  1. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have been away from Singapore since 2005 and I have been working in Shanghai since then. It wasn't a delibrate decision to relocate, but rather, an opportunity that came along the way. My career has not been going too smoothly and I wonder if location will affect one's element/ba zi and career path? I have been told that I have the TianMa travelling star in my ba zi, which is why I wouldmost likely develop a career outside my place of birth? My ba zi (female) is Lunar (1981, 8th month, 13 day) at 7.00 p.m. to 8.59 p.m. and I am a strong Yin Metal (using the online generator on this website). I am currently inthe construction line (client servicing and marketing) and I am contemplating a change. I would like to seek advice on a more suitable career choice (and location too if possible) for someone my element/ba zi? In terms of Feng Shui, we always say that Location, followed by Location and last by Location is always an important influence to a person's Earth Luck. So normally, where you stay will certainly have some impact over your overall luck. A person is generally affected by 3 luck:- 1. Human Luck - luck you are born with and is suppose to have. 2. Earth Luck - luck from your home and surrounding environment. 3. Human Luck - luck from your relationship with others and your own hard work. Given Earth Luck has the most adverse influence, that is why the location factor where you stay tends to affect your current luck. Given you are away since 2005, this means that the place you are staying in Shanghai now is where most of your earth luck is being influenced. As for your ba zi, frankly, this is just a free advise forum, our main purpose is to adivse you based on information you provided. Given the numerous post that are seeking our advise, we do not have time to review your ba zi in-detail to know what is the factor in your heaven luck. So it could be you also are in alow luck period which can also add to further problems. However, as a Strong Metal person, generally this means that you generally have too much of Earth/Metal thus being strong. So Water/Wood/Fire would generally be favourable for you. Exactly which elements is most favourable depends on what is your five element percentage. So if you are a Strong Metal, then working in a construction line (Earth element),whileClient servicing and Marketing is (Earth/Fire). Given you are a Strong Metal, you are likely to already have more Earth/Metal, so ba zi career suitability wise does not really seems to be that favourable. So probably another reason why you may not be having a smooth career. As mentioned, Water/Wood/Fire elements would likely be more suitable but given I do not really know your exact percentage, can't say which one is most lacking etc. But you probably won't go wrong if you have more of such elements. You can refer to this link for more information about five element and career:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Given, you really want to know more about what career and what elements favour you, a detailed ba zi review may give you further insights to allow you to be able to plan your furture more properly. 2. Dear Jennifer, Jennifer Davis wrote: I'm a complete novice when it comes to Feng Shui. However, I know that it's terrible to have your bed facing the door of your bedroom. My boyfriend live in a small 60 meter apartment in St. Petersburg, Russia. We havea tiny bedroom and ahuge bed! Frankly, the only place we canplace the bed is against the wall facing the double doors of our bedroom that lead directly out to the living room. Our apartment has a very strange layout--there are no hallways: just doors that open to other rooms.Willhaving our bed facing these double doors really causebad health andearly death? Is there anything I can do to disrupt this bad flow of energy? Like windchimes or crystals? Generally, here are the key positions that you want to avoid for bed position if you possibly can. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm If not, then given you have such a huge bed, you might want to get those bed with like top canopy, then you can place like curtains to act like a screen between the door and bed.Or if space allows between the bed and the door, have a privacy screen between the bed and dor. In Feng Shui, as long as you can no longer see the problem, it no longer becomes a threat. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  3. Dear Aaron, Aaron Ng wrote: I will be getting the keys to my new flat directly from HDB next week. I was reading the door opening procedure from this link: http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/gettingkeys.pdf Hope my reply isn't too late. As we had a very busy period, so much so that didn't really see your post until today. Aaron Ng wrote: Since I'm getting the keys from HDB office, there's no facilitator. Is there another way to do the procedure? Also, because it's a completely new flat, there's no stove yet. Do I wait for renovation to complete before I carry out this procedure? If there is no facilitator, you can do it yourself. The initial door opening is just a procedure to attempt to seed luck into the house. As long as you choose a good date, you can proceed to carry out the procedure. This procedure is just like the move-in, start of renovation etc. All are procedures just to attempt to bring better luck and minimise any bad influence from happening. That is about all. Aaron Ng wrote: Lastly, is it ok to enter the unit first without doing the door opening ceremony? What are the negative consequences for doing so, if any? As mentioned above, these are just procedures that are supposed to welcome good luck and get rid of bad luck. They are optional procedures actually. So even if you do not do one or another it won't really bring about bad influence. So no need to worry. If you miss the initial opening, then at least try to make sure you perform the move-in before you actually move your furniture into the house. Or at least if you did select the auspicious dates, it will also be good enough. Here is a link to find auspicious dates if you need to:- URL: http://date.geomancy.net Hope that helps. 4. Dear Lynn, Anonymous wrote: I am reorganizing the front entry to my house and need to move all the books. I want to move the medical reference books to a place that will not create any bad energy. Where is the best place to keep these in the house? Generally, books are simply knowledge. As long as you keep them neatly in the shelves. It won't really create bad energy even though medical is often related to yin. So just place them in the your study. If you are really so bothered by it, try to get covered bookshelf so that the books titles are out of sight (hidden inside the shelf). In feng shui, what you can no longer see will no longer becomea threat. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Doris Lee wrote: There is nothing being place in this area except that family members will be walking in and out. Generally, as long as no family member is spending most time in sectors with illness/misfortune. The impact of these stars will be minimum. It would be worst if these stars falls in the bedroom. Then a cure needs to be present to reduce the impact otherwise the people who stay in the room will be most affected by it. However, even though this area is not used, it would still be best to avoid Bright Yellow or Bright Red colours which may activate the sector. Keep the area white/metal influence and it should minimise any impact. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  6. Dear Aaron Ng, Aaron Ng wrote: After dividing my house using the 8 house theory, I found one of the sectorsis split almost evenlybetween my master bedroom and another room. Since this is a favourable sector for me, does this mean that I should locate my bed in the part of the master bedroom where the favourable sector is? Yes, where the sector is split, we normally try to position the bed closer to the sector that is favourable to you. Or in cases we try to determine which sector covers the room the most. Then determine whether the room is suitable or not. But where it is very in between, then we try to locate like bed closer to the good sector. Also you can arrange your sleeping position to face the better directions. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  7. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Our house is located behind a church and graveyard, not directly about 30 m away, the church does not have a tall spire but a top like a castle. I wonder if I should put something on my front door to ward off any unhappy vibes from those who have passed away. Generally, the only thing about the Church is not to have the house face the Church Cross. As it is like a Sha Qi to the house. The other thing is sometimes Church bell may be a little nosy. But other than that, it is usually not a major concern. If the house cross faces the house, then you might have to put some mirror to reflect it away. The graveyard might be more probablematic as it is often thought to be unclean and can cause more unease especially if you walk alone at night. So probably you want to avoid:- 1)Having windchimes or anything bell-likethat makes noise which can attract the spirits. 2) Best to keep the house and surrounding yang and bright. For example red brick fence might be good as it is very yang. 3) Keep yourgarden clean and avoid lone trees which can attract dead. Unfortunately, those are two inauspicious influence to have in the house. 1. Toilet close to main door isn't auspicious as the Qi is like dirtied by the toilet Qi. 2. Toilet close to center influence of the house is like a leak of weath where all the influence meet. Unfortunately, since you cannot make major changes to move the toilet location, then you can only attempt to reduce or minimise some of the Qi leak. This isn't full proof as well as Qi will still be dirtied and leak out. However, since you do not have anything else you can do probably no choice. So try to hang a hulu (bottle gourd), which is said to be able to suck up some wealth before it leaks out. This should help minimise it. Also, probably you should consider fixing any other leaks in the house so that there won't be future feng shui leaks which could further reduce your luck. To permanently solve it, you either have to relocate the toilet or move to another house in the future. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET- Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

