Dear Glyn, Frankly, this depends on the type of stuffed toys. If it is `cute' (don't blame me but the dictionary says cute means adorable but ugly) or any soft toys, this is acceptable. I have seen many homes even in Singapore, where the child (especially girls) display a wide range of their toys e.g. barbie dolls etc... The only thing is not to display stuffed animals e.g. tigers, leopards etc... Other objects to avoid include war toys, guns or swords etc... I am not sure how this would affect the alter ego of boys thou (if they know how to read this) and start to throw rotten eggs at me:) Likewise, swords should not be displayed facing the main entrance door and paintings or pictures of such animals e.g. tigers with their mouth open etc... facing the main door also. Dear Caryn, Please see my comments below:- Lets first look at a few "relationships":- 1. The Five Elements, Numbers and Colours :- (Since I am not using a table, some format could be out so I placed commas between the relationships) Cardinal Point / Five element / Number / Colour North, Water element, 2 or 6, Black East, Wood element, 4 or 8, Green or Brown South, Fire element, 3 or 7, Purple or Red West, Metal element, 1 or 9, White Centre, Earth element, 5 or 10, Yellow This year we get to hear the mysterious word " 5 yellow ". What this simply means is that (from the above) 5 is represented by Yellow or the Earth element. Therefore we call this " 5 yellow " or " 5 earth ". If we were to interpret the word 5 yellow we would all be confused. Does it mean 5 yellow ... something.... Hope this helps. So in the same light, when one says 9 Purple, this simply means the Fire element, Numerology 9 and the colour Purple. Some Feng Shui Practioners like to use these words. Next, these numbers are based on the 9 Stars or The Flying Star Theory. (9 Star Ki is Japanese/American model is one and the same). From 16 Feb 1999 to 4 Feb 2000 or the Rabbit Year, The Flying Star Chart for the Rabbit Year is as follows:- Compass Direction / Star Number / Significance North, Star 6, Average location NE, Star 4, Good for Academic East, or Location of the Grand Duke for this year SE, Star 9, Good & Promotion South, Star 5, Bad ( also known as 5 yellow) SW, Star 7, Good, Wealth West, 3 Killings or Legal Entanglements Here you see that under the General Readings for this Year, the above is a representation for this Year. This is why, it is said not to dig earth or to " cool down " the South. Is this good or bad? As mentioned, this is a general reading for the year. You should look at your own personal Flying Star Chart for the year and even the birth chart of your house. If you do not have these, then use the above as a general guide. Hope this helps you and other users to understand the relationships and the significance of the 9 Stars above. In general, you can place a mirror in your dinning hall. However, if you do not know much about whether the location or that wall is auspicious or not, I would suggest not doing so. This is because, if the wall or area is considered inauspicous, you are bouncing back or doubling the bad luck. This could be worse. If you really do not know, but feel that you want to, you are using " intuitive " form of Feng Shui. That is, put it there, if nothing happens say within two weeks, you can leave it there. I am not encouraging this form of Feng Shui but, this is what normally intuitive Feng Shui is all about. If anyone is practising this, the commonsense approach is not to do too many enhancements at anyone time using the intuitive method. This is like for e.g. an IBM or any Customer Service engineer would do to trace a fault. They usually replace a part, monitor it and then if it still gives a problem, resolve the problem further... If anyone reading this the first time and wonder what sort of advice, I am providing, erh.... I know that there are quite alot of Feng Shui theories and this form of trial and error Feng Shui is going to stay because of so many self-help books etc.... But if you like to use sound Feng Shui principles, I strongly recommend Eight House, Flying Star and even Pillars (finding your true element and strength) and applying this with the 5 elements. Dear Tri Nguyen, I wrote this reply recently and I hope you find it useful:- I mentioned earlier in some of the replies in the forum that it is common practise of Hong Kong Feng Shui Masters/pactioners to use fish tank as Feng Shui `cures'. What I mean is that between the two : fountains / waterfall, which is considered to bring beneficial ch'i to a home. Placed either outside the compound outside the front of the house or in the living room. Fish tank as a cure. For example if a lone lamp post can be seen from the living room entrance, a Feng Shui practioner would then suggest that a fish tank be placed `overlooking' the lamp post. Notice that the lone lamp post being thin represents the `Fire' element and the water in the fish tank represents the Water element. Under the 5elements principle (reference: Five Elements) Water DESTROYS Fire. Thus neutralising the `threat'. In addition to this, black gold fishes are placed in the aquarium. Sometime back, I wrote a short article in this website. (Reference: Fishes ). Where best, fishes should be numbering e.g. 5, 6, 8. (9 is still acceptable). In addition, a fish tank also consists of two elements:- 1. One view is that it is made up of the Water element and Metal element ie. the water in the fish tank is = water element (straight forward) and the other is Metal element e.g. fishes like goldfish or kois (carps) and arowanas (Dragon fish) because it is " gold " and gold is the metal element. 