  1. Development: Robertson 100 Developer: MCL Land Type of Development: Condominium 186 units Location: Robertson Quay, Singapore URL of MCL Land: http://www.mclland.com.sg/property/dreamhomes/robertson/default.asp Overall, the External Shapes and Forms: plot of land is acceptable. However, in my opinion, do check where the toilet locations are especially for Type C's and Type B's. From what I have seen, for Type C's majority of the layout plans have toilets at the centrepoint/close to the centrepoint of the unit(s). For Type B's e.g. Type Be's, there are significant missing corners. Sample of bad layouts of this development are attached below. Recommendation: It is no point having acceptable external Shapes and Forms. Where possible, try to avoid purchasing units with toilets at the centrepoint and be careful of units with significant missing corners.
  2. The `Water-gate' Effect 1. `Water-gate' was a term notorius with the Nixon presidency that had caused him to resign from the US presidency. 2. In Feng Shui, it is considered not good to have a watery or wavy designed main gate. 3. The implication is wealth cannot be retained and drained off. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. There are two important points to note:- 1. Never change the position of the bed during pregnancy. 2. New Home? House Moving? During pregnancy, avoid moving house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Type of figurine ================ Lions - preferably should be placed as a pair facing out of the main door Rooster - avoid placing this in the master bedroom. (Rooster symbolises quarrels) Dragon - peferably placed in the living room Dog - preferably it should face the main door. Water poster/paintings should not be placed at the head of the bed or in the bedroom location. Bird - If the painting has too many birds, avoid placing it at the dining area. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Debasis, In my opinion, the figurine should be considered more as a decorative piece. Frankly, there is nothing magical with the piece. Personally, I have such a piece (as shown) attached. I personally liked it because, it was made in the early 1930's. It is nice to look at because of his (buddha's) lovely smile and nice to see kids climbing (taking advantage) of him:) As mentioned, we should treat these pieces as interior art pieces. But, if one have such pieces, it is best not to let them face into bedrooms, on the same wall as toilet etc... Otherwise, enjoy! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. 1. In Professional Feng Shui, the true determination of a wealth or multiple wealth corners depends on the assessment done using Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. As many of us are aware, sector Feng Shui or paying homage to just a particular sector may not work at all. 3. Especially, if a Feng Shui practitioner has a routine of telling every of his/her client that e.g. the wealth corner is e.g. `diagonal to the main door'. The probability is that out only 1 or none of his clients can ever achieve wealth using such a method. 4. Feng Shui is about earth luck. And it is best therefore to try and increase luck in all sectors. Rather than, paying homage to just one sector. Another Question: Is there such a thing as placing e.g. a piggy bank at a wealth corner? Well put it this way, there is really no harm if someone tells you that you have a wealth corner somewhere. And you follow it. However, commonsense tells us that, one does not lose anything here. Perhaps, the sight of money, can spur one on? Motivational aspects... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. When we discuss fire element, usually, lighting is not taken into consideration in this caution note! Although Red is considered an auspicious colour, the following need to be taken into consideration:- If one is not sure, or had not properly consulted a Feng Shui practitioner, it is best not to use fire (red, pink or purple) liberally because: 1. Fire element will fuel or help earth element. (For those who are aware of Flying Star Feng Shui, it will further fuel bad earth e.g. #2 sickness or #5 misfortune, sickness. 2. Fire element is also a destroyer or the metal element especially if it is used as a cure. Besides, this, there are more considerations with regards to fire element:- 1. For a weak water person, it is disadvantages to have fire (pink, purple or red.) 2. Too much fire element is too yang and usually is not as suitable a colour for the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. 1. Can Condominium Apartments facing buildings take advantage of water positions? Yes and No. 2. For condominum units it would normally not be advantages to take up units at ground level to the 3rd level as Qi flow will normally not be vibrant. Please that this is just an average statement and does not take into account each individual site or location. 3. For condominium units, it is best to take up floors at the middle to one unit before the top unit. 4. Such condominium apartments level 4 or more by themselves have `virtual water' element and normally may not be able to take advantage of `pool' water. 5. The top or highest floor is not advised because usually after several years, the issue of water-proofing especially if the quality of workmanship is not acceptable; there may be leaks from the roof or from the side of the building soaking into the unit. 6. However, in certain circumstances, where there is a vibrant Qi, e.g. a water fountain below the unit. Even if the unit is high e.g. 18 or more floors can take advantage of the water to catch `wealth' by the use of metal element e.g. 6 rod wind chime hang at a strategic location. Please see a rough sketch. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    L shape

Dear Barbara, In my opinion, under Feng Shui, `L-shaped' houses are not unlucky. More importantly, if one is trying to audit or access an `L-shaped' home, then, one has to try to find the centrepoint as well as one can further sub-divide the house into two `symbolic' rectangles to access the home. Therefore, rest assured that an `L-shaped' home does not necessarily mean inauspiciousness. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Anon, Please see below:- In my opinion, this has to do more with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. Perhaps, I need to side track abit:- Overall, the most popular `bird' is the mystical bird i.e. Phoenix. In Chinese culture, a wedding card will inevitably have a phoenix (representing) female and dragon (male) symbol representing this union of couples. The other more popular symbolic birds are: the egale, pheasant, swallow, crane and magpie. Now coming to `birds'. Sorry, if sound crude but the Mandarin worn for bird or `niao' is `penis'. (Once again, apologies - but this is true!) There was a time when Nissan cars came up with a model called " Blue Bird ". Here, many Chinese especially call this car " Lan ciao " or Blue penis (blue bird). This model was thus not very popular or had fewer sales than Nissan's " Sunny ". Once again, please accept my sincere apologies on this real case study. Overall, unless one is a bird lover, therefore, birds are not ideal pets. Especially since they are kept in cages. And to many people, seemed a cruel thing to do. In fact, some Chinese do buy e.g. doves and set them free. Grand Duke (represents the planet Jupiter). It is said that such a large planet has a large magnetic field. For this horse year it is located at 180 degrees (SOUTH). Here, Grand Duke is sitting South facing North. The idea is not to `disturb' or `touch him' at South. Since the animal sign Horse (South) is loggerheads with Rat (North); the North is considered as the 3 Killings location. And at the 3 killings location (North), this year, it is best not to do any renovations here. The most important consideration is based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui (exterior: landscape, site, land). After this, then see where each family member fits. And also, eqaully important the shapes and forms of the interior The main consideration is the plot of land and try to make it as rectangular as possible. Feel free to check out reasonably priced International Off-site audit (for more information) at:-http://sg.