  1. Dear N, This is similar in situation with a Period 6 house. Where period 6 (birth chart) house had to cross over to Period 7. For a Period 7 house; if you do not do any major renovations under Period 7; the house will remain or continue to have a Period 7 chart. More importantly, the cures if recommended should be put in place under a Period 7 house. However, for any enhancements, e.g. placement of fish tank to take advantage of e.g. double 7's, this may not work one year after Period 8 e.g. 2005 onwards. Please note the distinction between `cures' and `enhancers'. An example of an enhancer is that if the location has 7 (metal) or 1 (water), and if this is e.g. a suitable location e.g. the frontage of the house, metal with water e.g. fountain or water pool is considered a good addition. Since, water and metal is a good combination flow. Therefore, it is such enhancements, that may not necesarily work under Period 8. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Wasis, Before you change the door to NE: 1. What is your rationale other than the direction is suitable for your dad. 2. When was the house built? If it is built before 1984, then tilting the main door would change the birth chart of the house. 3. Has the previous change (door direction) had affected your family's luck. 4. Yes, if one wants to consider changing the door direction to NE, it has to be done with much consideration. Especially, the Flying Star chart numbers at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Anon, Please note that these are general statements. But it does not necessarily mean that it may apply to all units in the vicinity. Your new set of question simply is too general since there are too many variations in Housing board flat layouts and locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. This artwork can be found at the reception lobby at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. It shows the ancient Chinese Physician: Hua Tuo cure Kuan Kong for his wound on his arm by a poison arrow. (During around BC 106-225).
  5. In this illustration, the bottle gourd is shown placed next to the toilet bowl. Used to absorb bad qi between the toilet and the master bedroom location. As mentioned earlier, these are some of the things, bottle gourd is used in Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Guek Rian, Thank you for a sketch of your layout plan. Yes, based on your intital sketch; your semi-di has a major leak due to the inauspicious Shapes and Forms at the ground level. Especially due to the narrowing at the centre of the house and also the large stretch of glass panels on the side of the house. How much tinting is on the glass panels. Is there a drain behind the house. This is only one consideration as Shapes and Forms is more important. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear All, This is another illustration showing the same principle with the use of the Bottle Gourd with main door /windows. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. The bottle gourd used in several situations. One situation is illustrated in the attached diagram to prevent wealth being drained out of the house.
  9. Another common Feng Shui practise especially in Hong Kong:- In the past, toaist priests use this to trap evil. The bottle gourd (will attach a picture later on) is said to comprise both Heaven and Earth. It is common to find Chinese Feng Shui practitioners advising on the use of the bottle gourd. In Feng Shui practise, the Bottle Gourd can either be natural (dried) or made of metal e.g. bronze. Some Feng Shui practioners advise that it be placed at the bed of the sick i.e. to `suck' away the `spirit' of an unhealthy person. Sometimes, the advise is to place it at the toilet area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    Tong Su

Dear Wendy, It can be easily found in most neighbourhood `incense' shops i.e. shops that sell Chinese joss sticks, oils and religious items. Usually, the Tong Su for this case (year 2003) should easily be found after August 2002 in these shops as they are imported from Hong Kong in bulk. Warmest Regards, cecil
