  1. This is a glimse of one of the most beautiful temple in Singapore. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee
  2. Dear Tammie, Frankly, if anyone ask me 5 or 6 years ago, I may think that way i.e. what you had mentioned. But since then, I have looked at many homes and do not see a correlation that a noisy place drives off fortune. However, contrary to this, under Flying Star Feng Shui, if a location has a combination of two specific bad #numbers that needs quiet at a location, then, what you mentioned, holds true. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear All, In this second part, one can also see how often, many FS practitioners get their Ba Zi wrong. In fact, these two case studies are real life examples, where, these two persons, were `mislead' to think that their elements were i.e in the first earlier example - strong earth. While in this second example, they were told that the analysis resulted in this case as a weak earth. This example shows how, this person especially due to double combinations of his element became a `strong earth' person. Depends on how comprehensive the analysis, most of the analysis takes only the basic 4 pillars. Thus the resulting elements would be:- 1 Water 2 Earth 2 Wood 1 Fire 2 Metal Given the seasons of birth Earth is Extremely Weak and he has 2 extremely weak earth, plus 1 Strong Fire against, 2 Strongest Wood and 1 Water which destroy Fire. This would seem at a glance that this person is a weak Earth. If you consider all the clash and combinations etc. 0 Water 1 Earth 3 Fire 2 Wood 2 Metal Again, if you consider the combinations and clashes, the resulting elements would change as above. In this case, the number of Fire would increase, decreasing the water which unfavourable for this person as there is now water now to destroy the Fire which is a Earth person's favourable element. Thus, this person is not as weak as it original seem. In addition, if you have the full blown chart with the House of Life and house of Conception, again, this will change as there is additional 2 Fire element added from his House of LIfe and House of Conception. In additon, there is an additional Earth element in the House of Conception. 0 Water - weak 2 Wood - strongest 5 Fire - strong 2 Earth - extremely weak 3 Metal - weakest No doubt, this person is a extremly weak earth, but it is strengthen by the 5 strong Fire which exhaust the 2 strongest wood to again give strength to the extremely weak earth. So under this circumstances, this person is a Strong Earth as opposed to a weak Earth as originally defined. Determining a person's element strength is extremely important as a weak earth is different from a strong earth. In our reports, we go all out to provide all the necessary analysis to determine this as we understand the importance and impact of having determined the correct element strength. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Anon, 1. Every seasons lasts for three months. And the third month of every season, is considered the earth element. 2. What this means is that:- Spring comes, Spring dies (earth becomes strong) Summer comes, Summer dies (earth becomes strong) Autumn comes, Autumn dies (earth becomes strong) Winter comes, Winter dies (earth becomes strong) 3. Thus both authors are not wrong to say what you had mentioned. 4. However, in a Ba Zi or Pillars of destiny, the Year, Month, Day, Time, House of Life and House of Conception are looked at. (Where each pillar e.g. Year, month etc... has each a heavenly stem and earthly branch. 5. These elements are looked at in relation to the day of birth pillar. For example, if the day pillar has earth element. The free report by default only provides the birth element and default the strength to weak. 6. Attached, please find example 1: A person who is considered as a weak earth person. 7. The Ba Zi computation takes care of which season, earth is strongest or weakest as this will affect the element at the time you were born. Therefore, the report has taken into consideration many of the factors i.e. what is your season of birth, any clash, or combinations of your elements. 8. Many of us, may not be aware but, many practitioners fall short of fully analysing the birth chart of a person. For example, in this attached sample, one will see that some FS practitioners may mistaken the person born in that date to be a `strong earth' person. Here is how they could easily have mistaken the person to be strong. And this is an actual case where one practitioner had got it wrong as they not done sufficient work. The mistake has arisen to consider the person as strong earth element:- Most of the normal ba zi analysis will only consider the Year, Month, Day & Hour of Birth. If you consider only that, you can see from the example 1. The original elements in the chart will be as follows:- 2 Metal 3 Earth 1 Wood 2 Fire 0 Water This is assuming no combinations was considered and the House of Life and House of Conception was not taken into account. In the above, you can see that being a Earth person, he has 3 earth, plus 2 fire whichi produces it. This makes his favourable elements to be 5 out of 8 elements. Which is already a clear indication that he is likely to be a Strong Earth person (even if we do not yet consider the seasons of birth influence). However, if you consider the Combination which occur in Hour or Day Earthly Branch wei and Year Earthly Branch wu. This is a combination that will occur and because of the favourable conditions it will combine to change the original element from wei-wu (earth-fire) to Wood element. This change reduces the two favourable elements earth and fire and change it to 2 unfavourable element wood which destroy Earth. 2 Metal 2 Earth 3 Wood 1 Fire 0 Water Thus, if you consider the combinations that resulted, the final element summary would be different and thus, making it a weaker Earth than originally determined. Similiarly, because now the House of Life and House of Conception was considered, there will be further changes to the element summary which affects whether a person is weak or strong. All the analysis done in the computerised version takes into account every possible Clash,Harm, punishment & self punishment, and every possible Joins, Double/Triple combinations. Every additional analysis will have an overall impact on the final analysis. However, if any one analysis is yet to be considered, the final analysis deduced will never be accurate. Thus, we find that it is a pitty that many calculation done are often lacking in many of detailed analysis in order to do a complete Pillars of Destiny Analysis. Therefore, the environment earth strength has already being factored into the Ba Zi. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee
