  1. Dear Wasis, Thank you for your information. Based on what you had supplied, your home belongs to a Period 7 house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Anon, 1. It is common (even locally in Singapore) for some Feng Shui practitioners to coin the idea of the wealth corner. 2. In fact, this is what the consumer wants. And some or many of such Feng Shui practitioners would be most happy to impart the idea. And if it makes the consumer happy, then to this practitioners it is fine to them. 3. In fact, on many many occasions even when I do local Feng Shui audits, 8 out of 10 clients would after the audit ask me where is their wealth corner? 4. As mentioned locally, many Feng Shui practitioners would (some based on their own concepts and ideas would `convince' the owner) that their wealth sector is at `X' marks the spot. 5. If you ask some of the practitioners why do they provide such advise? The idea is to make the owners FEEL GOOD that they have a wealth area to nurture. And some Feng Shui practitioners will argue that placing coins etc... at such locations make one FEEL WEALTHY or good. 6. Perhaps, one can draw a similar conclusion i.e. some people, because of personal problems, may perhaps, one day visit a place of worship to get some sort of relieve from such stress etc.. and give them HOPE. 7. There is no harm in keeping a wealth vase. (It does not kill to keep such things). 8. Fish symbols represents " Every Year got Fish " or every year, got food and luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Michael, In my opinion, Traditional Feng Shui Schools do not practise fixed Ba Gua template or `Black Hat Sect' Feng Shui. Try to do a SEARCH in this forum for `Black Hat' and you can find out the answers why it is not applied here or by any other Traditional Feng Shui Schools. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Anon, 1. The 4 good / bad directions or commonly known as Eight House Theory and the Flying Star Feng Shui both belong to the Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. The difference is that the 4 good directions concept is personalised to an individual i.e. good or bad directions. 3. While the Flying Star Feng Shui looks at the birth chart of the house. Here, under the Flying Star chart of a house, if the house as imbalances, these imbalances should be cured or neutralised. And this is distinct from a peron's good or bad direction. For example, a sector can be the `death' sector of a person. And for example, this sector also has bad Flying Stars e.g. #5 misfortune, sickness or #2 sickness or #3 or #4 bad wood elements. It is best to look into neutralising the bad Flying Star sector. This would at least be better even if the person continues to staying in that room. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1.In Group Both the main door For main door, will it Overall, the analysis is based on the Eight House Theory. And for sectors of the birth chart of the house are out of balance under the Flying Star, this should best be neutralised as soon as possible. There is a contradiction in Feng Shui principles. Here, it is best that the master of the house (where possible) should best occupy the master bedroom. You may have to do with exisiting situation. 2.For another Sorry, perhaps you can further elaborate your question. It is also good to look at the Flying Star chart of your house for Period 8. To see if it is significantly better or not. 3.You For the Period 8 house, most importantly, check to see if the house has or does not have a double 8 at the main door. For example, a North-2 or N2 house has double 7's at the main door. But when a Period 8 for a N2 house was looked into, although there is double 8's, but the double eight's are now at the back of the house. In addition, once you have a chart of Period 7 or 8, it is easy to compare sector by sector, which is better. A renovation (major) involving hacking away walls would under Period 8 - after Lunar New Year 2004, change the house into a Period 8 house within 3 months. An alternative is to repaint the ceiling of the house. Here, the switch over to the new Period 8 would take roughly 1 year. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Anon, 1. Thank you for bring up this interesting question. 2. It depends on the type of house being built. 3. In Singapore, there are public housing. And some public housing:- 3.1 Usually, these flats come empty i.e. only with furnished toilet(s) and white washed ceiling and walls. Otherwise, the house is given to the owners for them to complete the renovation of the floor tiles for both living/dining/kitchen and bedrooms. These flats do come with completed tiles for the kitchen. But no built in cabinet or stove or frige etc... In such a situation, if the owner only take over the flat after Chinese New Year 2004 and does renovation after this period, then, one can consider this house with a birth chart under Period 8 (on or after 2004 ) 3.2 Design and Built Flats For such an flat, this can be a borderline situation. Especially if all the renovation e.g. wardrope, kitchen cabinet, kitchen sink / stove and all floorings and facade finishes was completed before 2004 or Period 7. One should thus consider the house as a Period 7 house. As it is (was) built under Period 7. Para 3.2 applies to any other homes also e.g. landed property etc... Nevertheless, for houses that sway between the borderline of Period 7 and Period 8. It is advisable to look at both the Period 7 and Period 8 charts. If the Period 8 chart is a much better chart e.g. in Period 8, unexpectedly, there are double 8's at the main door, then, this type of house is significantly better than that of Period 7. The other check is to compare the number of bad sectors in Period 7 vs Period 8. And also, where are their position in either Period 7 or 8. For example, many Period 7 houses have not so good sectors located at East (misfortune/sickness type) or South (sickness sector and/or bad wood); and if these fall in your bedroom areas. Usually some Period 8 houses have better sectors in these two areas. Please see below for more comments:- Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Wasis, I bought it locally in Singapore for around approximately US$14/-. Personally, I find the 6-hollow-rod brass wind chime too heavy. And it can only make a sound in very windy conditions. Try to go for the more common 6-hollow-rod alluminum rods with the `wooden' supporting frame and clinger. This type of wind chime(s) makes the most sound. And would be more effective. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Wasis, For reference: URL:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm Usually, the only cure(s) is to have a top down profile or outline e.g. landscaping to `level' this protusion into a regular rectangular area. The other cure is the placement of a lamp at the corner to create a profile level to this protusion at the `missing area'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Rosalind, I have written privately to you yesterday, giving you advise and assistance. As mentioned in the e-mail, will provide you with extra credits to generate the correct profile. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Guek Rian, 1. In my opinion, don't shift your heavy projection TV as yet. 2. Basically, each floor has a certain kilo newton weight load bearing. 3. More importantly, the concept of clear space is directed at the main entrance area. Distinct from what is placed above this structure. With sufficient engineering load bearing for the upper floors, since the location where you placed the projector is not the main entrance area; there is relatively no issue here. Therefore, do not apply the mountain star too rigidly or literally speaking. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Michael, In your situation, it is best to consider mapping the house based on compass directions. Since, each area of the house has a specific compass direction. Try to locate the centrepoint of the house. And using an ordinary compass, (standing at the center of the house) locate each area (with regard to whether it needs to go up or down) referenced to a specific compass direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil

A row of bush rather than a partition of trees would be a better choice. If you are using trees, they usually end up growing tall and `beyond control' after 3 to 4 years. And a row of trees need to be planted spaced out at least 2 to 3 feet from each other. Depending on the type of tree, they often leave behind a huge area of shadow below the tree making the area, too yin. Contrast this with lower shrubs or bushes or simply, creepers on fencing which are much easier to maintain. Since the water tanks are covered up often this is no longer a major issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Maritza, More importantly, you need to protect the most vulnerable window. For example, this is where the movement of cars seem to come `towards' the windows. Firstly adequate curtains at this location. Next, a row of plants parallel to the window. You may like to consider a Ba Gua mirror in the middle (above the window) for added protection. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Anon, Please see below:- 2. A stationary metal cure e.g. 6-coins in cases where there are a combination of bad wood plus bad earth (especially #5) may not be enough. 3. An alternative is to place the 6-coins into a glass jar (the size of a jam jar) and add a spoonful of salt. Water is filled to between 1/3 to 1/2 (of the jam jar) or covering the surface of all the 6-coins. This is one way to activate a constant flow of metal. 4. Frankly, no one can tell exactly which is better i.e. a clock pendulum or a music pendulum. As it varies with the manufacturer and size of the object. 5. A simple test is by-the-ear. So long as one can hear a distinct `tick-tock' sound in a quite room, this is overall acceptable. Unfortunately, no one has looked into it in great detail even to the extend of using decibel meters. Therefore, play it by-the-year. 6. If one stands nearby and hears a constant `tick-tock' then, it should be fine. Since there is a constant `metal' movement. As mentioned above, frankly, in my opinion all Feng Shui practitioners (even myself) simply not able to say for sure whether a brass pendulum or music pendulum is better. No one can tell for sure at the moment. Again, play it by the ear. The sound should be in harmony with the surrounding. And not make a din. In the 1960's and 1970's, Chinese made metal alarm clocks (with metallic movements) were popular. In fact, in my opinion, these are equally effective. It is the sound or `metallic' sound that is more important. Much like constant metal `clinking'. For the Chinese, it is considered very unlucky to give as a present a `Clock'. One has to buy one ourselves. Wealth sectors or sectors under Flying Star Feng Shui that has water stars can compliment a clock pendulum. Here, water and metal are complimentary to each other. Thus, given your definition of wealth sector; if a sector has water stars and it is like activating water star with metal element. The reverse is true. For example, if a house has a double `7's at the front door area. #7 represents small metal x 2 at the front door area. When there is metal elements at a sector, water is used to enhance the sector. Water in the form of a low fountain or fish tank pond. Here, one can then truly say that one is enhancing the `Wealth' sector e.g. double 7 sector with water element. A complimentary flow under the Five elements productive cycle concept. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Maritza, 1. Thank you for your revised sketch. 2. Your main door seems to be protected or well away from the `Sha Qi' of the estate road. This is good. 3. Do you have windows that face road? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Martiza, Thanks for your sketch. It has given a totally different perspective of what I had originally thought of your layout plan. It is great that you have provided the sketch. It is like one of those `text book' communication channel games. And, I totally missed your description. I hope that it is not too much to ask:- 1. Can you mark the location of your main door. 2. The traffic flow direction of the cars 3. Describe more about fencing i.e. what type of fencing you have at the frontage. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Yoyo, Please see below:- Here, usually, one would have a back (side partition) or back cabinet. If so, this is an acceptable configuration. And, many office cublices or rooms have this type of configuration. - Not to worry too much. Frankly, both are the same. But a clock has utility i.e. looking at time. While a music pendulum, simply makes a repeated sound. Both are ok. But, in my opinion, I am not too sure if the music pendulum is made to last that long (perhaps if it runs on battery?) as compared to a pendulum clock. Frankly, I have not used a music pendulum, so cannot really fully comment on it. Warmest Regards Cecil
  18. Dear Peck Wun, Frankly, there is no issue with trying to repaint the wrought iron grille. In many situations, unless, it is a major clash or the colours are out of the ordinary e.g. bright red or bright blue. The `natural' colour of what is suppose to be wrought iron grille colour is overall an acceptable colour. Since it has both gold and black. Gold represents metal and black represents water. Metal and Water are acceptable combinations. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Maritza, 1. Yes, in Feng Shui, this may not be not so good. 2. To counter such effects, usually, it is always best to have a brick (red brick) fencing (acceptable with iron/wrought iron grilles) at the frontage of the house. 3. It also depends on the shape of your plot of land. 4. On the other hand, if your plot of land (from a top-down) view looks like a knife with handle, this will be to your advantage as you can take advantage of the Feng Shui to reap `wealth' at the expense of your neighbour. It is best that if you can produce a sketch. I am not too sure if I got what you mentioned correctly. As such, I have drawn a sketch. To illustrate what is known as a `knife' plot. This is similar to the Faber Crest Condominium project developed by City Development Corporation CDL. (some of the photos are shown under the Events - Feng Shui (CDL) talk and for the most recent Exxon-Mobil talk. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Anon, Usually, the main concern is if the toilet bowl `looks out' of the toilet door (or can be seen when the toilet door is opened). In commonsense approach to Feng Shui, this does not look `appealing'. If the toilet bowl faces the staircase, then, it is best to close the door. Otherwise, if the toilet door is open, and what one sees is a pathway into the toilet or the sink, then this is not that bad (visually). Warmest Regards, Cecil

    Leaks

Dear Wasis, Please see below:- OK. Thanks for the layout. If you still have the flag pole, this is not in a favourable direction. The laundry area is considered not a leak. Is the water reservioir tower covered. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Anon, 1. In general, many Feng Shui practitioners or those who know about Feng Shui, tend to avoid having a sink facing or opposite the stove. This is due to water and fire clashing together. 2. If one has such a situation, one may apply the productive cycle under the Five elements concept by the introduction of wood element. 3. Here, fire -> (adding wood) -> water will form a three element combination flow. 4. In my opinion, it is still acceptable if the kitchen is located the South - fire element(compass direction - area) of the house. 5. One of the worst directions to have a sink opposite the stove is at the North (compass direction of the house). Here, it is said that, North represents the water element and it would be much harder for the stove (fire) to exist. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Joe, Would it be possible for you to attach a simple sketch. As, I am still unclear of your layout plan. Thanks in advance! Cecil
  24. Dear Jennifer, Try to do abit more homework to check for any other leaks in the home. Most common `major' leaks are:- 1. Location of toilet (at centre-point or next to main door area). 2. When entering main door, one can see the back (or qi flows impeded from front door to the back. 3. Stand inside the house i.e. stand at the main door looking out of the house and also from all various windows lookig out of the house. 4. As you had mentioned - external Shapes and Forms of the house. Are there any other inauspicious Shapes and Forms? Please see below:- At behind of the house:- a. Is there any water positions e.g. swimming pools? b. Is there a solid wall at the back of your house. Or can u describe more about the fencing. Such as are there any plants or is it `unprotected' e.g. can see thru to the back. c. How is the gradient of the house? To the left, side, front and back of the house. For example, is the house sloping downwards? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Anon, Sorry for the delay. For Strong Water vs Weak Fire, your binding element is Wood (green or brown). This colour would be good for areas where you spent time together. Warmest Regards, Cecil