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/offsite-consultation.htm Yes, the main door can be at the side of the house. And it is common to have it at this location. But, the main consideration is that everything should fit in nicely. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, Please see below:- - In my opinion, in general, it is best if one can not to purchase the house. - Perhaps, you can also ask the existing owner what is the rationale for them selling the unit. 1.What is your view on the effect of the station & the lane and the unit??s overall feng shui and it??s cure? Frankly, it is NOT practical to `cure' such a Yang effect coming from the Fire station. Not practical because, one has to literally close the curtains or close the main door most of the time. 2. Will it benefits a breadwinner of weak earth element perhaps needing more fire? This is to do more with which direction the main door is facing and whether it matches the Ba Zi of the breadwinner. For example, the bright Red coloured wall of the Fire station is considered a Sha Qi. And frankly, I do not see how it can co-exist with one's element. Even if one needs `fire' this is not exactly the type of `fire' one wants. There is a difference between personal enhancement and Sha Qi. 3. What about the effect on the other family members of strong earth and strong wood elements? As mentioned above, we are talking about two different issues. It is not possible for Sha Qi to work advantages for us. - Frankly, it is difficult to comment on this unless you can draw a proper sketch. As such a judgement involves many factors. This includes the distance between the blocks, the distance between the gap etc.. - Being a west life and a weak earth person, the door faces SE, unfavourable Liu Shai and wood. However, the living, dining and master seems favourable in NE, Nien Yen-Earth, NW, Sheng Chi-Metal and SW,Tien Yen-Earth. Since the maindoor leads to a short passage way and where activities are limited, are the unfavourable effect limited and may not be even of upmost important in this case? I have heard of geomancer that advise on checking on the window facing rather that the door if both the door and window that do not align, please confirm? The easiest way out is always to use a Luopan and point it to the location with the brightest light that comes into the house. This is where, it is relatively easy to find the `facing' and `sitting' direction. However, if one really takes a closer look at the Flying Star chart i.e. a 24 degree increment, one still has to find out exactly the compass direction of the main door. Taking the easy way out, this is simply based soley on the Luo pan readings. However, if one wants to take true compass directions, one has to find out the centrepoint of the house. And from this centrepoint determine the exact compass degree of the main door to plus or minus 15 degree increments. It is fine if the Geomancer provides you with his/her advice based on the luopan. But if one uses a Flying Star chart with the mathematical formulas on it, one would have guessed that it requires a precise determination based on the compass direction. For example, take the case of the Eight House Theory. Here, the advise is to take the compass readings from the centrepoint. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm If one notice carefully, the centrepoint is usually the location where the centre of gravity is located. And both Eight House and Flying Star are compass school Feng Shui. As mentioned earlier, some geomancers, for their convenience, read off from their Luo pan and provide advise (or rough) advise based on it. Some even do not provide you confirmation with tools such as Flying Star chart. The forum and other resources in this site, can provide some clue as to their use. But it is diffcult to list out the exact order. As no two situations are the same. However, roughly, the order is as follows:- THE HOME/OFFICE 1. Shapes and Forms (external, site, building, home) 2. Eight House Compass School (birth chart of the house) PERSONAL SELF 1. Eight House 2. Ba Zi 3. Ba Zi Feng Shui In the forum, I mentioned that there are three easy steps: 1. What is the purpose of each theory 2. What are its strenghts 3. What are its weakness - If one is applying Flying Star Feng Shui, then if a house is built under Period 6 or Period 7, the house will continue to remain as e.g. a Period 6 or Period 7 house. There is really nothing new here. For example, under this current period, a Period 6 house has continued to remain as a period 6 house. (Unless there is a major renovation that changes this to a period 7 house). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Anon, Please see below:- If you have seen the various examples i.e. not only Meyer but references to other `Receive positions' under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/home-househunting.htm You will notice that the one primary concept of Shapes and Forms is to `Receive'. However, the fundamental thing is that NOT ALL SITES are the same. The above gives a CLUE as to what to look out for in ADDITION to other Shapes and Form Feng Shui. It would be silly if one based on my suggestion to buy this type of house and happen that the house is on top of a badly eroded hill. Or any other unfavourable Shapes and Forms. As mentioned above, "It depends". No two homes are alike. What I have mentioned is a glimse of what we may consider as potential sites worth looking for. The situation here is that even for "excellent homes" or homes that are considered excellent, they nevertheless are not perfect. Some or in-fact many excellent homes may still have poison arrows aimed at them. This is where, in a second article, I felt that one should also look out for leaks. http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/leakinexistinghome.htm It would be fool hardy not to take note of leaks even if they are excellent homes. If one reads carefully the article on Meyer condo, there is also a leak in the form of the roof that needs to be cured. Therefore, what I had written is just a guideline in our many of our quest to search for an elusive excellent home. Since you are interested in this subject, you can use the SEARCH feature on this forum for our opinions on the various calendar used under Pillars of Destiny.