  5. Dear Pauline, 1. For a fountain, do not automatically regard the statemenst of North or SE for the placement of a fountain. 2. If your fountain is low level i.e. not more than 1 foot high, then it should be placed in a `clear space' area. The balcony area is the best choice for a fountain. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Wasis, If the altar is not for praying e.g. holding figurines, you can still leave it on the position you had proposed earlier. But tilt the figurines looking away from the bedroom. Here, tilt the figurines towards the living room area would be acceptable. But if it is an altar for praying, then, the figurines should not be tilted but an alternative location should be looked at. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Wasis, Attached please two additional alternatives. Appreciate, if you can further comment on what the altar is e.g. praying to. Please refer to my earlier comments under Part I on these two files. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Wasis, Thank you for your file attachment of your layout plan. 1. I have taken the liberty of also adding the bedroom layout plan based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 2. The two main attachments:- blueprint-wasis1.jpg - Option 1 with bedroom/wardrope layouts under S/no. 1, 2, 3, 4. And alter position Alternative 1. blueprint-wasis2.jpg - Option 2 with alternative bedroom/wardrope layouts under S/no. 1A, 2A and 3A. 3. With alternative positions for the placement of the altar:- 3.1 Alternative 1A 3.2 Alternative 1B 3.3 Alternative 2 3.4 Alternative 3 4. Comments Before we look at the various alternatives, my major concerns are as follows:- 4.1 Your proposed location is acceptable even if it is on the same wall as the toilet area since, this wall is `clean' and unlike the location where you had the 8 immortals picture placed. The altar should not be at that location (since it is on the opposite wall as the WC). 4.2 The main concern with your proposed location is that the altar will be facing `into' the bedroom. Marked as S/no 1. I tried to play with the various orientation of the bed in this bedroom and it seems that each way, the the bed will face the altar directly and thus inauspicious. In Part II, I will attach file attachments of :- blueprint-wasis3.jpg blueprint-wasis4.jpg 5. Comments on the various alternatives of the placement of the altar Alternative 1A is inauspicious IF it faces the main door. (From your past message, you mentioned that you may want to tilt the main door entrance. If so, this spot may be considered afterwards. Alternative 1B - this is a possibility. Alernative 2 - this is acceptable location. And it's distinct advantage is that the living room and dining room can be segregated into two `auspicious' rectangular shape. Alternative 1 - this is acceptable location. As it is similar to option Alternative 2, where the living room and dining room can be segregated into two `auspicious' rectangular shape. The only decision if this is chosen is either whether to face towards the garage area or pavement area. Alternative 3 - is a remote possibility. I say remote because, it would be inauspicious to have the altar face the dining table. If it does not and if the altar is higher than the basin opposite it, then this is a possible location. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Anon, Please see below:- Since your home is under renovation, a simple solution is the use of white e.g. white (to represent) additional metal element to neutralise #4. This is of secondary consideration. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Eleni, In my opinion, sector Feng Shui or paying homage to a sector is too general. "Paying homage" to a sector or even if the sector is missing may not necessary mean it is the marriage sector. It is best to look at Feng Shui from a holistic approach. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Alan, Honestly, it is very difficult for me to comment based on a few statements. Usually, tilting the door on the same spot of the existing door, may not make much difference in the direction based on Flying Star Feng Shui compass direction. In addition, usually, the new direction must match the breadwinner's Ba Zi. And this also includes the environment, the site and the house. Frankly, I hope you understand, for issues like tilting a door; I am unable to provide you a Yes or No answer without considering the full sphere of other inputs. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. The Ming Tang or semi-circular water positions is again a protective form of Feng Shui. And used more by traditional Feng Shiu practitioners. Picture below showing, the semi-circular water position radiating outwards of the Hyatt Hotel. Hyatt Hotel, strongly uses black (representing water element) in the interior decor. There is also a vibrant water fountain at the car park lobby area. Water is used extensively in this building. And it also employs the Yin and Yang concept of water (YIN) pouring out of rocks (YANG). This is typical of the type of concept used by Chinese monks when asked to Feng Shui a site.