My classroom is on the west side of the building and windows face west? May I also request where I would put my wu lou with immortals and picture of bamboo? sincere thank yous. Generally, true feng shui is not about placement of items. It is more about the arrangement of furniture, colour scheme, chosing the right roomand most importantly the choice of a house with good location. What you mentioned like buddha with 5 children or lwu lou with immortals are generally what we considered more work of art. Some of these arts because they represent like wealth or buddha is being promoted as "feng shui items". However, in reality they are nothing but a work of art. No matter how you place them (ie face left/right etc), it won't really bring you significant luck etc. As there is really not miracle or special power that comes with it. They only make it place look nice and makes you feel good. So as long as you like the item, you can place it inyour homefor decoration as they are more decorative items rather than feng shui influence. Hope that helps. 12. Dear Maxx Ha, maxx ha wrote: My kua is 3 and my house is facing west. House period is 8. According to my kua, my house should not face west. What can I do to solve this problem. Unfortunately, your Kua determines your house suitability. So it tells you whether you will be able to benefit from staying in the house or not. So there isn't really anything you can do to make it suit you except to move to another more suitable facing house in the future. That is why when you first hunt for a house, choosing a good direction that is both suitable to you as well as having a good feng shui luck is important. In your case, as an East group person, a South or East facing would probably be better for two reasons. South (Prosperity) and East (Excellent) would be suitable to you. Also under the flying star South and East facing have the possibility of activating the double 8 if your house layout especially if that direction contains the frontage/living room area. However, after you bought the place, it won't be possible to fix the suitability problem. You can only attempt to enhance other area such as the flying star of the house etc to offset the unsuitability problem. maxx ha wrote: I am confuse about the kua wealth direction(South) and flying star wealth direction(east). Which direction I should follow? Generally, Eight House tells you your suitability to the house. If a house suits you, that means that you will be able to enjoy most luck from the house. However, Flying Star tells you how is the luck of the house itself. This means that your luck may be significantly enhanced if you have a house that has excellent feng shui. So both are equally important. You just need to know how to balance between the two concepts. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Generally, anything that faces the toilet door isn't auspicious. Especially, if you can see the toilet bowl when the toilet door is opened. There are usually only two ways to solve it:- 1. The most practical, is try to keep the toilet door closed. Also, keeping the toilet seat cover down when not in used is also a good open. 2. The other is to have some kind of screen/partition between your room and the toilet. In feng shui, when you can no longer see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. Hope that helps. 16. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm new here and hope to get further explanation pertaining to my feng shui report on my apartment number. My apt is: Blk 101-17-4, year building was built estimated in 1999/2000. The '81 Interpretation' analysis stated as 5 + 1 = illness & sickness. How does the 81 interpretation arrived at such analysis. So far for the 4 years of staying in my apt, there has been no major illnesses for me & my husband. No doubt, my daughter would experience minor sickness which is common for all small children. I keyed in '17-04' as the flat no.Did I key in the correct flat no.? Would really appreciate your expert input on this matter. Frankly, the auspicious house number only tells you whether a house number is auspicious or not. This analysis is based on the flying star chart, which is why there is the 81 unique interpretation such as 5+1 = illness & sickness. However, like I mentioned, all it really signify is whether your house number is considered auspicious or not. In this, case it is not auspicious. This concept came about because assuming the flat layout is the same, under the feng shui, it is said that the different apartment on different levels will have different luck. So basically say 17-04 and 16-04, they will have similiar flying star house luck but one may be better then the other depending on the house number. So you only need to be concerned about this concept when you are choosing a house number. As for the interpretation, you won't have illness unless that flying star house chart indicates that the sector has illness star. So any problems with the house depends a lot on the layout of the house and how the flying star chart affects the house. So basically, you just need to know that for another layout maybe higher or lower floor than your current level, might be better or worst. That is all. Hope that helps. 17. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I heard from my friend that since i have a Chye, 'cai ', in my name, i should display the word 'cai ' at home. I was told that the 'cai' is to be placed upside down, paste on the wall. Then put a vaseor container with some coins inside and place iton the floor under the 'cai '. This will help to generate wealth for me? Is it true? Please advise me on my wealth location. Thanks. Frankly, this isn't correct. Whatever meaning your name has, can't be activated by placing something in your home. The meaning in your name is only so call 'activated' when people call your name. It is not activated by any other means. That is why when most people choose names, they want to have certain meaning so that when people call it, it is like blessing that person with the meaning. So the more people call you by your name, the more luck you get from that name. There is really no other ways to activate it. In terms of feng shui luck, a person's luck is influenced by 3 factors:- 1. Heaven Luck - Luck that you are supposed to be born with. 2. Earth Luck - Luck from your home and surrounding environment. 3. Human Luck - Luck from your relationship with other people and your own hard work. These are the ways a person luck is affected. There is really nothing about luck that is activated by your existing name. Of course, if you have cai in your name, the more people call you more wealth you are blessed with. That is about all. The rest depends on the luck of your home etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  18. Dear Johannes Nugroho, Johannes Nugroho wrote: I am currently having a house built. The house will probably be finished by the end of the year. It faces northwest. I plan to have a fountain to the right of the main door, with the main statue in the fountain facing southwest, which is supposed to be one of my good directions. But then I read somewhere that the northwest sector is bad for any water feature. Is this true? I am a snake born in 1977. Thank you. Frankly, never just follow an advise or tip that you read elsewhere, unless you understand and/or applied the various tools available to personalised the analysis to your home. I mean why a certain say NW should not have any water can be due to so many factors. Different house facing will have different flying star for each sector. One reason why NW may not be good to have water, if there are bad stars there that may be enhanced by water. For installing water feature in your home, you should always make sure you have assess your home with the flying star chart. Ensure that the frontage is the right sector that contains the auspicious water star. For a period 8 house for example, if your front of the house contains a star8 (current prosperity) /9 (future prosperity) /1 (future future prosperity), then it is advantages tohave a water feature there. It does not mean that just because sayyour front of the housefalls in your Eight House prosperity sector or that the house element is auspicious, then you just simplyput a water feature in hope to activate thewealth luck. So you need to reallyneed to know that it is the correctsectorthen you activate that sector. Otherwise, it won't help. In this case, you need to ensure that there is an auspicious star at the front of the house with the flying star chart, then you activate it. You can make use of the free report in our member area to check it:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net If you are not sure, then you better get someone professional to assess your home and then they can tell you whether or not is is good to place water feature there. 19. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: 1) Under the section on Summary of Elements (ie Elements Weighting), no weighting was given to WATER whereas the 4 Pillar chart shows that there is ONE WATER element.. Also, I think there should be3 EARTH elements (per chart) and not 4 per Summary.. Is there an error in the demo report or have I misunderstood something? Determining the true element, means you have to also consider the combinations and clashes. Some pillars combine to form different elements. So sometimes even if your original chart have the water, but after combining with another element, it may lose the original element. In the case of this chart, the Water element was converted to Earth element. So the original water is no longer present. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with the report. It is just that there were much more factors considered then just a basic count of the five elements. Anonymous wrote: 2) As a separate question,IF this Demo Male has no Water element shownon the face of his 4 pillar chart, but if there isHIDDEN element, eg Water element formed by the combination of Yang Fire+ Yin Metal, will this hidden Water element be counted and weighted as much as if it is clearly indicated in the chart? In another words,if this hidden Water elementcanbeincluded to"balance" his chart, can we sayhis chartis no longer lacking in WATER (though weighting needs to be increased to achieve better balance)? Hidden elements are often not considered as part of the original element. As it is, it is already sometimes difficult to count all the main elements. To add in the hidden element changes would make it even more complicated and often, the hidden element only are present when certain factors occurs. So normally we do not include the hidden element as part of the tabulation of the original five element percentage. It is used more in the luck pillars analysis. Anonymous wrote: 3)Resulting from the abovequestion, ifheis no longer lacking in Water, can Waterbe stillconsidered his Most favourite element? This will depend on the percentage. We normally go by firstly what element you are. For example, Strong water would mean:- A person generally have too much metal and water. Thus, he is strong. So anything that helps to keep him in check is favourable. So Wood, Fire and Earth are generally the more favourable elements. After that, we use the percentage to determine which is more important. Say Wood 10%, Fire 5% and Earth 33%. This means that the most favourable is Fire, followed by Wood. Earth which is 33% is too much so a person won't benefit if he adds more Earth compared to Fire and Wood. However, adding Earth is still the favourable element, just that won't benefit as much compared to Fire or Wood. Thus, whether or not the water is favourable, depends on the percentage available. Anonymous wrote: 4) As a general question, are hidden elements morepowerful than the obvious ones? Not really. We use the hidden element usually more for the characteristic analysis rather then for the element itself. That is why we normally do not consider hidden element as part of the five element percentage. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

So really, there is no one who can also say for sure what would be right or wrong. I have done research on the timezone portion but not on the daylight savings. Generally, railways can pretty much be a sha qi depending on how the track cuts into the house. Even if it does not cut into the house, the common sense approach is that trains tend to be noisy. Can I place something on or behind her desk to help with this. I want her to get the most energy to help her study and not feel drained out. Given that you can't place the desk elsewhere, there is nothing much you can really do to remove the draining effect. The most impact is when the toilet bowl is at the opposite side of the wall. Otherwise, the impact won't be as bad. So I would suggest these few things to do:- 1. Normally, when there is a toilet at the center of the house for example where wealth is drain, a solution is to buy a bottle gourd to attempt to suck the wealth before it leaks out. This may help to retain some of her energy other then attempting to make sure that the toilet bowl is covered when not in used. 2. The other is to make the room more suitable to her element she lack. As for the car number question, there isn't a feng shui analysis for car number. Under feng shui, normally two methods are used:- 1.While there are numerous way to determine how auspicious a number. For example, most will go by sounding of the number 9984 (jiu jiu fa si - longevity longevity prosperty death). Theother numbers all would be ok except for maybe the 4 which sounds like death in cantonese. 2. Others is to determine whether this si an auspicious gua number or not. http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-eight-gua-number.htm ie 9984 = 9+9+8+4 = 30 = 3+0 = 3 If your gua is 3, then this is considered a favourable number for you. With that, you should be able to calculate a percentage breakdown. As these are not easy to tabulate, we already provided them in oout paid ba zi reports so there is no need to waste time to calculate it manually. So the simple way iscount all the number of elements present and total element. Then divide it so that you get a percentage. Of course, it won't be as accurate if you do not factor in the element strengthen and the combinations and clashes occuring. So if there are 4 earth out of 12 elements. It should be about 33%. Anonymous wrote: eg. If self element is Strong Fire, and the Day pillar branch isWood (spouse), does this mean that the spouse is destructive to self because self element is already Strong? Or do weignorethe strength or weakness of the elements and just look at the normal relationshipcycle ie, Woodis good for fire as it produces fire here? We normally take the final element strengthen then relate the relationship pillar to that. So like you gave Strong Fire person, the day pillar is Wood. Wood will make Strong fire too strong. Therefore, it is more likely the relationship with the Spouse may not be as smooth as one hope to be. Other factor such as horoscope of two persons to compare as well as ba zi comparison between two pillars. That will give more information about a relationship. The rest will be the human luck factor. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