2. Another view is that the water again = water element. But the fishes are of the fire element i.e. gold fishes (red gold fishes) represent the fire element. 3. Black gold fish represents the water element as colours such as black ... to grey represents the water element. In all the above cases, all three " answers " are correct. Why do I bring this up? It has to do with the five elements `cure'. It's take a different example. For instance if a peron's Pillars of Destiny element is `weak water'. The direct cure is to add water element to it. The indirect `cure' is to add metal to his water element. If you cannot follow, I suggest, first look at the Productive and Destructive cycle of the Five Elements. As black gold fish = water element, it is said to strengthen the Water element. This will be more effective to counter any `Fire threats'. Similiarly, adding fishes with the `metal' element also helps to strengthen the Water element. As Metal supports the Water element under the Productive cylce of the 5 elements. Here, what I am trying to say is that if you are using the fish tank to counter the threat of the `Fire element' then, the Water element would not be strong. However, the good news is that if one is not using the fish tank to neutralise a `threat' by all means get yourself any coloured fishes. In your case, you have correctly pointed out the a pakua would be of use. To find out more about the type of pakua, you can check this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Wednesday, March 17, 1999 1:49 PM Subject: Tree & a single lamp post in front of main door

Dear Bryan, To find out more on the pakua and its use, you can check out this link: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm A normal mirror is not an ideal choice as 1. it is not effective. 2. if the house is considered very suitable for you, such mirrors may hinder your `luck.' The reason for such a severe `clash' is most likely because of the North and South orientation akin to North (COLD) and South (HOT) two extreme ends of the continuum i.e. Water clashes with Fire. Currently, as I do not know much about your main element and it's strength, I really cannot advise you further as the wrong action may affect you i.e health, wealth etc... Dear Bryan, In Feng Shui, if one's door directly faces the neighbours or if " internally ", if two bedrooms door face each other directly, there is a likelyhood of bad relations. But, 2 1/2 feet is pretty close for two units. I remembered seeing a condominium in Singapore with such a layout. Frankly, with such close proximity to each other, I really think of anything neutral for both parties. I once remembered seeing two flats of the same nature in a government housing in Singapore. One party placed a Bagua (Pakua or Trigram) above his door. The other neighbour had no choice but to place an `opposite' Bagua (with a mirror) on his side of the door. This is a ` lose-lose' situation for both parties as `bad ch'i get bounced to and fro. This is highly undesirable. There is no known cure for such a situation. Even situations like tilting the door etc... may not work. Sorry, I really cannot help you further in this. Dear Bless, For a mirror in the bedroom, the most favourable place is on your dressing table provided the dressing table is not facing your bed. It can be from the level of the dressing table and it should not `cut-off' part of your head. Therefore, the mirror need NOT be of full height from " tip to toe ". The mirror should also not face the toilet door, such that when you come out of the toilet and see can the mirror. Mirror must also not be placed above the headrest of your bed set. You can place the mirror below a window again, it is best to place the mirror on your dressing table (which does not face your bed). Dear Jody, Ideally your roof should first be proportionate (both front and back) rather then slope one side. Especially if there is `water' closeby in Front, this is symbolic of water (wealth) flowing away from your house into the water. ^ / \ The symbol of a `normal' roof, if you look at the side profile looks lik an UP arrow | | which signifies moving upwards in career, wealth etc... Frankly, nothing much can be done to enhance a flat room. Although some have added a covered chimney in the shape of a roof with a `roof ' to represent the " UP arrow " as shown above. With the front door in a straight line with the backdoor, the best solution is to place a decorative screen preferably after the front door to allow good ch'i to meander into the room. Alternatively, if your living room is `long' place a divider between it and e.g. the dining room or the backdoor. Hope that Helps. Dear Davis, Thanks for your additional information its of definite help:) SE = Wood SW = Earth Yes, with this new information, it is an EXCELLENT choice to `change' you=r main entrance door to the South-West (bearing unforseen circumstances in relation to the Flying Star