  11. Dear All, Another authentic cure is the following:- 6-coins in a Jar of salt water ============================== Step 1:- ====== Find a glass jar, approximately 3 inches or more inches in diameter. Enough to hold 6 metal coins. Step 2:- ======= Pour ordinary tap water into the jar until approximately three-quarters full. Step 3:- ====== Stir the salt solution until it is fully dissolved. Step 4:- ======= Place 6 metal coins (i-ching type with square holes at the centre) into an ordinary glass jar. Step 5:- ======= (THIS IS OPTIONAL) Add some gold flakes into this jar. If the gold flake is a piece of flake, cut it into small sizes or simply place this small piece of flake into the jar. Place it at a location such that it one does not trip on it e.g. below the hollow of the window ledge. DO NOT place it next to the bed. As there may be vapours emitted. This is considered as an authentic Feng Shui cure. As it has been used widely locally and especially in Hong Kong. As we all know, salt water can be acidic and would react with the metallic coins to emit (some invisible vapour). RECOMMENDATION: 1. It is best not to use this cure at locations where the windows are closed all the time. 2. Steer clear from leaving it close to the bed e.g. on the night table. 3. This type of cure is used especially if there are severe or multiple #2's and /or #5's and /or #3 and / or #4. Particuarly more for combinations of #2 and #3's. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear All, 1. This concept is not a modern invention. 2. In the past, I had written in this forum about this concept. 3. The concept: If one look out of a child's bedroom and a distance away, on the right side; if there is a structure i.e. looks like a profile of e.g. a pagoda or high tension wire (note that this is a distance away); this is considered auspicious. Here, it implies that there will be `scholars' or children will do exceptionally well in their studies. 4. In Hong Kong, many Feng Shui practitioners have advised their clients to place a pagoda figurine on their children's study table. Please refer to attached illustration. 5. Here, the pagoda figurine can be e.g. clear glass, crystal; ceramic (like those found in fish tanks); or even marble or metallic. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. For a concrete beam, the most popular cure is to use two flutes. Another alternative is shown in the attachment. If the beam is concrete, then use the two wooden support as shown in the attach picture. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Guek Rian, Yes, it is good to try to look closely and if possible `fix' leaks before we even look at enhancements. Frankly, it is always difficult for me to imagine what a layout seems to look like. Would you be able to draw a sketch using any software and upload to the forum? This is because, I hope you can do this so that it is this would help me to better understand your layout plan. For example, the layout plan should include all rooms and toilet area and even roads around the house. NE can be a double edged sword direction. Since, this location is also known as the devil's main door. And it is better to understand your layout. Perhaps, you can also describe the external of the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Development: The Petals Condominium Developer: Centrepoint Properties Ltd Total of 270 condominium units Tenure: Freehold TOP: Within 6 months time (Approximately at end of this year 2002) URL: http://www.centrepointhomes.com/petals_site.asp In my opinion, this Type C1 layout (see attached) is a typical Feng Shui nightmare. What's bad:- 1. Toilet(s) next to main entrance - Fatal error Fortunately, many of the condominium developments do not have a toilet next to the main door. The only other development, which I can think of that has this bad arrangement is the Regent Grove condominium. So far if I am not mistaken some of the units at Regent Grove are still available i.e. no takers. 2. Poison arrow aimed at Living room set - Correctable 3. Master bedroom is odd-shaped. - Danger for NEWLY married couples - leading to divorce 4. Bedroom 4 is odd shaped. 5. Chances are if this house has been purchased by a newly married couple, the chances of separation & divorce is very high. It is preferred that newly married couples occupy bedrooms that are not of odd-shaped. 6. In my opinion, after 1 or 2 years of moving in, the breadwinner will be plagued with financial & marriage problems. Recommendation: If you have all the money in the world, it is not worth spending it on this type of layout plan. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Development: The Petals Condominium Developer: Centrepoint Properties Ltd Total of 270 condominium units Tenure: Freehold TOP: Within 6 months time (Approximately at end of this year 2002) URL: http://www.centrepointhomes.com/petals_site.asp Please refer to the attached picture (below) of this sample Type B1 layout. Most of us are aware that poison arrows are aimed inwards. From this picture, can you guess whether is this still a poison arrow? YES/NO/DUNNO?