  13. 1. This building uses Castle Gate Theory in tilting it's main entrance. To be effective, time dimension is taken into consideration. 2. Overall, it uses the Ming Tang or semi-circular feature both as a water feature as well as the steps. 3. The main doors are tilted to a favourable direction. 4. When it was first built, this building was in the form of an earth building. (flat and rectangular in shape). 5. Many hotels try to maximise room space and even new hotels today e.g. The Ritz Carlton Singapore uses an earth shape. 6. However, if one looks carefully at the roof or outline of the roof, it has been changed to reflect a water feature. 7. Because of its white colour, the building uses three elements auspicous flow where:- earth -> metal -> water harmonious combination 8. The rationale is because this building was Feng Shuied by a highly respected reverend monk who died a while back. Because of religous inclination not to do harm, it was felt that this type of Feng Shui is `white Feng Shui'. Where, rather than looking at the surrounding buildings to `dominate' them to create wealth, this reverend monk, decided to use a harmonious combination of the three elements earth, metal, water to create auspiciousness coupled with the Castle Gate theory. And of course, the popular use of the `Ming Tang' or semi-circular fountain radiating outwards of the hotel. The steps also radiate in a semi-circular effect out of the hotel main doors. The main glass doors are tilted at an angle towards the main road. And, it's handle bars are wavy (water element and in gold). Please see attached pictures.
  14. 1. Another interesting interplay of the use of Five Elements Concept are two shopping complex opposite each other (separated by a road). 2. These two shopping centres facing each other are:- Wisma Atria vs Lucky Plaza (Please refer to the attached pictures) 3. Lucky Plaza was built around the late 1970s and is considered a much older building than Wisma Atria. 4. Wisma Atria Wisma Atria is predominantly an Earth building. It is clad fully in blue or water element. And it uses water feature extensively. Even it's logo is wavy. The rationale for doing so is because, for an Earth building (Wisma Atria) water is the wealth element. Furthermore, an MRT station runs along this building. And MRT station is considered a a metal element. Here, metal and water are combined with great effect. 5. Since Lucky Plaza is facing it, and since it is an old building, it has no choice but to use shelters shading its frontage with the fire element. The fire element (red) is used to neutralise the water element of Wisma Atria. Another case of shopping centre war in Singapore. Here, the Five elements concept is used extensively in the fight for `supremacy' especially for a newer building against it's surround buildings. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. 1. This building (known as Liat Towers) is across the road from Shaw House. 2. Liat Towers is considered as an earth building. For much of it's life, it has a poor history where many major tenants had pulled out or gone down badly. This includes the famous French - Galleries Lafayette. Today, Planet Holiday, situation here also is facing a financial crisis. The Shaw House as mentioned in an earlier forum message is a Metal building (clad with metal and water element). And when this two elements are used up, it draws `wealth' from earth elements nearby. One building directly across the road is Liat Towers. The scene has changed somewhat, due to a new building next to it. This is the Wheellock Place which has being build next to Liat Towers in 1997. The Wheellock Place, is considered a Fire building. And as it is a fire building, it will help to destroy metal and contain it further. Overall, because of this new building, it has helped Liat Towers (earth building considerably).
  16. Further to the earlier messages on Castle Gate Theory, the pictures here show some pictures of Shaw House. 1. Shaw House uses the Castle Gate theory of Feng Shui. 2. It's building was purposely, renovated to become a `metal' building. 3. In some of the attached pictures, you will find huge circular pillars clad in black marble with `metal ring' base. 4. Here, water helps the metal building. 5. The rationale for this is simple. Many of the surrounding buildings opposite to Shaw House are of the earth element. For example, liat towers and Tangs Shopping Centre/Marriot Hotel. Here, Shaw House being a metal building, uses water (it's mixed cladding of metal with water) draws wealth from EARTH element buildings near-by.