birth chart of your house):- If you use the SW as your main door:- 1. This will be your Excellent direction and is the best choice for your main door. 2. Being weak Earth person, since the 1. The Excellent Direction at your main door. 2. Since your Main Entrance will be SW, which is the SW, you will benefi=t by it as the house element is of the Earth element and this will further strengthen your weak Eart=h. If you are getting a Flying Star report, do let me know. I will credit wi=th an additional credit for you to evaluate both `doors' and see which is th=e more suitable one. But currently, based on the present information, it wo=uld be good to use the `SW' door unless the stars for this is `so bad' that i=t warrants a second consideration. Dear Karen, One best test to see if a mirror is located in a good or bad location is by sitting on the bed. If you can see your profile in the mirror either lying down or simply setting on the bed, this is considered no good under Feng Shui. The rationale is because, it was felt that when we sleep, our souls leave our body and when it sees itself in a mirror, it will get a `shock'. This view is widely held although some authors may interpret this differently but still hold on to this concept. In my website, I mentioned that, if you do not have a problem and can sleep peacefully with a mirror facing you, then, go ahead but if you have restless sleeps, perhaps, you may want to look at removing the mirror or avoid placing one. But if you were to ask me, I still follow the above `practise' of not having mirrors facing our bed. For a mirror above the bed, since you can see your profile, it would be better to follow `Feng Shui' taboo and where possible.. not have it there. I am not sure if anyone has done a scientific survey on this FS taboo. If there is, we can then really understand if what we are practising now is `correct'. Am I applying the 5 elements correctly?
Administrator posted a topic in Five Element Cures (Wu Xing)
Dear Michelle, Sorry, can you clarify how you derive " Water & earth in my living room " is it because one part of your living room has the Water (North) and I assume North East is the (Earth)? Usually when we apply the 5 elements concept we do not have a `pairing' like what you suggested e.g. earth or water, metal and fire. But rather, a more accurate way is check a person's main element and strength. For example if the person's main element is Strong Fire and his bedroom is located at the North. We can introduce the colour blue in his bedroom to cool down his strong fire. This is based on the Principle of equilbrium i.e. a person's element should not be either Strong or Weak. For example if your main element under the Pillars of Destiny is a Strong Fire as mentioned above, in general, you should not introduce Fire (Pink, Red or Purple). The addition of this would (depending on the year). Lets say that for this year, the Lunar new year season is dominated by Wood, under the 5 elements concept, Wood "fuels" Fire and if you add `pink' you are increasing the intensity of the person's element which so happens to be already a strong Fire element. What happens? The person may get burnout or face pressures at work, competition etc... Alternatively if another person has the main element of weak Fire, in the above situtation, the above would help him to make his weak Fire element strong. Lets assume that you do not know your Pillars of Destiny main element and strength. What happens? You have to use your intuition or do it by trial and error. This may or may not cause consequences to you depending on how good or bad you apply your `cures' or `enhancements'. Perhaps you may want to take note that most of our houses are not mansions and do not have the east wing or west wing etc... therefore, not to add confusion to yourself, do not analyse a room into a few `zones' eg. North and NE if you can. If you cannot ascertain wether your room is a North or NE room, then, try not generally state that the room is eg. of the Water or Wood element. But rather, consider the entire house based on the direction of the main door. If the main door is at West, then treat this house as a West house. In fact, here in Singapore, we are at the Southern part and all houses in a " macro level " can be treated as a house with the Fire element. This is not wrong. What I am trying to elaborate is that if we own a palace or a mansion, we easily determine that since there is a "North wing" of the building we can pain the rooms in the North `blue'. But if we stay in a `small' house, it would not be practical to paint the North wall blue(water element), the North East Wall yellow (earth element). In addition to this by using blue to enhance the North, you are actually `increasing' the strength of Water. This is not beneficial to a person who e.g. is a weak Fire person as Water destroys his weak Fire element and can even `extinguish' it. This is bad for this person. For each of us, if our main element is `weak' we should not paint the room with colours that clash with our element e.g. if you are a weak Water person avoid painting the room Red, pink or purple. This also applies to children's room. There is more in Feng Shui "than meet the eye". Most of us are practising `intiutive Feng Shui' which can be summarised as `Trial and Error' Feng Shui. There is a 50-50 chance of it helping or `destroying' us. Some will say life is a gamble. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. Dear Davis, Frankly since you asked me for an opinion, what you have done is at a `superficial level'. It may turn out good (either by coincidence or luck is with you). The reason why I mentioned this is that in Feng Shui, we do not only `tackle' the main entrance door but look at the overall. The " overall " can be have a few meanings here:- 1. Overall, if you are only considering one Feng Shui theory, that of the Eight house. My advise is that you should not change the direction of the main entrance just because is facing the ` Spook ' direction. The reason why I mentioned this is because under the Eight House Theory, there is a " degree of " unsuitability of the house to the breadwinner. In this case, the two worst senarios are where the `death' (Ranked 1st) and `disaster' line (Ranked 2nd) `enters' your main entrance door. In such a situation, the house is considered unsuitable for the owner. You also need to check out how about the various bedrooms? Are the bedrooms favourable locations for you and your family members? Currently if it is the `spook' direction, if you do not apply any other FS theory, then you can consider a simple overview of `changing' your main door to the garage door. But here, becareful because you can be either very lucky or unlucky... if it happens that under the Flying Star Chart, everything changes because of the main entrance door. What I mean is that if you are not sure what is the result of whether, the Flying Star Chart becomes better or worse, then you have to take a so called 50-50 chance and hopes that the second option works. What I mention is not compulsory thou. You can still contiinue to use the Eight House Theory and base on your inutition to do the necessary changes. There are other considerations where in Feng Shui, since you may not be aware of your Pillars of Destiny main element and strength you do not know whether it is better to change the main door to SW and thus resulting a change of the house to a Metal element house. Again, this may work out to be good or bad for you. Here you may have to take another 50-50 chance. What I am trying to show is that you can either use the `scientific' method of Feng Shui or without analysis, go with your feelings. I therefore can only advise you up to this point. Dear Lucas, In your case, for analysing your home using Feng Shui, you still have to consider your main door as facing North even if you do not open your main door most of the time. The fact that you have to enter and leave the house through this door remains `valid'. (Even if ch'i frequently comes in from the balcony or any of your rooms depending on the prevailing hot/cold air pressures). As your balcony is at the South, do also `ensure' that when you open your main door, avoid ch'i flowing direct out from the main door to the `south' balcony (if you have not considered this already). In traditional Feng Shui, it is utmost important to determine the `centre' of the house and the main door (even if we close it all the time. This is `required' for calculation especially in the Eight House and Flying Star chart. Dear Airvrm, In response to my previous message, I was unable to determine the location of your Main entrance door due to the absence of a North to South indicator on your graphic layout. However, I have already identified the center of the house for you, which you can use as a reference point to determine the direction of your house. If you are following the 8 house theory, each compass point is at a 45-degree interval. For instance, North is at 0 degrees, North-East is at 45 degrees, and East is at 90 degrees. Therefore, you can identify the closest degree to determine the direction. It is recommended that you do some research on this matter. If you need further assistance, you can visit the following URL for a step-by-step guide on how to conduct an Eight House survey: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm This website provides a non-computerized version (html) where you can access a template to identify your 4 good and 4 bad locations. Alternatively, we recommend using the computerized version available at www.geomancy-online.com, where you can input your personal details and access various useful reports, including the free Eight House Report. Please note that new versions are continuously being developed. Dear Jez, It is difficult to deduce that your luck has changed because you are away from home and staying at your friends place that may have resulted in `losing' some money. This is because there are a few Feng Shui or Feng Shui related tools that need to be `analysed' in relation to yourself. This can be quite complex as it may involve:- 1. On certain days, our `luck' changes based on your personal main element and its strength (Pillars of Destiny) 2. Your friend's house ch'i influence on you. 3. Other factors e.g. Casion's payout rate in relation to winnings (is usually weighed against the player) In addition to the above, there can be more variables that can add to the above and finding the `correct' explanation. Dear Stephane, From my opinion, the best Feng Shui books are not in English