. But in `defensive' FS, try to see if the house is a whole house e.g. few or no missing corners. In addition, check to see where the toliet locations are. They should not be located at the main entrance etc... 2. In terms of suitability of the house, yes, try as possible for it to be `suitable' to the breadwinner (usually it should be your husband). However, as mentioned under para 1, Shapes and Form can make or break, the luck of the house. 3. If the house is not fully suitable to the breadwinner, at the point where, you have looked at the home: 3.1. Bring along your family members especially husband and children and seek their feedback. Usually, one should feel happy coming into the home. This would be a plus point. 3.2 Even if the main door is not that suitable to the breadwinner do check what is the intangible force affecting each family member especially in the bedroom. See or visualise the placement of the bed in each room? Can it conform to shapes and form FS? and Yet, be good sectors for each member of the family. 3.3 Usually after the above and looking at own finances (budget); Plus if it is not a new home, always try to check the reason why the owner wanted to sell the home. 3.4 It is also good to stand at the main entrance, plus look out of each window to look for any `permanent' poison arrows. If the poison arrow is aimed thru the bedroom window, visualise to see if you can place a curtain or blind etc... After this you could decide whether to purchase the home or not. 3.4 Flying Star can later be used (after the purchase) to neutralise any imbalances. Wishing you best of luck in your home purchase:) Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Slawek, 1. In my opinion, it would not be advisable to have a skylight at the centrepoint of the house. 2. If one really wants to do so, have to make sure that the top-down view of the house is exactly a square. And in place of the skylight, a court-yard would be a better alternative. Here, square is represented by the earth element and under geomancy it symbolises authority and justice. 3. (The difference between a court-yard is that it is opened as opposed to a skylight where it can be closed ). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Cer, In my applied Feng Shui book, there are three formulas that can be used to calculate the Qua number accurately. And they are applicable even if the date of birth is under year 2000 and more. You should use the website's free computerised software to check your Qua number which I feel is accurate. Ref: http://www.geomancy-online.com (Under the Free Eight House Report). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Linda, In my opinion, there is a very wide interpretation using numerology. There are various ways of looking at the numbers and `formulas'. Especially for the Cantonese (a dialect group of the Chinese) - especially from Hong Kong. (Origin - Canton). To the Cantonese, `four' means `say' or die. But from my personal experience, I have analysised houses and even is aware of quite alot of people with 444 etcs... For example, house numbers like #14-44 or even phone numbers like 244-4444. I found that these people are no less lucky then any other persons. If I were you, basing `luck' on just house number is incomplete. So long as one's house has good shapes and forms etc... I believe such factors are more important. Therefore, in my opinion, I would rather, not worry too much of your existing house number nor need to change it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
