  1. Dear Boss Peng, Thanks for the site/lot map. I now have better picture of the lot. In my opinion, this plot `lot 2' is not favourable since, it is downward sloping behind the plot of land and also between the North-West location. If the slope is not properly redressed, usual problem would be the result of financial problems for the breadwinner. If you can try to forgo this plot i.e. lot 2. As I find it inauspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Wendy, Due to many queries on the type of Ba Gua mirror to use, I have complied information on the various types. You need to login to the forum and goto this conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures) Look for the recent messages e.g Part I, Part II & Part III. Where I not only list a description of each type but also show pictures of them. Under the above, you should use the type as mentioned under Part I - Ba Gua mirrors - the models applicable for your case are Model A, B, C or D type of Ba Gua mirror. Especially if there is a sharp angle of another building aimed at your main entrance door. The above file has explained the various `models'. If it is for curing "the rubbish chute", I personally feel that Ba Gua mirror may not be appropriate since - it is low level and does not have a poison arrow. If cleaned properly and since it has a cover, there should not be much of an issue. For which, using the Ba Gua mirror is too `strong'. Perhaps, if you can place two plants on either side of the house for the rubbish cute. As you had mentioned, 1st or 15th of a lunar month is overal an auspicious date. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Boss Peng, 1. It is very difficult for me to give a fair assessment based on general descriptions. However, I would not be too keen to recommend a house with a house on a slop as mentioned below ie. Lot 2. 2. There is a recent case here, where a user wrote in to say that the house which he had moved in recently was inauspicious. The house is worse than what you had mentioned. (Far worse). In fact, the house has a layer the ground level that is slopping downwards. Much like a `patch'. He had emailed me privately with a photo of the house. However, I did not get permission from him to show. Overall, it is best to consider the overall Shapes and Forms as top priority even if the house is suitable to a person. In my opinion, and in general, `Lot 1' sounds or seems to have better Shapes and Form Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Serene, 1. 210 degrees which is (between 202.5 - 217.4 degrees) is considered as South-West. 2. Although you had correctly divided your house into 9 equal grids, it is much easier to use the " PIE CHART " method. I have drawn a rough sketch in the attached sample. It is preferred to use the PIE CHART method. Simply align the directions based on the actual compass directions. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Nina, With regards to the recent question about the breadwinner: 1. If both partners contribute roughly the same income - for purposes of analysis, e.g. under the Flying Star report, the male info is still used. 2. Under the Eight House, it is good to as you mention look at the intangible force at the main entrance for e.g. the husband and wife. 3. What happens if one is a East and the other a West house person? If possible, try to look at houses with main door combinations e.g.:- Better choices: Excellent/Irritation Prosperity/Irritation Health/Irritation Longevity/Irritation Excellent/Spook Prosperity/Spook Health/Spook Longevity/Spook The above are better choices (where possible). 4. Most of all, priority should be given to the `male'. 5. If the main door is at one's death sector e.g. for the spouse, this means that the house is the `least suitable' for her. However, if one can, the bedroom should be a better direction - to offset this negative feature. More important here is that the Shapes and Form Feng Shui should be good. With better Shapes and Form, it can help offset it. 6. For a resale flat, it is always good to find out the reason for the existing / previous owner's resale of the apartment. It is good to hear if the owner has for example, more family members e.g. children and that they are "upgrading" for the better. 7. A school next to a house - overall is OK. So long as the roof or any part of the school does not pose a poison arrow. 8. From your basic description of the resale flat, it sounds acceptable. However, do stand outside the main entrance and each room looking out to check for poison arrows. This is still correctable. Where possible, the house should not have roads surrounding the apartment as it may be affected by malnignant forces. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Anon, In my opinion, this is of secondary importance unless: 1. the toilet is next to the main entrance (at the frontage of the house). 2. or at the center-point of the house. Where one of the toilet wall does not share an external wall. Both cases usually have characteristsics related to financial problems. 3. Otherwise, in most cases, nowadays, it is very common to have an ajoining toilet to the master bedroom. 4. If the toilet door is facing the bed, then symbollically, one can use a table stand with a table lamp. Here, this is symbolic of a `screen' or partition between the bed and the toiet. 