but in Mandarin either written by practising Masters in Taiwan or in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, one needs to know Mandarin in order to read such books. Many of such books are also not translated into English and currently many English educated Feng Shui authors are capitalising on this but many are still no `match' for the `originals' although many English speaking Feng shui authors try to make a good attempt at it. Currently I will not mention the books here but we have found fundamental flaws in the `current batch' of Feng Shui books on theories relating to Pillars of destiny and the Flying star. For example, one well researched author got the Pillars of Destiny `gender' wrong and thus making anyone trying to use the steps... for such a calculation flawed. Another author got the Flying Star interpretation wrongly. Another author uses the year under the Lunar calendar and uses a different calendar method to find the day, month and year. This is like comparing apples with oranges. (The true traditional method of calculating the Pillars of Destiny is to use entirely the Lunar calendar system and this is the practise of expert Feng Shui Masters). For recommendations on books, you can check out the following messages extracted from the forum:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/bbs-yesbooks.htm As for the Feng Shui compass, In Derek Walter's book on " Feng Shui ", he devised a ready to use Feng Shui compass and it can readily be used (except that you need to by a compass). I have a picture of this book at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/books.htm Alternatively, a user here has already recommended you to check out the American Feng Shui Institutes site (she provided the link) for this in her message. There is also a plastic Feng Shui kit by Kwok Mun Ho, I have a link at http://www.geomancy.net/books/fs.htm (with a shortcomment of it). Dear Stephanie, Currently, with the limited information available, it is difficult to ascertain if it is a haunting. 1. Perphaps whether it is possible to find out a little about the history of the room? If it is not the room but the land the dorm was built... any clues available. 2. As you have not mentioned which country her school is, as some Chinese `methods' may not be able to be applied effectively to other religions. If there is indeed a real `haunting' and the location is the Far East, the school usually asks a priest or if it is a Catholic/Christian school a `brother' or a pastor to perform some rites to cleanse the place. This is the most effective method. 3. Alternatively, depending on your friend's religion she may consult a Priest and ask for help. Usually, most `authentic' Priests / Monks or Pastor ' are familiar with (within their beliefs) to provide some sort of a `charm'. As this is not within the purview of Feng Shui, I am unable to assist further. The current tools available under Feng Shui are only to `detect' ghosts. These are:- 1. The Chinese compass or Luopan. The Luopan is a `ghost detector' and many a times, I have detected ghosts when holding the Luopan. The characteristic is that the centre needle of the Luopan `goes wild'. 2. Can you check which direction is the dorm? As the most likely haunting takes place on the North-East (devil's gate). The next few locations are the South-West and West (all Yin locations). 3. Outside the exterior of this room (dorm) is there a large tree or many plants at this location? 4. Another method of detecting ghosts is through the use of the Flying Star Chart. When one compares say the flying star number e.g one may see a picture e.g. young, woman & robe. We can picture for ourselves of a young women who had previously hang herself in the room. Dear Vincent, To find out whether the new entrance suits you, you can do a Eight House Template. Where possible, the new main entrance should fall within one of your 4 good intangible directions. Where best, the main door should not have your `death' or `disaster' line flowing thru it. If these two falls within your main entrance, it is considered your most `unsuitable house.' There are corrections and it can be found on http://www.geomancy.net/fs/theory.htm under the topic 101 Authentic Feng Shui Tips and Advice (sub-heading Eight House Theory). To do an Eight House Audit for yourself, please follow the instructions at this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm You have also briefly described that the new entrance face what looks like the `tortise' or back side of the house. Dear Bryan, For TV's and other electrical items, currently there are three views on this:- 1. Electricity is considered a water element because of its " fluid " nature for example we can visualise them like " watercourses " i.e. the flow of electricity through the wires. 