  17. Dear Rupert, Frankly, a 4 foot long ceramic red dragon is pretty huge. 1. Can I confirm how many claws it has. 2. What stance is it at i.e. looks like floating on air. Or is it like a mantle piece? Please refer to:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?img=0&search=dragon&cat=all&bool=and&x=12&y=6 1. For example, the file dragons2.jpg shows the dragon in a `display' format. 2. While dragon-pic2.jpg shows that it is floating on air. 3. While photos dragon1.jpg shows that it is facing right. (or East). If one notice carefully, majority of the more authentic pieces will have its head facing (right or `East') i.e. from where we are standing looking at it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Anon, Please refer to my earlier reply, which, I believe you had missed reading it:- Topic: fire station map (4 of 4), Read 8 times Conf: Free Advice (General Topics) From: Cecil Lee Date: Monday, June 10, 2002 08:13 PM Dear Anon, Please see below:- - In my opinion, it is best if one can not to purchase this house. - Perhaps, you can also ask the existing owner what is the rationale for them selling the unit. 1. What is your view on the effect of the station & the lane and the unit?s overall feng shui and it?s cure? Frankly, it is NOT practical to `cure' such a Yang effect coming from the Fire station. Not practical because, one has to literally close the curtains or close the main door most of the time. 2. Will it benefits a breadwinner of weak earth element perhaps needing more fire? This is to do more with which direction the main door is facing and whether it matches the Ba Zi of the breadwinner. For example, the bright Red coloured wall of the Fire station is considered a Sha Qi. And frankly, I do not see how it can co-exist with one's element. Even if one needs `fire' this is not exactly the type of `fire' one wants. There is a difference between personal enhancement and Sha Qi. 3. What about the effect on the other family members of strong earth and strong wood elements? As mentioned above, we are talking about two different issues. It is not possible for Sha Qi to work advantages for us. - Frankly, it is difficult to comment on this unless you can draw a proper sketch. As such a judgement involves many factors. This includes the distance between the blocks, the distance between the gap etc.. - Being a west life and a weak earth person, the door faces SE, unfavourable Liu Shai and wood. However, the living, dining and master seems favourable in NE, Nien Yen-Earth, NW, Sheng Chi-Metal and SW,Tien Yen-Earth. Since the maindoor leads to a short passage way and where activities are limited, are the unfavourable effect limited and may not be even of upmost important in this case? I have heard of geomancer that advise on checking on the window facing rather that the door if both the door and window that do not align, please confirm? The easiest way out is always to use a Luopan and point it to the location with the brightest light that comes into the house. This is where, it is relatively easy to find the `facing' and `sitting' direction. However, if one really takes a closer look at the Flying Star chart i.e. a 24 degree increment, one still has to find out exactly the compass direction of the main door. Taking the easy way out, this is simply based soley on the Luo pan readings. However, if one wants to take true compass directions, one has to find out the centrepoint of the house. And from this centrepoint determine the exact compass degree of the main door to plus or minus 15 degree increments. It is fine if the Geomancer provides you with his/her advice based on the luopan. But if one uses a Flying Star chart with the mathematical formulas on it, one would have guessed that it requires a precise determination based on the compass direction. For example, take the case of the Eight House Theory. Here, the advise is to take the compass readings from the centrepoint. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm If one notice carefully, the centrepoint is usually the location where the centre of gravity is located. And both Eight House and Flying Star are compass school Feng Shui. As mentioned earlier, some geomancers, for their convenience, read off from their Luo pan and provide advise (or rough) advise based on it. Some even do not provide you confirmation with tools such as Flying Star chart. The forum and other resources in this site, can provide some clue as to their use. But it is diffcult to list out the exact order. As no two situations are the same. However, roughly, the order is as follows:- THE HOME/OFFICE 1. Shapes and Forms (external, site, building, home) 2. Eight House Compass School (birth chart of the house) PERSONAL SELF 1. Eight House 2. Ba Zi 3. Ba Zi Feng Shui In the forum, I mentioned that there are three easy steps: 1. What is the purpose of each theory 2. What are its strenghts 3. What are its weakness - If one is applying Flying Star Feng Shui, then if a house is built under Period 6 or Period 7, the house will continue to remain as e.g. a Period 6 or Period 7 house. There is really nothing new here. For example, under this current period, a Period 6 house has continued to remain as a period 6 house. (Unless there is a major renovation that changes this to a period 7 house). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Is this child's play? YES / NO? Not sure?....read on...