5. In addition, even if the toilet bowl is not directly visible, one should still close the toilet door when not in use. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Seeker, In my opinion, it is best to re-confirm both the centrepoint and compass direction of the house. (Period it was built - Period 7?) Is the house rectangular in shape or otherwise. If you have a layout, perhaps, you can scan it in. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Vivek, Thank you for your words of encouragements. Please see below:- For a weak metal person:- Favourable elements: Earth (yellow) and Metal (whitelgold) Unfavourable elements: Fire (red), water (blue/black/grey) Wealth element: Wood (green or brown). Please take note that for a weak metal person, wood is the wealth element. But caution here! A weak metal person has to FIRST increase the weak metal before, one can take advantage of or use Wood element for wealth. If not, wood will further aggrevate the situation. A weak person must therefore, strengthen their weak metal first. Five elements concept is all about balance. Usually when applying the element and strength: we can do it under the following ways:- 1. If one is a weak metal person; and living alone, one should try to increase one's weak metal with favourable elements. For example, have more of it in the bedroom and if one owns the house, the interior decor should include more of the favourable elements. 2. If one is married e.g. if the spouse is a weak metal and say the husband is a strong earth person - one can introduce what is known as a BINDING element in the room. For this combination of say weak metal and strong earth -- the binding element is e.g. Metal element. Thus, have more of this element in the bedroom. Once we have sufficient of this element, we can have other elements even if they are not as favourable. For example, you mentioned your red car. You can still have a red car in such a situation. For personal self, you can wear colours that favour your personal element also. Under the Eight House Theory, if NE is your favourable direction, you can still have a house with the main entrance e.g. at NE even if it is the devil's gate. Or choose a house with the next three best locations under the Eight House Theory. If a house main door is at NE, it is best to have further investigations e.g. using Flying Star Feng Shui. Here, if NE or SW does not have too yin elements, this is as good as any other house with other main entrance directions. Therefore, NE is still acceptable. But more attention should be placed such as using Flying Star Feng Shui. For investigations of other sectors; for example, this can be an option. 3.1. One should apply holistic Feng Shui and try to score as many points under various theories or concepts. 3.2. The only other exception is to have a quantum leap by getting a truly exceptional or excellent house with good Shapes and Forms. Today's message has one on Shapes and Form Feng Shui under this same conference with the title: "Which house to choose?" 3.3. Otherwise, you have to try and score as much in all compartments be it Pillars of Destiny or Feng Shui. 3.4. Frankly, if wealth corner is so easy to locate; " How come, no one dare to write a book - about the wealth corner? ". 3.5.In fact, sector Feng Shui or paying homage to a sector is totally unreliable. 3.6. For example, some books or even practitioners say that one's wealth corner is at the North East of the main entrance. How reliable is this? If one reads the various messages that are often posted to this forum. Where the writer says that he/she enhanced a particular sector but yet.. no results. The only people laughing to the bank are those who sell all the commercial stuffs who make hefty profits. For example, often we hear, where do I place a three-legged toad that I had just purchased? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Anon, Further to what I mentioned earlier, red packet is also placed. Please see below:- In addition to the above, if you have the time, go to the conference called " Chinese Culture (General) and look for this message:- (Or do a SEARCH e.g. `usher') There are some pictures that you can look at. --- Same of message posted --- Topic: Some items used to `usher' into a new home (1 of 1), Read 17 times, 4 File Attachments Conf: Chinese Culture (General) From: Cecil Lee Date: Sunday, July 30, 2000 08:21 AM This pictures shows some items that are brought into a new house: 1. Usually, an auspicious date (and time) is chosen. 2. On the auspicious day and time, the owner of the home brings some auspicious items into the home: 2.1 A packet of salt, rice and sugar. 2.2 Some of the items shown in the picture are: - A red charcoal stove - A red container containing coal (representing gold) - A `huat' quay or self-raising cake (symbolic of a `raise') - For the Hokkien (Chinese dialect group), a pineapple is rolled from the main entrance door into the house. A `pineapple' represent luck. - Some sweets etc... Take a look at the picture Besides the above, water is boiled immediately after entering the home and all lights in the home are turned on. A picture of the kitchen, where water is boiled. Red packets are also placed e.g. on the kitchen stove and in each rooms. Usually the money should be even numbers. For example, it can be 6 cents. For the Hokkien, 6 sounds like luck. For the Cantonese, they may use 8 cents for luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil PS. Less any pictures shown here. Goto the specific conference with this message to view all the picture attachments. --- End of previous message ---