2. It can be used to `block' or `neutralise' bad ch'i because it has magnetic properties. For example when we hold a compass to a wire, the compass needle is attracted to the wire. 3. One practioner said that para 2 is all nonsense! She concluded that when Feng Shui was `born' there was no electricity. So she reasoned that this is not true. My own belief is that I would like to believe in Para 1 and 2. Para 1, electricity under current Feng Shui practise, many Masters/Practioners plus a few Feng Shui Authors do equate electricity with the " Water " element. These Feng Shui Practioners then apply the Feng Shui " Water Dragon Classics " theory when reviewing the landscape based on this. A short extract of the book of Water Dragon Classics is under this link http://www.geomancy.net/fs/wclassic.htm and some of the theories of the Water Dragon Classics is applied in http://www.geomancy.net/fs/wcourse.htm As for your question on:- Secondly, the Eight Associations so called " career corner " is too general to be taken seriously by MANY. Robert, will be coming up with a more accurate Eight Associations soon that will take into consideration your KUA number. This is more accurate than the notion that All career corners at e.g. at the North. Fast Food Feng Shui is where we simply go to find our elusive Career or even Wealth corner and not knowing little else. Like the saying goes " a little knowledge is a dangerous thing ". In fact, the reason why I mentioned this is that for today alone, I have answered at least 3 e-mails asking me on this. The question was:- Let's not be too hasty and jump to find our " elusive wealth corner " first without looking at the overall on Feng Shui. Lets get our basics correct on Feng Shui and this will be a good foundation in obtaining our `wealth or career' sectors. If you have the time and your ISP can allow you to subscribe to a newsgroup, do check out the newsgroup called: alt.chinese.fengshui you will find very interesting questions such as the above and you will also be amazed by some of the advise given. Dear Karen, In traditional Feng Shui practise, even in China, crystals were not widely used until today. Mostly it is due to the present day where modern technology is able to create such crystals cheaply and easily available to the public. So far, I understand only recently are Feng Shui authors writing about their own beliefs that crystals can be used as either an enhancement or a cure. I guess this field is very new and my `guess' is as good as yours as to whether it is that good. I remembered, last year while doing a Feng Shui audit for my friend. On my first visit, he placed around 5 to 6 crystals at the North West (Metal location) of his home. He explained to me that he does `Feng Shui' by trial and error. Normally when he placed an object, if nothing `bad' happens, he will leave it there and experiment further. One good thing that came out of this was that, by conducting such `isolated' experiments, if something really went wrong, he knew what to do. Rather than placing so many ehancements at the same period and not knowing what went wrong. To continue with this story, after my Feng Shui audit, it was `indeed' true that the crystals he used symbolic of the water element infact help the metal element at the North West... Thus his " intuitive " Feng Shui method worked for him. However, he also recounted that in many others he had failed. For instance, he mentioned to me that he experimented with placing some `enhancements' at a particular location. After that, he had quite alot of problems e.g. his car has to have a major repair, he had financial problems etc... My conclusion here is to only use crystals when there is a need (if a full Feng Shui audit has been conducted). As for placing it in the car... again.. anyone's guess to its effectiveness. This is still an open discussion. Dear Jackie, Yes, what you mentioned is the common belief or consensus by many Feng Shui Masters and Authors:) Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, March 08, 1999 2:10 AM Subject: Mirrors in bedroom

Dear Karen, It would be good if you can relook at a step-by-step guide on house to perform a Eight House analysis at this URL: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm I know everyone wants a `quick fix' solution and only think of e.g. the career sector. But to be frank, this is considered " Fast Food Feng Shui ". As I mentioned in a few messages in this forum that the Eight Associations or Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations is only a general guide ... not to be taken seriously .. until every other Feng Shui theory has been taken care off especially the Flying Star Chart. Even under the Eight Associations, the time factor should be taken care of. For those who want to find out more, Robert will at a later date create a more accurate software program to find out your `moving' Eight Aspirations rather than depend on the current static model. Again, the Eight Associations is again secondary Feng Shui. Anyone interested merely to zoom in to get `immediate' results from your so called " career or wealth corners " I believe will either be `very lucky' to find it or be truly disappointed with " Feng Shui". Traditional Feng Shui does not depend only on this `hope' but rather a more `holistic' approach to Feng Shui where all the various theories are used to the fullest. Dear Karen, Yes, I suggested that the mirror should be placed above the sink i.e. wash basin. Perhaps I would like to elaborate the reason for doing so is that if you have an attached bathroom, it would be better to place a mirror in the bathroom (i.e. above the sink) than to place it in the bedroom. But if your dressing table is not facing the bed, then it is acceptable to have a mirror on it.