  17. Dear Anon, 1. One can consider `binding element' as a key success factor for a home. 2. What is the binding element? 2.1 Before we can understand binding element, we need to take a look at an example:- Husband's Ba Zi is weak water. Wife's Ba Zi is weak wood. 3. Binding element simply means finding an element that can bind the two partners together. 4. In the above example, the binding element for a weak water person with weak wood person is the Water element. This report is available as the comparison chart for two parties under www.geomancy-online.com 5. It is also interesting to note this because, in the past, rich parents would consult a geomancer to find out how compatible the two `partners' are in their marriage. In the above example, since there is only ONE binding element: i.e. weak wood vs weak water = water element. The clue here is that this two are suppose to be compatible. 6. In another example:- Husband element = weak earth Wife element = weak water In this example, the binding elements are Fire and water element. 6.1 In the past, if the Ba Zi of this two persons are considered, they are considered as not so compatible. The rationale here is that they need two elements to bind them together. Thus, their binding element are Fire and Water element. 7. What then is the binding element? In the above two examples, one can see that binding element is about comparing two parties element and strength. This is useful, for decorating especially the rooms that they sleep in. For a husband and wife (weak wood vs weak water), their binding element as we understand is Water element. 7.1. In the above example, one useful situation is to have some `blue/black or grey' in the room. For example, the walls in the room can be painted in blue. And since weak wood's favourable colours are: Metal and water While weak water's favourable colours are: Water and wood. Given the above understanding, one can mix and match colour or materials in the room to achieve the best of both binding and favourable colours. For example: Alternative 1: ============== Paint the bedroom wall - blue Bedsheet - alternate between White and Green Cabinet - can be white Alternative 2: ============== Paint the bedroom wall - white Bedsheet - alternate between Blue or Green or white Cabinet - wood laminated in blue or grey One can therefore, mix and match combinations as shown in the above examples and more to come up with various alternatives. In the living room or furniture, one can go for binding elements that bind both partners and again mix and match elements that are favourable to both. Once this is achieved, it does not matter if the curtains can use other colours even if they are not favourable to the couple. Since, we have sufficient elements of favourable colours already. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Alan, 1. Thank you for bringing up this interesting question. 2. The rationale why, this question comes along is because it is not often that an event that happens every 20 years occur. Especially since the last event change of period occurred prior to the commercialisation of the web. Many users have not seen the effects of such a change. 3. Following past precedence, most houses renovated under Period 1984 to 2003 will continue to have the influence of Period 7 after 2003. However, in some instances, especially big buildings or large buildings may have their enhancements negated one year after the shift. Please note here, the mention is about `enhancements' made under Period 7 based on Flying Star. 4. For micro Feng Shui e.g. small square area such as apartments, the influence is small. But if the enhancements are based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui, this would still be ongoing. Therefore, unless one does a major renovation under Period 8, a house would remain a Period 7 house. Similarly, a Period 6 house had continued to have a Period 6 characteristics even under Period 7. The changes under Period 8, would be some changing of fortunes. And sometimes, business have change of fortunes. Especially when we look at a road. In many instances, business across the road is much busier than that road. But, fortunes may change, e.g. the opposite side of the road gets busy. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Wasis, 1. Generally, yes the 15th lunar month is overall an acceptable date. 2. If you want to, please e-mail us at support@geomancy.net with your geomancy-online.com report account no. We will give you a free complimentary credit for a month report. Wishing you all the best. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Apologise for the "misleading" title of this tip. Actually, this is a quote from Singapore's Minister of State (Trade and Industry and Foreign Affairs), Mr Raymond Lim. " I think one of our problems is that we are very impatient people and that it is the instant tree approach. You know, in Singapore, when you want to have a tree, you don't sort of grow it slowly. Just take a tree and plant it and get an instant tree" Mr Raymond Lim Many of us can draw a parallel, in " Fast Food Feng Shui "! How true his statement for everyone in the world indeed! Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee
  21. Dear Yew-Meng, Please see below:- Thank you for your sketch. Yes, it is a great help to understand your present situation. Note: For those, who want a more exact response, feel free to attach a sketch. As the saying goes `a picture is worth a thousand words. My observations from your sketch are as follows:- 1. The river bending outwards of your `frontage' of your house looks good. 2. It would normally be better if the water flow is flowing from compass direction "West" to "East". In your sketch, it looks like the water flow is based on this west to east approach. Here, the perception is that it is better in such a situation as negative ions can be present. 3. Your layout is typical of many condominiums (although yours is a landed property). For example, many condominums have their main doors at the `back' i.e. they entire their homes from the backside and their frontage is (similar) to yours where it faces water position. 4. Your home has good shapes and forms because it has rectangular shaped plot of land. I believe your roof is also pointed triangle `reflecting' back towards the neighbour. Since your neighbour's roof is pointed towards yours (but looks like no threat). 5. Your main door is protected as it is away from the main gate. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear George, Frankly, it is not exactly Feng Shui. But overall, it is certainly nice to have birds around! In Feng Shui, we call this the secret ingredient. Or, birds around or close to the house is a `secret' ingredient. Usually, where there are birds, it normally suggests greenery. I am not sure, if this is the case, but, a garden with birds or birds coming into the estate in most instances means greenry around. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Serene, Thank you for a picture showing the main entrance area. From what I can see, there is relatively no need for you to place a ba gua mirror above your main door for the following reasons:- 1. Contrary to what may have been preceived, your main door is `protected' by the wall which is quite a distance away. 2. Perhaps, if there is a long and narrow corridor that `ends' at your main door, or the corridor railing / wall points into the main door, then this is considered a threat. It is it a corridor railing / wall angled towards your door, a simple solution is to place plants along the corridor area to soften the blow. 3. Normally, it would not be good to place ba gua mirrors in your situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Michael, Please see below:- A Professional Geomancer or FS practitioner will not mix the sale of products with consultancy. If these two are placed together, then such a practise often becomes unreliable. Take a parallel situation. The case of Arthur Anderson situation. Arthur Anderson, which suppose to have a core business of accountancy, has side business e.g. management consultancy services. And, in such a situation, the accounting side would close their eyes since, they are earning lucrative money on consultancy services. Although Feng Shui is not as sophisticated as this, we can draw a parallel here. A Feng Shui site that provides both advise and selling e.g. figurines would naturally, try to push the sales of their products. Many a times in the guise of placing `fear' into their clients or mystic that wealth sectors can be enhanced. Many book authors simply churn out books and books on the same subject but packaged in different ways. In my opinion, what these authors should have done is to write one or two good books on a subject by presenting the subject directly to their audience. But instead, many of these authors, go beyond that and `suggests' products without much personalisation. In such a situation, they are doing more harm than good to the society. Authentic Feng Shui need not necessarily, mean spending large amounts of money on material goods. Or paying homage to a sector. At Geomancy.net, we could easily have a store or Feng Shui emporium selling tons of figurines and earning big bucks from it. But this is always against my and Robert's conscience. Equally, we will not suggests users to buy this or that. This is not good practise. Tips on Feng Shui enhancements should always state clearly: 1. what is the aim or purpose of the specific concept. 2. what are it's strength and weakness. 3. where possible, varing practises are given for you to decide. And users are then made to decide for themselves. In authentic Feng Shui and Chinese divinity methods, it is all about the Five Elements Concept or Yin and yang. Since, a wide cross section of the various methods use it (Five Elements) across a spectrum. For example, Flying Star, Ba Zi and other concepts. This is considered the lowest common denominator. And it provides a broad overview for: trouble-shooting problems or enhancements to be made. The only caution is that not all sites or schools use the same metholodgy. Where possible, if the site is `reliable' or one has confidence in the site, then try to understand the methodology behind it. Sector Feng Shui or saying e.g. North is the career sector for everyone in the whole world is not good enough. Even in statistics, there is the issue of probability. How can the probability of success for North = career and enhancing it is 100% or even 70% successful? Frankly, many of us may never need Feng Shui and go on happily with our lives. Here, many of us use our intution to guide us all or most of the time. Since 1980's with the advent of Fast Food Feng Shui, many lives are `broken'. Horror stories abound of husbands divorcing with e.g. their wives. In some of these instances, money spent on figurines etc... and sometimes on `borrowed' money such as credit card debts are on the rise. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Yew-Meng, In Feng Shui, for the purpose of taking readings under the Flying Star Feng Shui; it is best to still take the compass readings from the main door. Usually, under Flying Star Feng Shui, the two most common method of accessing a home is:- 1. As mentioned earlier, to take the compass direction of the main door from the centre-point. 2. Another method, using the luopan is to face the luopan (from inside the main door) facing outwards). Since the main door is often facing the frontage of the house. 3. In both cases, the concern is more of the main door or the frontage. 4. It is secondary, if you are using the back door as the main door here. As most of the analysis is or will be based more of the `frontage' area. 5. Since the readings are taken from the front / or main door direction, each sector can be looked at for any imbalance to correct it. Or if a mountain star is found at this backdoor area, it can be activated for luck. 6. As you can see, from the Compass School point of view, the back door will not be used as the main door. 7. It is highly detrimental if the backdoor is facing a hill. (WHERE, it now changes to become a FRONT or MAIN door). This is highly inauspicious. 7.1 For certain houses, that do it, may invite calamity i.e. changing such a door from being a back door to a main door. Warmest Regards, Cecil