  10. Dear Anon, Please see below:- Please e-mail me personally at support@geomancy.net so that I can advise you on a suitable time specific to you. For a symbolic move I will list out the usual items. However, it depends on yourself i.e. whether u want to use some or all of the items below:- Prior to the day of the symbolic move:- 1. Purchase of 1 packet sugar, 1 packet rice (5 kg) will do and 1 packet of salt. 2. Purchase of a pineapple (with flower on it). Pineapple in Hokkien means " Ong " or prosper. 3. Purchase 1 " Huat Quay ". For prosperity. 4. Optional: purchase of a charcoal stove and charcoal (wrapped in red paper). The charcoal represents good. 5. On the day of the symbolic move:- 5.1 Open the main entrance door and roll in the pineapple into the middle of the house. 5.2 Optional: Either - burn the coal red hot and bring this with a tong to the kitchen stove to heat it red hot. Or symbolically bring in the stove with the charcoal wrapped in red paper. Traditionally, the stove is heated with the coal at the centre-point of the house. 6. Once you come into the house, bring in all the items e.g. packet of salt, sugar and rice. 7. Turn on all the lights in the house. 8. If one is not burning coal at the stove. Then one should boil water to `warm the kitchen'. 9. If one is staying at the house, one can turn off all the lights except the balcony light. Leave it on for the night. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. "Thanks for the richness of resources that you have incorporated into this site. It's commendable. I also thank you for answering my previous query on my flat" - Vivek Srivastava "Resources Simply AWESOME! A truly great website! Noting beats IT!" - Raymond Dixon Jr "Today, I have recommended your site to all my colleagues who are interested to learn Feng Shui!" - Agnes Yong
  12. Dear Nina, You can refer to the recent message posted today " Which house to choose? ". Here, I have indicated that for the Eight House Theory:- 1. More importantly, if one is using this theory: for the breadwinner - choose houses that have suitable main door. The worst senario to avoid is houses with the `death/disaster' sector for the breadwinner at the main entrance. This is the most unsuitable house for the breadwinner. For the main entrance, just concentrate on the breadwinner. It is ok if it is not necessarily good for say your daughter. 2. Next is the bedrooms. Choose houses that have good rooms for yourself and your daugther if possible. In the most recent reply on " Which house to choose "; priority should FIRST be given to Shapes and Form Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil Each room should best suit the individuals staying there.
  13. Dear Serene, 1. Priority of choosing a house goes to the Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 2. For example, excellent houses are `rare' but they share common similiarities. For example, these houses can retain wealth:- 2.1 On the frontage, these houses especially if wealth can be `handed e.g. like two hands' Please refer to attached picture: receivewealth.gif 2.2 Another example of `receiving wealth' is shown under the following slide:- http://www.geomancy.net/events/Rotary_Club_FS_Talk/rc_talk_slide_19.htm 3. Overall, Shapes and Form Feng Shui is in my opinion of primary concern or TOP priority. Please see below:- 4. There is a good house report (based on Flying Star Feng Shui). But if you are not using it then: 5. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, it would be advantages to choose a house that has a double 7 (mountain and water star). If one of the houses have this configuration. 6. If both houses does not have this configuration, then select a house that can is most suitable for the breadwinner (and both husband and wife). Next, check the intangible force in the bedroom area. Select the house that has the best of suitable front door and bedrooms. Do so for each family member staying in their rooms. For family members, it is best that their bedrooms are suitable for them. Yes, in addition, try to choose houses under Shapes and Form that has little or no missing corner (if possible). Best shapes are rectange/square. And L shaped houses are still the best. If the house will be renovated in Period 8 or if the house is ready under Period 8, then, use the Period 8 chart to check on both houses. Under Flying Star, best houses are those with double 8's at the front door and something like 1 as the base. Are preferred (if one can get such houses). However, if the house will be renovated under Period 7, then, one should get the house based on Period 7. If not, one has to wait until Period 8 to do renovations. Missing sector is one where there is a missing corner exceeding 33.3 percent of that particular sector. Imagine, here that you have divided the house into 9 equal grids. And each grid must have missing corners of not less than 33.3 percent. If you have the layout, you can fax to me to have a look at 065 6482 0570. If you want to confirm whether there is indeed a missing corner or contrary to this a protrusion. Sometimes, missing corners may turn out to be a protrusion. If you are confident then, no need to fax or scan for me to take a look at it. In my opinion, it is worse-off to have a missing corner at North as it implies that one may meet with frequent accidents. Reference URL on significance of missing corner:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm Between North to East, I would take a missing corner at East as this is less serious as it affects or has more to do with morale problems. Look more on what I mentioned above. This area is less of an issue. Do try to look at what I mentioned above. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Further to my reply, attached please find a sample of the fish painting that I hung in my living room. 1. This painting has a total of 9 + 9 kois. If one looks carefully, there are 9 kois x 2 kois facing each other. In Chinese symbolism, 9 represents longevity. Thus two 9's represents " Double longevity ". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Sheila, Appreciate if you can elaborate your question further. The rationale is because: "weak earth/wood snake " realtes to Pillars of Destiny or also known as Ba Zi or Eight Characters. While "5 yellow star" or known as Flying Star #5 - misfortune. Both are different theories. Under Flying Star, " 5 yellow star " can be cured at sectors which are out of balanced in a house. It can easily be cured within a house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Nina, 1. For buying a resale flat, do check with the existing owner their purpose of selling the house. To get a clue as to the present/past experience with the house. (This does not necessary mean that it would also be good for us. But is an overal a general good indicator). 2. You can make use of the free tools at http://www.geomancy-online.com to generate the free Eight House Report for each family member. Under the Eight House - do check how suitable the house is to both you and your husband. In addition, usually what are the intangible force affecting each member of the house especially in the bedroom. http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm 3. Furthermore, if you want to use other tools, check out the free Good House analysis or the paid Good House report to look further into the overall Flying Star or birth chart of the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, 1. For crystals, it is best placed in a location where it catches natural light. 2. Often, some FS practitioner would recommend it at the following locations:- 2.1 Where two bedroom doors are in alignment, a crystal is hang mid-way on the ceiling between the two doors. This is still acceptable. 2.2 Some FS practitioners recommend haning it to cure overhead beam. This may not be good. Because if we base it on the Five Elements concept, wood would be an ideal choice to cure concrete beams. And metal is good to cure wooden beams. 3. In my opinion, "crystals" e.g. especially of glass material are too highly commercialised today i.e. it is relatively cheap to produce and the mark-up or profit earned is high. And many sites selling them are too eager to promote it as a wonder cure for "sha qi" or instead to create "positive qi." Something like the `mother of all cures". 4. A simple flat mirror can usually be used. And sometimes more effective. 5. For crystals, it need not be hung with red string. Any string will do. 6. The danger with using crystals is because the main argument here is that it can be considered or originated from `earth' i.e. sand /silicate etc... One view point is that it is considered as belonging to the `earth element'. 7. And overall earth element is pretty strong throughout the year. And there are very bad elements associated with earth such as `sickness' and `misfortune'. 8. We do not want to inadvertenly activate such bad earth elements. Overall, I would say that many of the crystals purchased i.e. let us look at it this way, these crystals are pretty small. Many are no bigger than golf balls. And it is difficult to `introduce' light into them and the output of dispersed light is minimal. In fact, natural light coming into the house can easily be more beneficial to the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear "Seeker", 1. In my opinion, it is best not to place a waterfall picture especially on the main door. Nor is it good to place it at a wall close to the main entrance. 2. In the living room; in particular, when we open the main entrance door, and the surrounding area should have `clear space'. 3. Usually, a painting of waterfall has both elements e.g. a hill/mountain where the water falls `down'. And it is because of the hill/mountain symbolism that may be of concern. A painting, of such nature could perhaps, be interpreted as placing a `mountain' at our front door and symbolises placing an obstruction at our front door. 4. Therefore, I personally feel that, try not to do so as it (this painting) is usually inappropriate here. 5. Acceptable paintings are:- - 9 koi painting or 9 - 9 koi painting. - Some businessmen like to place the 9 horses painting where the horses face the main door. Symbolises `to get business'. - neutral paintings include calligraphy works etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Susan, Since the house belongs to your father, then it would be appropriate for you to `change' house. You have indicated that you have several problems. We would be most happy to provide you with free paid reports specific to your problem if you can let us know in what area are the problems. For example: If it is relationship problems, we could provide you with the number of Pillars of Destiny reports - in relation to the number of persons you are trying to resolve the problem. If it is frequent sickness/misfortune or finance, Flying Star can help. But, you may have to do some home work e.g. take the compass reading. However, if it is analysing the home, you must have permission from your father prior to doing the analysis. For the home, shapes and form feng shui should not be neglected. Do let us know in general what your problems are. And we can try to help you free of charge. In my opinion, it is not that accurate to base more of the Year of Birth. It is best to use Pillars of Destiny to get both your true element and strength. Please take care! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Cindy, 1. In my opinion, unless one does a reno to relocate the bedroom door, there is not much one can do unless the bedroom door is closed when not in use. 2. The rationale is because, it is not feasible to place a partition or screen between the bedroom door and the staircase. 3. An alternative is to place a screen or e.g. a 4 drawer linen cabinet between the door and the bedroom. 4. Before doing anything drastic above; in my opinion, I find a bedroom door facing the stairs - not a `big' issue i.e there is relatively not much - if any impact on those living in the bedroom. So far, I have not come across much problems with regards to this issue for most people. 5. However, most of the issue or concern is with the front door opening half way to e.g. half of the stairs. If it is feasible, then a screen (need not be of full height) should be there to screen the stairs from the front door (if possible). If not, the next best alternative is to place a potted plant at the bottom of the stairs to reduce the sha qi. Another option is to use e.g. beaded blinds. This is not that common today. But the whole idea is if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat. My concern is more of the `problem' related to the staircase visible at the front door. This has more problems than the one faced with the staircase facing the bedroom door. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Vi King, 1. In my opinion, the compass reading for the purpose of determining i.e. the Flying Star chart and Eight House Chart. It is best to use the wooden door entrance. 2. Looking at the `brightest side' or frontage of the house is: 2.1 It is very easy for anyone even say a practitioner to regard e.g. the sliding glass window(s) as the "main entrance" area. But, usually this is quite a large area spanning many degrees. The question asked is: if there are many sliding panels? where do we place the location of the door? 2.2 Here, it is easy to say, but difficult to apply even for a FS practitioner. Even, say a FS practitioner pointed out (if there is 4 panel sliding glass door); one has the right to ask: why do you consider it at panel 1 instead of 2, 3 or 4? 2.3 I am not sure, whether it is done geniunely or to impress clients. But I have heard also that some FS practitioners may say such things but again, always ask why? 2.4 This is because a simple 3 or 4 panel sliding glass door can make the compass reading deviate by at least 15 degrees even within the reading here. 2.5 And under Flying Star, any 15 degree reading off, will give one a completely new chart. 3. The balcony is facing the hill. 3.1 Generally, this is considered as inauspicious. 3.2 It has to be looked at; at a case-by-case basis. 3.3 For example, for those who have the time, do check out the conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) and look for The Sterling Condominium. 3.4 Under this condo, everything on the surface looks inauspicious: - a triangle plot of land - many units facing the Bukit Timah (hill) reserve). But it is an exceptional development where contrary to above, it is auspicious. 4. In your case, it also depends on the distance between your home and the hill. The view from your balcony. The height and profile of the hill. For now, I cannot completely say that it is `inauspicious'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Max, Overall, if your office is at ground level or within the height or blocked by the level of the warehouse store wall, this is considered inauspicious to have an office there. However, you mentioned that there is a street between this piece of land and the wall. If u have a picture of the frontage of the land facing the wall, I can have a look to provide you with further comments. Other considerations:- 1. Under the Five elements concept:- 1.1 Earth element warehouse? If the warehouse is a flat structure i.e. flat roofs - then this is considered an "earth structure". Or if the overall building is a `flat' like structure with roofs. To counteract or `create' wealth, if that piece of land is built, it should be a building of the Wood element. Where wood can destroy earth to create wealth. Unfortunately, wood element is normally a tall and `thin' structure much like the trunk of a tree. Warmest Regards, Cecil