  20. If a building is narrow at the frontage (main entrance area) and the back is broader, an inverted U can be used to `catch' or symbolically neutralise this deficiency. This is particularly useful, or a good situation is where plants can be lined up in this `u' shaped trout along the parimeter (less plants along the frontage) of course. Attached please find a sample illustration. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Development: C?te d?Azur Condominium Developer: Centrepoint Homes (A subsidiary of Frase and Neave) URL: http://www.centrepointhomes.com/mp/siteplan.asp 1. Overall, this development has excellent Shapes and Forms. It shares some characteristics of The Tropica Condominium The Tropica Condominium 2. The blocks are in a horse shoe protective pattern with a good shape (plot of land). 3. The side roads and underground carpark are nicely layout. More importantly, the water features are strategically placed. For example Block 66 at the front part of the condominium also has it's own water features. 4. The interior layout:- Overall, layout Type for 1 and 2 bedrooms are acceptable. For 3 and 4 bedroom types, do check out the toilet locations. (Especially for the 5 bedroom types where there are significant missing corners and toilets at the centrepoint of the unit). Overall, `district 15' is always a very popular location. With additional sea-view advantage, one gets an additional boost of beneficial Qi from this site. Worth looking into. But do expect a premium for the few `rare' East Coast development sites. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Development: Tanglin View Condominium (Ready for Immediate Occupation) Developer: Far East Organisation Location: Prince Charles Crescent URL: http://www.fareast.com.sg/mainpage.asp?LeaseSale=Sale&page=Features&Cat=Residential&id=46 Overall, this condominium has good Shapes and Forms. And majority of the apartments in this condominium has good interior layouts. The layouts can be viewed from Far East Organisation's website:- http://www.fareast.com.sg/mainpage.asp?LeaseSale=Sale&page=FloorPlan&Cat=Residential&id=46 From the above layout plans, try to locate TYPE A and TYPE B's. You will notice that this type of layout are a `rare find'. Where the toilets are neatly `tucked' away at corners. Overall, all units shown on the above layout plans also are quite rectangular and few if any missing corners. Worth taking a look for new home buyers In my opinion, this is a `rare' find and as this is a `matured' condo i.e. already ready for immediate condo, it is certainly worth looking closely at unsold units. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Development: Duman View Condominium Developer: Far East Organisation Location: Haig Road Two Tower Blocks: Tower 1 and Tower 2 URL: http://www.fareast.com.sg/mainpage.asp?LeaseSale=Sale&page=LocationMap&Cat=Residential&id=26 Tower 1 is the larger block comprising 5 unit/blocks. While Tower 2 has 4 unit/blocks Many of the units may require a screen. So that qi does not enter from the main entrance in a straight line towards the balcony window(s) area. A Typical C unit e.g. Type C4, shows such a straight sha qi. And this unit also has toilet at the centrepoint. Fortunately, not all units have toilet(s) at the centrepoint. Wealth retention for the entire plot is a question mark. Since there is a `leak' of wealth from the main entrance (out) directly to the back of the plot of land. Overall, this development can be given a miss, you have not considered it already. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Development: Cashew Hill (Landed property) Developer: Far East Organisation Tenure of Land: 999 Years Location: Upper Bukit Timah Road/ Cashew Road Status: Open for Sale URL: http://www.fareast.com.sg/mainpage.asp?LeaseSale=Sale&page=Features&Cat=Residential&id=455 Attached please find a sample of Cashew Hill's Layout. Basically, the toilet bowl is not above the main entrance. The bath tub is. And the entire toilet is above the main entrance. (Not too comforting thought thou). Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil
